Bit by bit, and through non-JFF sources, we will get the info. These calls are unsurprising:

Four Houston Dynamo players called up for international friendlies

Major League Soccer
August 9, 2012

Midfielder Je-Vaughn Watson and defender Jermaine Taylor earned call-ups by the Jamaican federation for its friendly vs. El Salvador. The Reggae Boyz will take on La Selecta at RFK Stadium in Washington, D.C. Taylor has been capped 48 times by his country, while Watson has been capped 19 times.

Honduras, Jamaica tab combined 13 MLSers for FIFA date
AUGUST 10, 2012

The US roster for the upcoming FIFA date won’t be released until Sunday, but more than two dozen MLS players have already gotten their August international assignments.

Including Canada’s roster, which was released on Friday and includes players from all three Canadian MLS clubs, 33 MLS-based players will be representing their home countries next week.

As usual Jamaica have put forth a strong contingent with seven players called in, and are joined at the top of the heap by Honduras with a half-dozen of their own. The Catrachos’ list includes Olympic heroes Jerry Bengtson (New England), Roger Espinoza (Sporting KC) and Mario Martinez (Seattle Sounders), though D.C. United flanker Andy Najar has been allowed to stay with his club.

Also of note is Philadelphia Union defender Carlos Valdés getting the call for his native Colombia. Los Cafeteros managers have been notoriously reluctant to call in MLS-based players in the past, but it looks like the rock-steady central defender has worked his way into the mix. Colombia don't have a game lined up, and are instead set for a four-day training camp in Spain ahead of next month's CONMEBOL World Cup qualifiers against Uruguay and Chile.

Here is the complete list, as of Friday afternoon, of MLS call-ups for next week’s internationals:

Albania
F - Hamdi Salihi (D.C. United)

Let see which players he calls from across the Atlantic. IMO, it is pointless to call players who start their club season over the weekend that we have already seen, which means Austin, Nosworthy, Mariappa can stay in England.

SAN SALVADOR - After one last training session at home, El Salvador travelled to the United States on Thursday for two friendly matches. Head coach Juan de Dios Castillo, who named a 23-player roster for the trip, arranged a recovery practice a day after most of his squad played in domestic league games.

The Cuscatlecos will face Guatemala in Carson, California, on August 11, before meeting Jamaica four days later in Washington, D.C., at RFK Stadium.

Dagoberto Portillo, the experienced national team goalkeeper, said the friendlies against Guatemala and Jamaica "will bring us closer to what it means to play against Costa Rica and Guyana in the (World Cup) qualifiers, so it is important that we have these games to prepare."

El Salvador will be looking to improve on its record of one win, two draws and three losses in six previous internationals this year.

El SALVADOR (roster v Guatemala - Aug. 11, 2012, v Jamaica - Aug. 15, 2012)

GOALKEEPERS: Dagoberto Portillo (Luis Angel Firpo), Benji Villalobos (Aguila)

DEFENDERS: Moises Xavier Garcia (Luis Angel Firpo), Alexander Larin (FAS), Milton Molina (Isidro Metapan), Carlos Monteagudo (Luis Angel Firpo), Alfredo Pacheco (Isidro Metapan), Steven Purdy (Portland Timbers/USA), Victor Turcios (RoPS/Finland)

MIDFIELDERS: Dennis Alas (Luis Angel Firpo), Arturo Alvarez (Pacos Ferreira/Portugal), Christian Castillo (Alianza), Darwin Ceren Delgado (Juventud Independiente), Elder Figueroa (FAS), Jose isidro Gutierrez (Aguila), Eliseo Quintanilla (Isidro Metapan), William Osael Romero (Aguila), Ramon Sanchez (Isidro Metapan), Herbert Sosa (Alianza)

FORWARDS: Mark Lester Blanco (Kongsvinger/Denmark), Nelson Bonilla (Alianza), Ricardo Ulloa (FAS), Rafael Burgos (Banik Ostrava/Czech Republic)

As I said before, bit by bit. Let's see what U.K. callups there will be. Humphreys is hurting with a hamstring, so they can dodge that bullett.

Mattocks, Cummings in Boyz squad for El Salvador rumble

Saturday, August 11, 2012

Print this page Email A Friend!

In-form Vancouver Whitecaps forward Darren Mattocks and speedy Colorado Rapids striker Omar Cummings are among 14 overseas-based players selected to represent the Reggae Boyz in their upcoming August 15 friendly international against El Salvador at the RFK Stadium in Washington DC.

Mattocks, last season's number-two college draft pick, has had an exceptional rookie season for the Whitecaps, bagging an impressive seven goals from 13 matches.

Cummings, who last represented the Boyz late last year and was kept out mainly due to injury, will look to re-establish himself for the remaining CONCACAF World Cup qualifying tournament after an injury-free start to the MLS season so far.

The other foreign-based players in the squad are Dwayne Miller, Lovel Palmer, O'Brian Woodbine, Jermaine Taylor, Jevaughn Watson, Andrae Campbell, Jason Morrison, Ryan Johnson, Dane Richards, Shavar Thomas, Luton Shelton and Dicoy Williams.

The six local-based players to complete the 20-man squad are Jacomena Barrett, Ewan Grandison, Keneil Moodie, Damian Williams, Xavian Virgo and Joel Senior.

The Boyz will next face Kenya in another friendly match in Connecticut, USA, on August 25.

The Theodore Whitmore-coached Boyz are preparing for a semi-final World Cup qualifying tie against the USA in Jamaica on September 7, and four days later in Columbus, Ohio.

Jamaica's Reggae Boyz will step up their preparation for the crucial World Cup Qualifier (WCQ) on September 7 against the United States, when they tackle El Salvador at the RFK Stadium in Washington, DC, on Wednesday, August 15, beginning at 8:15 p.m.

The Jamaican technical staff will use this game to get a fresh look at the condition of key players since the last WCQ on June 12, and has used the occasion to recall Omar Cummings, who did not play in the earlier WCQ matches due to injury, and they have also given striker Darren Mattocks a call-up.

Also returning is midfielder Damian Williams (formerly of Nybergsund, Norway); Obrian Woodbine (VPS Vaasa, Finland) and Shavar Thomas (Montreal Impact, USA). Thomas, a former team captain, last played for the Reggae Boyz against Honduras in October 2011.

Some players used in the last qualifiers are not available because of commitment to club or injury. Adriana Mariappa recently moved to new club Reading; Nyron Nosworthy is in preseason training with an early game in the new season; Rodolph Austin also has moved to Leeds in the United Kingdom and has asked for time to acclimatise; Donovan Ricketts has also moved to Portland Timbers, while Demar Phillips and Errol Stevens are nursing injuries.

Meetings

The delegation departs the island on Monday, August 13 at 6:40 a.m. and will be joined by the overseas-based players from the US and Europe on the same day.

The Boyz have played El Salvador on 18 occasions, with Jamaica winning eight times and losing on five occasions.

El Salvador, now ranked 66th to Jamaica's 63rd, have not beaten Jamaica since 2000 when the teams met in the 2002 World Cup Qualifiers in San Salvador. The result then was a 2-0 win for the hosts.

One of the most famous victories Jamaica had over El Salvador was in the 2006 WCQ when Jamaica beat El Salvador 3-0 in El Salvador. This was Jamaica's first-ever WCQ victory on Central American soil. The last time Jamaica played El Salvador was in early 2011 when Jamaica won 3-2 in San Salvador. Dane Richards scored a brace that day, while Omar Cummings scored the other.

SQUAD: Dwayne Miller, Lovel Palmer, O'Brian Woodbine, Jermaine Taylor, Jevaughn Watson, Andrae Campbell, Jason Morrison, Damian Williams, Ryan Johnson, Darren Mattocks, Omar Cummings, Dane Richards, Shavar Thomas, Luton Shelton, Dicoy Williams, Jacomena Barrett, Ewan Grandison, Keneil Moodie, Xavian Virgo, Joel Senior.

Officials: Everton Tomlinson (head of delegation), Theodore Whitmore (head coach), Alfredo Montesso (assistant coach), Armando Bracali (goalkeeper coach), André Waugh (physical trainer), Roy Simpson (team manager), Dr Derrick McDowell (team doctor), Norman Stone (equipment manager), Nodley Wright (press officer).
