Ites,

Could you confirm the team for the Eastern Confederation involved in the NPL playoffs? Is it a six-team playoff?

I think the list is currently:

Wadadah/Negril (Western)
Meadhaven/BullBay (KSAFA)
?????? (South Central)
???????? (Eastern)

Its not a six or eight team playoff. Its 4, the winners of each confed.
Meadhaven - KSAFA,
Western - wadadah or negril
South central - rivoli or humble lion
eastern - york or bath

Wadadah cop Western Confed Super League title; eye

MONTEGO BAY, St James - Wadadah won their second Captain's Bakery Western Confederation Super League title in five years after battling to a 1-0 aggregate win over former two-time champions Negril following Saturday's 0-0 return leg final score at Jarrett Park.

Wadadah, who also won two National Premier League titles, collected the $100,000 first prize, the Captain's Bakery trophy and the right to represent the Confederation in the upcoming Premier League play-offs.

Wadadah finished the game with 10 players after Calvin Coward was set off by referee Ian Myles in the 79th minute after the player picked up a second yellow card.

Trailing 0-1 from the first leg, Negril came out the more assertive of the two and immediately pinned Wadadah in their own penalty area, creating two good scoring chances in the first five minutes.

Howard Phillips came close after about 40 seconds when his low shot from the left side of the area flashed inches past the far post.

Negril dominated the midfield for most of the game and kept Wadadah off balance with their pace and using the flanks to good effect.

Wadadah created some good chances of their own, but had problems getting a shot past goalkeeper Kevin Williams.
Jeremy Bucknor was the worst offender missing no fewer than four easy chances, three coming in an eight minute-span at the end of the first half.

He flashed a header just wide in the 39th minute and four minutes later was let through by a defender's mistake, but despite having Williams at his mercy, shot straight to the custodian.

A swift two-man combination between Bucknor and Rohan Reid in time added saw Bucknor shoot softly to the goalkeeper.

Twenty minutes into the second half, Bucknor hit a shot high over the bar from just inside the 18-yard box and was soon replaced by Lennox Whittingham

I would like to see the young Meadhaven team with some many young players qualify for the NPL. Our top youths should be playing in the NPL each week.

Well, as for me I would like to the Eastern team of York UNited to reach the NPL. They did an outstanding job, especially one they didn't have a sponsor and mere dedication from the team was outstanding.
