Portmore United say thanks in music, dance and football

Portmore United FC staged a celebration of their successful 2007/2008 National Premier League (NPL) season on Sunday at Ferdie Neita Park, and the national champions used the opportunity to thank all who supported them throughout.
The festivities featured the final game of the NPL season against runners-up Tivoli Gardens FC which ended with a draw. In an exhibition game, the Celebrity All-Stars team and Portmore United Masters played a 4-2 in finish in favour of the latter. Portmore United Masters goals were scored by national coaches, Brazilian Alfredo Montesso, Chico Santos, Ronald Small and OmarFolks, while the celebrities scored through Tony Curtis and InoRanks.
Featured celebrities included Portmore stalwarts Captain Barkey and Wickerman, Cobra, MC Nuffy, Snagga Puss, Bascomex, Ras Gandy, Mega Banton, I Octane, Beetle Bailey, John Hype, Jigzy King, DJ Goady, Mr Lex, General B and Prestige. The Portmore United Masters included coaches Linval 'Rudy' Dixon, Desmond Smith, club chairman Wayne Sinclair, Lenworth 'Teacher' Hyde, Garfield Sinclair, Donovan Dukie, Howard 'Big Mac' McIntosh and Portmore Mayor Keith Hinds.
Patrons were entertained by the Pacesetters Marching Band and the Portmore United Cheerleaders. Several fans received prizes and giveaways courtesy of Coca Cola and Portmore United FC. There was also a Mother's Day tribute made by Renegade. Portmore United Football Club expresses its appreciation to the fans, the celebrities who came out, sponsors Wisynco, Western Sports and Sports Plus.
