BAYAMON, Puerto Rico–World Cup champion Spain will play 134th-ranked Puerto Rico in an international friendly in August.
Federation spokesman Jorge Carretero says the match will be played on Aug. 15, a short time after Spain attempts to defend its European Championship title in Poland and Ukraine.
The match is expected to be played at the 12,500-capacity Juan Ramon Loubriel Stadium in Bayamon.
Carretero says it is Spain’s ”obligation” to play against teams ”from all continents” and it has played most of its friendly matches overseas since winning the World Cup.
Carretero says there is no agreement forcing Real Madrid and Barcelona players to be in the squad and ”the players picked by the coach will go.”

PR hosting Spain in a Soccer match Thought they only had Baseball fields there. Waste match this! If Spain really want get a work out, they should be playing Caribbeans #1 team Jamaica.

Just looking out for their colonial brothers...lol
The stadium is a multipurpose facility. Primarily use for Soccer. Home field of PR Islanders and Jamaican baller Steven Deroux.
PR has bigger stadiums, that are also multipurpose, but they are all Astroturf, while this stadium is fieldturf

Well the Puerto Rico Islanders have qualified for the CONCACAF Champions League for the past five (5) years.
Also, Puerto Rico renovated the Juan Lobriel Stadium this year and it will reopen in August for Islanders and Puerto Rico national team matches.
Although boxing, baseball and volleyball are historically the most popular sports in Puerto Rico. Several Spanish(Spain) banks have invested heavily in the Islander and recent due to the economic conditions in Spain many Spaniards are retire/moving to Puerto Rico and establishing businesses there.
Truss mi diss is a about $$$$ and marketing the game in PR.
