Some of these UK ballas who man a yow bout because dem not playing regularly still WWAAAYY betta than some of the ballas playing for Jamaica right now, especially in defense and midfield.
If Jamaica chooses to re-call Marlon King, they have a proven finisher and the best in a Jamaica jersey since 1998.
Ricardo Fuller, once fit, is a must and along with Jamaica's other strikers, the team is well covered in the striking dept; its midfield and defense where the problems lie.
Zat Knight has already played for England, although I think it was in friendlies; I wouldn't consider him or Curtis Davis simply because we have players like Nosworthy, who has declared his allegiance from the start.
People on this forum slag of the Championship but let me remind them, none of Jamaica's current squad can or could get a contract in the Championship...Demar Phillips was originally bought by Stoke City when they were a Championship club and didn't make the grade, Luton Shelton was originally bought by Sheffield United when they were in the Prem, dropped down to the Championship and couldn't make the grade either.
Even if the major number of Jamaica's recruits came from Championship clubs, they would still make Jamaica a real contender in these WC qualifiers, when stacked up against what the other teams will have on the field, with probably the exception of Mexico and the USA.
Some of Jamaica's current local league players that are being called up couldn't get a contract at a Conference club, much less a Football League club, in any division.
