The Reggaeboyz players and coaching staff have approximately (82) calendar days until they face the USA in what ammounts to a make or break "six pointer week." The results of the week of September 7, 2012 and September 11, 2012 will no doubt impact the future of the Boyz for the next couple of years in a positive or negative way. If the Boyz do well, the programme moves forward, but if the Boyz fail to advance, the programme will be stuck in the doldrums for another four years. It is time to try a new approach that is conducive to success. Yes, one that helps to facilitate a path that leads to some semblance of professionalism.
Going forward, we need to try the following approach:
(1) ELIMINATE, I repeat, ELIMINATE all "UN-SPOKEN" Rules!!
(2) Prepare a "PLAYER CODE of CONDUCT" manual and distribute to all national team players.
(3) This Code of Conduct should apply to ALL teams including Senior Reggaeboyz, U-23 men, U-20 Men, U-17 men all the way to the youngest Reggae Girlz unit.
(4) This manual does not need to cost $$$$ millions. Copy paper, staples, and a few binders will do. Hell, if it is more cost effective, you could have it hand written and then photo copied. (As long as it is legible......English please!!)
(5) This document should include, but not limited to - (A) Team rules that are clear and concise. (B) Fines associated with breaches of EACH rule. (C) Discipline Corrective action associated with each rule if broken. Example (1)* Please include specific fine$$$ for each breach of said rules. Example (2)**Please include the number of match suspensions (if applicable) for breaches of said rules.
(6) Establish player laison and a disciplinary panel that also includes a player representative who is selected by the players.
(7) Establish a "black out" period before you go leaking players business to the news media.
(8) Include an appeals process that is fair and objective. Why is this so important? Over the next two months the JFF will convene a camp or two which may involve a 30 day trip to Brazil. We cannot allow another "Panama" again. The Reggaeboyz need to spend the next days or what is left of it building a strong unit. This not the time to be getting side-tracked with garbage. I am appealing to the decision makers at the JFF to at least CONSIDER a NEW approach unless we are happy with the status quo.......the same old almshouse business.
- Peace

Lincoln,
One of the only benefits of the JFF drawn up contract I saw from March 2011 was that the players would have clearly written Rules of Conduct while on and off national team duties.
Also, establish a policy for dealing with players arrest or legal issues.
But obviously the JFF sheg it up and made it a strictly MONEY issue in their (JFF) favor.

"Ras! i knew you had it in yuh my yute! well said, however i would go further to ad JFF's guidlines of recruiting players that the recruitment should be done based on the merrit of skill and talent and not on the basis of friendship or personal relationship, and that players should be selected based on Fifa rules as far has Nationality."

We can be "GREEN" and environmental friendly so save the paper, staples and do everything electronically so tings do NOT get accidentally "MISPLACED" by the JFF.

Is there even a "Player's Page" on the JFF website? A seperate page/forum where the national players can login using their own passwords to access or post information?

Good idea. Player Code of Conduct, should be given to every POTENTIAL Recruit. If you don't like the read, step aside. This would reduce to chances of another Panama fiasco.
If the efforts of transparancy, the Rules, By-laws, and Policies governing the JFF, its various teams, and administrative bodies should be on the http://www.jamaicafootballfederation.com for all to read, so we do second guess the people incharge, and credit can be given when its due.
Even if we go to England and bring back 20 Premiership players we still have a LOOOOOOOONG way to go......... Like I have said 100 times this is not about Marlon King and folks need to seperate the issues......Marlon King is gone.......
QUESTION: Of this lot that we are bringing in - Who will be the NEW Chris Humphrey??
The coaching staff is fast becoming the man who keeps dumping women because "dem nuh ready, dem a problem" but wait......Dude, you picked these women.....Or....You keep attracting these women! Is it the women or is it you?

Sometimes I wonder what Tappa would do if he had this guy?
On the field he was absolute magic......but to be magic on the field he had to get &hit faced drunk the night before and cause as much ruckus as possible.....

Did anyone in the JFF provide these guys with a copy of Tappa Whitmore's "un-spoken" rules?

Continuing, Burrell said: "He has to also demonstrate that he is willing to follow the disciplinary codes … and with that in mind, we decided on these players."
Here we go again, those mysterious "Codes of Conduct" that Chris Humphrey is still searching for. What does this JFF "Code of Conduct" entail? Just asking.

Runaround on Ricketts JFF, Whitmore fail to explain veteran keeper's sudden omission
Donovan Ricketts - File There continues to be no clear answer from the Jamaica Football Federation (JFF) or national head coach Theodore Whitmore regarding the mysterious omission of veteran goalkeeper Donovan Ricketts from the national squad in recent matches.
Ricketts, who had been Jamaica's first-string goalkeeper until last summer's Gold Cup, is yet to make an appearance since that time, some 18 internationals later, which has included the semi-final round of the World Cup qualifiers.
Unconfirmed rumours had surfaced that Ricketts, who was a part of the historic 1998 World Cup squad as a third-string goalkeeper, had retired. The player, however, has since denied the claims. Head coach of the Reggae Boyz, Theodore Whitmore, now claims that a meeting must be held between himself and the player before he is once again considered to represent the national squad.
"We know what Donovan did, so we have to have a meeting with Donovan before we consider him," Whitmore said about where things stand with the 35-year-old shot stopper. However, when pressed further as to what exactly the keeper had done and as to what the meeting would be about, the coach gave the same response, this time, in a much more irritated tone.
"I need to have a meeting with Donovan," Whitmore snapped, indicating that he would be pressed no further on the subject.
Ricketts last played for Jamaica in a 2-0 loss to the United Stated in the Gold Cup and has since been replaced as the number-one custodian by Dwayne Miller. Miller, however, had a bit of a shaky time in the previous round, leading to more questions regarding the veteran goalkeeper's whereabouts. Ricketts, who had a strong spell at one point for Major League Soccer (MLS) team Los Angeles Galaxy, was traded to the Portland Timbers for veteran goalkeeper Troy Perkins earlier this season.

"We know what Donovan did, so we have to have a meeting with Donovan before we consider him," Whitmore said
Questions to ponder: 1. Does the (VETERAN) Donavon Ricketts even KNOW what "un-spoken rule" he broke? 2. Is it covered in the Rule Book? 3. Did he break an "un-spoken rule" by going on Twitter? 4. Has the rule book been updated to include Twitter, Instagram and Face Book?
If Tappa takes the Reggae Boyz to the World Cup in Brazil, he will be henceforth untouchable (in his own mind, at least) and will not accept that anyone knows the game as well as he does, ever again. I heard him in an interview, where he said (not an exact quote)"A lot of people watch or play football and think they know the game, but they don't really know the game." While this is true, it does not sound as if he is willing to give the average person he encounters an opportunity to prove if they know or not; he will assume they don't.

All Hail the Reggae Boyz
"We know what Donovan did, so we have to have a meeting with Donovan before we consider him," Whitmore said
In other words, "We already know and appreciate Donovan's great contribution to the 'Boyz/Ja. But we must have a meeting/talk with him in order to clarify his intentions about playing for Jam."
What is the issue?

West Ham bad boy Morrison snapped up by Birmingham
By Sportsmail Reporter
PUBLISHED:19:16 EST, 5 August 2012| UPDATED: 11:36 EST, 6 August 2012
West Ham midfielder Ravel Morrison has joined Birmingham on loan.
Blues boss Lee Clark has snapped up the controversial 19-year-old in a bid to boost his Championship promotion campaign.
The former Manchester United youngster joined the Hammers in January for a fee that could rise to £1million but has a chequered off-the-field history.
New boy: Ravel Morrison has joined Birmingham on a season-long loan
Morrison, whose United contract was due to expire at the end of the season, stunned Sir Alex Ferguson by demanding a huge new contract despite making just three first-team appearances.
Ferguson expressed his exasperation with the talented but troubled teenager, describing his demands as 'unrealistic'.
Morrison hit the headlines for the wrong reasons again in February when he was fined £7,000 by the FA in response to a homophobic remark made on Twitter.
