Somehow I feel from USA performance against a weak Antigua performance that they will not leave this group alive.

Somehow I feel it will be Jamaica and Guate in the end. Who agrees?

USA has struggles against canada, antigua, embarasing lost to a young brazil squad...u dont notice something...they struggle against concacaf teams...look at its results and last qualifying campaign...name one concacaf team that they have completely dominated...they also struggle against mexico...problem is you guys are making USA seem like they are some kinda unbeatable soccer power, thats why Jamaica lost lat gold cup cause people put that in the heads players...hey Omar Kameka what is so dangerous about usa that jamaica and guatemala cannot handle?

GDawg,

the better question might be, which concacaf team does not struggle against the USA.

For a team that everyone here is praising so much...they barely get by on their games. Thats my point..the concacaf teams are alot stronger now...you will see a lot of upsets this qualifying campaign for USA. Look at their poor performances recently...they tied 0-0 to a canada team..that barely beat CUBA.

Mexico

Really. Then why has Mexico lost so many games against them over the past 10 years?

Gdawg, what you have is wishful thinking. The US did what they were suppose to do...win. Antigua is not the pushover many would like to believe.

They didnt do what they were supposed to have done..beacuse they were suppose dto have beaten 10-0 like everyone here kept saying would happen to antigua right? Now that goal differencial will come back and haunt like what happened to JA last qualifiers...

U missing one very important thing...WC qualyfing is a marathon...not a sprint. You caan read anything into one game, especially the first gsme...as any indication as to how teams will perform as the tournament unfolds.

The USA (and Jamaica) did what they had to do..they won their opening matches..how they did it is immaterial.

If I were you, I would be more worried about Jamaica's inability to finish teams off snd giving up late goals...all the beautiful approach play in the world will not guarantee results if the finishing is not there.

I honestly don't see Guatemala doing any better against the USA than they did against Jamaica.

Sorry but it looks like Jamaica and the USA to the HEX from this group.

The US is always beatable, if you know how to play them. They love to make you ball-chase and a weak Antigua had enough sense to know not to do that. What Antigua was doing was dropping back into their zones, getting numbers behind the ball and waiting for counter-attacking chances; they actually created a goal out of this. The three goals they gave up were really soft goals.
Jamaica should not look past Antigua, they will be playing with a very compact defence, which can be difficult to break down but we do have long range shooters who can score from distance and pull them out away from the goal.

I don't agree Gdawg but I would love for that to happen. The Hex would be so wide open. You can't give the US or anybody anything yet. Look at the U-20 and the Olympics, they failed to qualify for both - it's hard to imagine a 3rd failure but who knows? Gdawg's topic isn't all that ridiculous because upsets do happen, the USA playing not as great as we thought along with some bad luck could result in what many ites feel is the unthinkable. Ric is right that it's a marathon and the top runners like the US at times start slow then hit high gear in the Hex. But it's still just 5 games left to get them there and a pair of shock results might be all it takes. I don't think it will go down like that but it's a nice thought \:\)

GDawg, I anticipate many surprises going into WC 2014; but, the US and Jamaica will be moving on to the next round. The ball is round and the field level, but not that level to knockout the US. The refs will ensure the US passage if they need to.

I see Jamaica drawing or upsetting the US/Mexico or both and I anticipate that CONCACAF teams will perform well in Brazil against more name brand Footballing Nations.

The 'Football' gap is not that wide anymore: globalization, technology, skill, discipline, organization and professional experience will play a major role in Jamaica's IMMINIENT success for WC 2014. Our National Team have moved on to another level, its not guessing and spelling anymore, but caliberating and tweaking.

Jagga, the improvement is even evident here on this forum, just look at how some ites Football IQ have increased as a result of their interaction on this site? Specifically, HI one would think he went to a clinic. Not that I agree with his assessments or recommendations, but rather his thought process at arriving at same shows sophistication in certain areas. Links and Jy, I can say the same, but they are in different league.

Suo, here is my correlation; If this site (RBZ) can improve 'laypersons' Football knowledge by participation, then a financed and co-ordinated effort like the National Team should be able to achieve similar 'relative' results.
