That is good news for them.
I still propose that we donate a trophy for MVP or most improved player. Richard Cousins is a player that I think deserves special mention for some torrid goals that he scored. Or should we give it to an u-21 player.
I was hoping Phoqry or Lionpaw would add their input as they go to the games.

Jagga, are we still doin' this? We can't let ourselves be detered by the folks on here who only have talk and not much else.
In the same token, if there isn't much participation, then it's probably not do-able...pity.

Carver2. Lets put this on the back burner as I was hoping for better participation. Again, this shows how many of us would step up to assist our players. Respect to man dem who were willing to get involved. Maybe we can organize something for the future.

Football bailout SDF grants NPL clubs $10m after first refusing to help
Tuesday, April 29, 2008
SEAGA... the SDF thought that the request was for the entire $28 million
After first refusing to assist, the Sports Development Foundation (SDF) has granted $10 million to the cash-strapped Premier League Clubs Association (PLCA) to assist with its budget as the National Premier League season comes to a close on May 11.
Only last week, the state-run SDF denied a request for a $28-million bailout of the PLCA to run the National Premier League (NPL) for the remainder of the 2007/2008 season after the association severed ties with former sponsor Cash Plus Limited.
But PLCA chairman Edward Seaga, in a press release, said there was a misunderstanding in the amount of money requested of the SDF why it was not granted at the time.
"This was misunderstood and the SDF thought that the request was for the entire $28 million. On this basis the application was turned down at first but it has now been granted based on the amount of $10 million as originally requested," Seaga explained.
According to the PLCA, half of the amount will be used as direct assistance for the clubs and the other half will be applied to other expenses.
Seaga noted that with this grant of $10 million, the budget of the PLCA has now been closed for the year. "We are pleased that the SDF could support us in this period when a difficult situation arose by making a one-time grant," said Seaga.
Two weeks ago, the PLCA terminated a $150-million three-year deal signed in September with Cash Plus Limited because of the embattled company's failure to make payment on $28.5 million of arrears owed to the PLCA. Only $32.5 million was paid by Cash Plus between October 2007 and February 2008 to the PLCA.
However, the investment entity crashed and its chairman Carlos Hill was arrested on Thursday, April 10 on suspicion of defrauding billions of dollars from lenders to the Cash Plus alternative investment scheme.
And more goodwill came the PLCA's way when only last week, National Commercial Bank (NCB) donated $8 million which will go directly to prize monies and awards function.
