IMHO, King not too long come off of the plane. He was just getting a chance to reacclimatise. Not really a problem, since King is a sure starter in the big games. And Wiley boo was one of the saving graces! So people will disagree with the coach, worse if him lose. lol. But if we all agree he was still experimenting then we've learnt alot from this game - that Senior, Virgo and Grandison not ready right now (maybe in the future). That Peelhead can still play left back and that Laing and Dada failed miserably. That Reid nuh good in the air and claude clumsy (we did know dat long time still. lol. ) Claude neva touch the field against Cuba, suh him touch it today. No big deal. Marriapa goin eat im food. A paltry showing by the Reggae Boyz yesterday evening induced boos from the modest gathering inside the National Stadium as the team suffered a 1-0 defeat against Panama.
President of the Jamaica Football Federation (JFF), Captain Horace Burrell, is craving the patience of the local supporters ahead of the CONCACAF World Cup Qualifying (WCQ) semi-final, which kick-offs on June 8 when the Boyz tackle Guatemala in the opening match of the group, which is completed by Antigua and Barbuda and the United States.
"I believe the crowd that was here today is very supportive of the Reggae Boyz and though I am a bit disappointed, you have to realise that the fans too were frustrated and obviously were overcome by emotions," Burrell shared with The Gleaner.
Asking for lenience
"You can't beat up the crowd for that, we would have to ask them to be a little bit more patient. It is early days, we haven't begun the campaign as yet and it is still a work in progress and work begins the eighth of June, so I am personally asking the public to give the players and the coaching staff a little bit more time and I am sure they will get it right," he added.
This was the team's first defeat at the National Stadium since 2007 and the first at any venue since this year, having registered four wins and a draw; 1-0 and 4-0 triumphs over Cuba in a two-game series, a 3-2 away win in New Zealand, a goalless draw with Costa Rica and the most recent a 1-0 win over Guyana.
"Naturally, I am very disappointed in that we lost the game and having listened to the comments, it is clear that the management felt the same way that they did not perform to their optimum and going forward, certainly, we will see a better effort," Burrell expressed.
However, he believes with a little bit of luck, the result could have been a bit different, as the team hit the post on two occasions through strikes from Ricardo Fuller and Chris Humphrey.

"Seeing the number of shots which hit on to the goalpost, the score could have been at least 3-1 with a little bit of luck," Burrell reasoned. "But having said that, playing at home, one has to be able to win the games.
"But I'm heartened by the fact that the coaches recognise that they did not do well today and they will need to improve. So I am prepared to continue to support the coaching staff, give them all the necessary support that they need to continue to try and do their best," he added.
Burrell shied away from commenting on the performance of the coaching staff to date, as he believes they need a bit more time.
"The coaches are aware of things they have to do in order to enhance their chances going forward and I am prepared to leave that to the coaches and not make any comments," he said.
The man dem can overreact no rahtid, this was a friendly match and a chance to look at players so i cant see why all the negativity,the majority of these players wont be anywhere near the team for the qualifiers.

Yellow u hit the nail pon the head. Tappa fi go bac a seba with him raas politics. Skilachi a no d loss a di problem. A d fact seh we av a coach we keep trying the same thing fi d last 3 years and expect a diff result. Most a the problems that came out has been there for the last three fucking years. Wen him a go fix it, during the qualifiers? At least try something diff so the fans can at least seh we jus no av betta. rite now we uncertain as to our potential. That is the raas problem not the 1 luv.

Mi agree wid yuh pon da one ya Cammo. That being said, I hope dis put the spirited local balla/foreign player debate to rest onceand for all. Anybody who watched the game should have noticed how how much more confortable Fuller, King, Humphrey, Nosworthy, Phillips looked on the ball whereas Reid, Virgo, Dada, Senior looked a bit out of sorts on and off the ball.
The ONLY way we going to reach Brazil is if we focus on playing the guys who ply their trade aginst world class players week in week out. Shelton is not a true winger. He is a speedster but his crossing was poor to non-existent last night. Phillips should start in that spot for the qualifiers.
I disagree with the NOTION that the fans are over-reacting. I think the FAN Base realize that we have POTENTIALLY good players, in the POOL and on Deck. It's the on field PLAY...not so the results, that are of concern. The selections of players from the pool and the addition of players to the pool coupled with the play that have the fans annoyed.
Why we firing him again? I think it would be unhealthy if we agreed with everything he did. But firing him not going solve nutten. I think most of us would have started a side more looking like the june 8 side. For what ever reason he didn't. Everyone would agree that last night performance wasn't the best but how many saves did our keeper have to make, how many chances did we create and not take? And it is a god damn friendly game. If Tappa ever lose a qualifier him dead!! Guys with the ballers from Scandanavia and the MLS joining up with the squad from now on it will be a different looking team.
