The most important thread pon the forum as far as this campaign is concern and it just dead so?
I was so looking forward to reading the debate...I guess everyone agree that no support should be forthcoming? SMFH.
Oh, there is an African friendly (distraction) upcoming. Yippee!!!
This debate is a dead issue because Jamaican people a no idiaat, including the football followers/supporters who are members of this forum.
While we all love Jamaica/the Reggaeboyz as our team, u caan fool Jamaican people into throwing away their hard-earned money...
And while we will all argue here about what is being done right or wrong on the technical side of things, the results speak for themselves...it must only be in Jamaican football where poor results are expected to be rewarded.
Well...corporate Jamaica no see it so...if the JFF was forced to run as a legal corporation, they would have been out of business a long time ago...
And corporate Jamaica nah go fart pon dem and the Reggaeboyz if the professional product on the pitch does not warrant it.
It mussi ongly di dimmist of dimwits who wudda now seh that Jamaica on the pitch has earned anymore support than we are now getting...
And that throwing more money after a weak and weakening football situation...as well as calling up all the best players available...will solve the problem...if the techincal side of things are not capable of making the right football decisions and achieving the necessary results.
The JFF could start to correct this image by replacing their chosen coach, Theodore 'Tappa' Whitmore NOW, at this juncture...
And attempt to form a relationship with a competent coach with a proven track record...and convince corporate Jamaica to support this relationship; of course this would not GUARANTEE WC qualification...
But Jamaica's position right now is a shaky, if not yet precarious one...
Make the necessary upgrade now and Jamaica might still have a chance to qualify for Brazil.
Even if this current coach and team does sneak into the Hexagon, there Jamaica's journey to Brazil will come to a screeeching halt.
If I were the JFF, I would be actively recruiting Whitmore's replacement NOW...and it is to Holland and the Dutch to which I would turn.
Brazilian and Jamaican football do not match up, regardless of how many believe that Brazil and Jamaica has ANYTHING in common in football terms.
The Jamaican game is much more suitable to Dutch football culture, with a mixed population and its marriage of athletic and football abilities...and the Brazilians have nothing to teach the Dutch about coaching football.
That is my suggestions to get corporate Jamaica on board for this effort to Brazil 2014.
In the eyes of corporate Jamaica, this effort is ALREADY failing by recent results and performances...and the challenges ahead don't leave much to hope for with the current football situation in place.
Fire Whitmore NOW and make the necessary changes while there is still time to retrieve the situation.
You as a Jamaican should know that everything you wrote is bunk. You no need a CRican fi tell yu that and if you do you shouldn't mek any further sarcastic reference to my place of birth to imply seh mi no know weh mi a seh because it would be obvious seh mi know more than yu.
That is just another excuse. While I might agree that the team if it was a club team would not be worth supporting, I won't buy that excuse for a national team. And if you were honest you would admit that it is only EXCUSE(S).
When noone was complaining about the results, coaching decisions the direction or composition of the team the excuse was the JFF is not promoting the games enough for the fans to be aware, hence the low attendance. Mi all read weh a man come seh him friends didn't know JA was a play inna the GC. Pure excuses. Everyone but the excuse makers know and understand the difficulty with getting Jamaicans to support a team unless it has reached a certain level of success. This is no mystery.
Mek mi ask u something...where was all this reference to support 2 years ago ?
How come is only since Jamaica drop points against the weakest team in this WC qualifying group when they were expected to gain their bonus points off this side ?
U tink sey inna Jamaica nuff murmurings and unda-breath kiss teet and cut eye nah gwann ? And u claim se u know Jamaica ?
Montesso coming out wid dis 'support' business a chat bout a ting weh did fi in place from afta the last WC in 2010, much less the GC last year...imma find excuse fi di miserable matches Jamaica has played...and the problems that are now evident with the current Jamaica squad...and now tryin fi blame corporate fi dem lack a support.
Where was the JFF and im and Tappa bawlin out fi support after the GC so that Jamaica could be in a better postion than we are right now ?
No...mi no buy dat...Montesso looking for excuses....and mi caan blame im...im done know sey di current Jamaican side isn't good enough and blaming corporate lack of support is a good way to divert blame if and when this campaign fails.

Ric,
Hold strength bredrin, mi know you vex sey Tappa discipline u balla Marlon King but stay on the BANDWAGON. Hold faith, hopefully when Tappa come over to England in August im can reason wid a bredrin.
Support Tappa because di high-paid foreign coaches have proven to have less than a 8% success rate in the Caribbean and Africa.
Tappa doesn't have what it takes to conduct a successful WC campaign and get Jamaica to Brazil...mi firmly convinced of that now; mi did willing to give him the benefit of the doubt until im mek up mi mind fi mi...well, mi no have no questions pon dat now.
The Dutch coaches have had the best rate of success with the most improved African nations..u only hafi look at Zambia fi see dat...dem a di best European coaches to work with the 3rd world football nations where facilities and support might be limited...their track record shows that.
Jamaica needs a coach that can coach at WC level, which Tappa can't...and who can command the respect of corporate Jamaica and the media...which Tappa can't either.
Bring in a Dutch coach...fia di Brazilians...and mek Tappa work unda him fi the duration of the WC campaign...
If Jamaica is serious about getting to Brazil...that is my suggested plan.

Once again your comprehension skills tek another hit. That cry fi support has always been there. Where have you been?
I will give you one better. 4 years ago just after the first 2 matches where JA won by a combined 12 to 2 or so, with the full contingent of UK ballas the JFF put out a budget showing they lost money and were in desperate need of funds, which debunks Ballaprof cry that with the best ballas the stadium will fill. Following those 2 games the whole UK contingent was sent packing. Do you remember the budget? I am sure you didn't even know it existed, but mi deh yah a spy pon yu? What a freaking waste of my time that will be.
No matter what level of football that you're playing you must have some form a discipline. Once the inmates start running the asylum its a wrap. I have no problem with Tappa emphasizing discipline in the Natl team. He's just not most articulate guy, and most (fans, Media and corporate ja) see this as a sign that's he's just not bright enough, and incapable of making smart decisions...
On one hand you have current group a players that he's been using for past 2yrs. These players are not most skilled, but they believe in him, work hard, and more disciplined...
On the other hand you the skilled group of players that fans are crying for. They have better skills but lack disciplne and good work ethics.
So now the questions is, which group gives Jamaica the best chance to qualify for 2014 WC?
On the other hand you the skilled group of players that fans are crying for. They have better skills but lack disciplne and good work ethics.
I must disagree with your assessment that the better skilled players are indisciplined. We have Marlon King who seems to be a problematic player but I see no other evidence that the other players do not conform to team rules. Hell, thy are on their respective club teams and there is no problem with them there.
What we have is a young (inexperienced) coach that seems to be intimidated or uncertain how to handle the high profile players that he is not familiar with. For Tappa to elevate himself as a coach he needs to stop hiding behind his comfort zone of familiar players and lean how to manage all the different personalities that will make up a top notch team.
Conflicting personalities and egos is problem that comes with all winning teams in any sport and it takes a strong coach to harness their qualities and bring out the best in each player. Tappa is not at that level as yet.

So Jagga, Marlon King is only name you can think of that had discipline problems? Really?!?!
Ever wonder why is that you see breaking all the rules in Jamaica, but when they come foriegn they fall in line cause they no what will happen if they dont. So those Skilled players might be on best behaviour but soon as dem foot touch home soil its back to old ways.
Those same skilled players have been tried and failed to get to a WC more than once with other coaches in charge. So.... What makes it any different this time around?
When Tappa took over with this group what was jamaicas world rankine?
As far a managing personalities.. None of these more skilled players are at that talent level where it you can say "we have to make an exception for this or that player as far rules..
Didn't Rene Simoes have to disipline Nandi and Boyd?
The TEAM unity and chemistry is KEY not necessarily the nationality of the coach.
In regards to the Dutch coaches, how come they struggle so much with the Dutch National team over the past 15 years, they have underachieved.
IMO, the team is progressing we should not be peaking right now but should be make progression.
Tappa is intelligently building the team from the backline.
From where I'm sitting...these comments made by Montesso should have been made from after last year's GC because it was evident that Jamaica needed more from then...we all know what that 'more' means...it means the better players available...along with the support he's bawling for now.
If you read his comments carefully...he's talking about more support for a squad of Jamaica's local players...as if this support would suddenly turn them into better footballers...it might help but you cannot turn a donkey into a racehorse...no matter how much top-level treatment and training u give him...im is still a donkey and will never become a racehorse.
That is why I maintain that these comments by Montesso are geared to tek shame outta im and Tappa face afta alla wi can see the obvious...Jamaica HAS NOT ADVANCED OR IMPROVED to WC level since the GC...Jamaica is at the very same level as they were then...and that will NOT BE GOOD ENOUGH to advance to Brazil 2014.
The last two friendlies against Panama were woefully wasted...and lost; the win against Guatemala at home papered over the cracks...which became glaringly obvious against A&B...again.
Now, if you're correct about Tappa...we will see which players he calls and begins to prepare for this USA match in Sept.
If its the same-old, same-old...I predict the same-old result...
The USA walking out of Kingston still undefeated by Jamaica...
Watch this space..we will definitely have this conversation again later on.
Again...u revert to u childish reasoning to cover up u lack of adult comprehension.
Did you read my comments before u come up with this garbage ?
My comments specifically addressed Montesso's statements which has to do with this current situation...not some budget and games 4 years ago.
Or maybe u haven't read his comments either ?
Obviously you missed the budget and request for support that was put out by the JFF some time back. Not only is your comprehension lacking, but you also have bad memory. No wonder you contradict yuself so much. Yu no remember weh yu seh earlier.
Mr MontesoI is right. None of us knew how the Reggae Boyz would play or the outcome of the first two game which garnered 4 points. Personally, I want the team to win all of their qualifiers but I also know as human beings that there will be unforeseen circumstances that will hinder their play which will make their play less than satisfactory So I won't get angry or upset like most of the ites because my player was not selected or have a personal grudge against the Coach for whatever reason. Because all I understand are the best possible players on the field were selected to represent Jamaica. MY JAMAICA. And I know they will continue to do their BEST. NO MATTER WHAT. If I seem like a blind faithful loyalist. So be it, but I will support MY JAMAICAN REGGAE BOYZ through thick and thin.
