Doh

Ahh well best of luck to him we got The Don he's better and funnier

What you guys think about him joining QPR? you must be happy about it, no offence to him but I think maybe championship is to big of a level for him

He's a great player, but another player who we have developed to a better player just to dump us on the ground

Don't take it to heart, what percentage of football players who get a chance to move to a bigger club and make more money don't take that opportunity. Truth is, if he hadn't done as well as you would have liked, you would have dropped him, no?

If that's not true, then hopefully you guys saw fit to give him a long term contract and are now pocketing a hefty transfer fee.

REGGAE BOY SIGNS

Jamaican international Damion Stewart has signed a three year contract with QPR - subject to obtaining an extension to his work permit.

The 25 year-old defender, who spent last season on loan at Bradford City from Caribbean Club champions Harbour View, today (Thursday) became Gary Waddock's first signing of the summer transfer window and will officially join on June 1 2006.

Stewart, who has amassed 30-plus appearances for his country and is due to line-up against England in a World Cup warm-up match at Old Trafford on June 3, passed a medical at Loftus Road this morning.

Nicknamed 'Stew Peas' by the Reggae Boyz, Stewart - at 6'2'' - is an athletic and tenacious defender with poise, speed and an effective no-nonsense style of defending.

"I'm delighted to have joined QPR,'' said Stewart.

"I enjoyed my time at Bradford but when the chance came up to play in the Championship for a big club like QPR it was an easy decision to make.

Thats a good move for Stew Peas to be able to play in a hgher division.I expect him to do well in the championship as he has grown well into the English system and with Richard Langley there he should fit in quite well. Remember Stew Peas is 25 years old so its wise to make use of this opportunity and a chance to make the best use of it.Perhaps Bradford could look at a younger player who could grow into their team.

So wait a the Foreign vs Local argument this all over again?

See BadRas you way too nice as yours truly would have been calling names because when you don't do that you allow them to slink off into the shadows only to resurface when the youth hit a speed bump to come tell us that "I told you so"

Call name bossman and if that include the one Shatta or the one Princess or better yet Big Mountain(aren't mountains by virtue of being called mountains big?) and Robyna etc.

Where is Jahjesty(yet another fine example of C Brown's work) or Yardman(carl brown buss another one) when you need them.

However first and foremost congrats to Stew Peas and congrats to HV.

However I must say that I am concerned by out unwillingness to at least have something good to say about certain players who we no like. Its almost like we don't expect them to change.

Is it that difficult to say well done or congrats?

Congrats to Damion "Stew Peas" Stewart!!! Also, massive big-ups to Harbor View for continually leading the way in Jamaica with regards to developing our players to a level which draws the attention of the overseas market.

P.S. Do not take it too hard BradfordArmy89 your manager knows the ability of the Jamaican players and can easily find another gem in Jamaica if he so desires.

So why did you see it fit to bring up the "cane cutting" of past now?

If you believe that he can learn then you should believe that he has at least learnt enough to move pass his cane cutting days.

I mean would QPR really try and sign a cane cutter?

What was the reason for bringing up "cane cutter" again?

BadRas why am I doing all your dirty work?
this is it for me from here on out you take over.

Shatta, I have never tested Curry's IQ or EQ or any other Q. IMHO, he's your typical Jamaican baller. Anyway, in defense of Ital Stew:

quote:
Our current method in the United States to develop better players mistakenly focuses almost exclusively on the extraordinary physical maturity and technical ability of players like Samba and Adu. This thinking ignores perhaps the most crucial element in the total development of a soccer player: the ability to read the game, the flow, and how to anticipate and adjust to individual opponents and teams. These are the intangible traits that make great players rise above others, and that players only develop over a long period of time with experience and experimentation.

Yeah, good luck to Damo

I want Luton Shelton (something like that) I like the name

Hopefully the Don don't follow in his footsteps,I think he should be captain when Wetherall retires

No one can deny that Stew Peas has got better under us, he's been playing along one of the best defenders to play for City and under a manager who was an international, I don't think QPR have better defenders than us
