Sometimes we Jamaicans tend to overlook our own players and not realize their potential to be great. Sometimes it takes others to show us that we have something special. After reading some recent post on this forum it has made me wonder....

Is Ricardo Fuller, a Stoke City Legend in the Making?
Ricardo Fuller is carving himself into the history books at Stoke City where many fans are now saying that he is one of the greatest players to ever wear the team colours. After playing an integral role in the team’s promotion to the Premiership next season, Fuller is quickly becoming a folk hero to thousands of Potters fans.

Since signing a three-year-contract as a striker with Stoke City in August 2006, Fuller, a powerful and tricky player, has won over the City faithful with a number of exceptional displays. This season, he has maintained his impressive form by scoring 15 goals in the Coca-Cola Football League Championship to earn the distinction of joint top scorer with Liam Lawrence.

Fuller’s excellent performances also earned him a number of honors at the annual Professional Footballers' Association awards ceremony. He won the Signal Listeners' Player of the Year and the Goal of the Season Award for his exceptional solo strike against Wolverhampton Wanderers, the Knights BMW Goal of the Season award, the Potteries Shopping Centre Top Goal Scorer award, which he shares with Liam Lawrence, and was named to this season's Professional Footballers' Association Championship Team of the Year.

Ricardo was listed in City’s top five players in an analysis report of all Championship games played throughout the season and in a Stoke City Fanzone interview, Oruc Tezgel echoed the sentiments of many supporters by saying that Ricardo Fuller was his favorite player of all time. Another fan, TheReggaeBoyz.com forum member, RicciFullerGoals, said Fuller “is by far the most talented player we've witnessed in the last 25 years”. Fuller’s performances were so impressive that some fans are saying that he has earned a place in Stokes all time favorite eleven which includes world greats like Gordon Banks and Sir Stanley Matthews.
TheReggaeBoyz.com would like to salute Ricardo Fuller for an outstanding season and invites all our members to join us in adding your sentiments here

Look from when a large up Fuller as a true baller and team player, but man was a trying to belittle him because they saw Lowe as the man. Where is that guy anyway?

Truly a shame, Lowe had talent, but he was not the best person for the job overall.

I think Fuller is one of the most respected Jamaican player on this Forum. Yes, there may be times when people are upset at his performance in a Reggae Boyz uniform but his talent as a player has never been overlooked. You also have to realize that if Fuller was scoring goals for fun in the uniform and sparingly finding the back of the net for Stokes, then the praises would be in reverse.

I salute Fuller for an outstanding club season! Well done! I am really excited to see him perform in the EPL.

Jamaica's star studded EPL Players next season:

Fuller
King
Gardener
Nosworthy (if he joins the team)

Shaggy: You proving Jagga's point. Why did your big-up of Fuller have to include the belittling of another outstanding contributor to our national program. Do you know that almost every Latin American fan that I discuss Jamaican football with mentions Lowe's name in awe?

Fuller has paid his dues and finally is getting the BIG UP that he deserves. He is just getting into his prime and if he stays fit next season, he will be making some headlines in the Premier.

As for Lowe, he never learned that attitude is one of the ingredients to success. The young players can learn a lot from Fuller and Gardener when it comes to attitude

Congratulations to Ricardo Fuller for a fantastic season in the Championship. Continue to replicate your club form for the national team. You will be the first name on Rene Simoes team sheet for WCQ. Ricardo is a true professional athlete, following in the traditions of other Jamaican athlete heroes.

Come on home and rest up to lead Jamaica in the battle for World Cup qualification, and for Stoke to stay up in the English Premiership.

With the English football season coming to an end, several of the Jamaican internationals are back home on holidays, and looking forward to the upcoming season. One such player is Ricardo Fuller who had a fantastic year, which he copped by helping his team Stoke City to the top flight. If one was to take a look at the hard cold facts, not many would argue against naming Ricardo Fuller as the Jamaican standout player in the UK. With a team leading 15 goals and a spot on the championship team of the year, Fuller ended his second season with stoke city being promoted automatically to the premiership, one of the top achievements in his already impressive football career he says. Promotion was achieved almost two weeks ago, but fuller has not yet gotten use to it, but pointed out that the new season can't come quick enough when he'll strut his stuff in some of Europe’s great football cathedrals. Fuller says, even in the midst of his celebration, he still has one eye on Jamaica’s upcoming world cup qualifying tie against the Bahamas, and he is confident that once the players put it together, Jamaica will be there in South Africa.

I've been one of those critical of Fuller throughout the years.....but that photo and what it represents is truly special and is a great accomplishment for him, and a salute to his best traits..his professionalism and positive attitude.
