First, they let Big Sam leave to Newcastle.....then sold Anelka to Chelsea and loaned Gary Speed to Sheffield United, and lose Diouf for the African Nations Cup. How are they going to compete in the UEFA Cup and EPL?

No problem brush, Bolton went from competing for a Champions League spot to possibly getting relegated in less than 24 months.

Also add coach Sammy Lee to their loses.

When was Bolton competing for a Champions League spot? Certainly not this season. They have spent the first half of the season trying to stay clear of the relegation zone. Also, losing Sammy Lee was not any great loss IMO. But the Anelka move will hurt big time and I did not remember that El Hadj Diouf is away for at least 3-4 weeks. Anelka and Diouf were certainly their biggest threat going forword and they need to get active during the transfer window real fast so as to try and fill the gaps.

I think two seasons ago Bolton was sitting 6th in the EPL tables. El-Hadji Diouf and Abdoulaye Meite are absent as they are on African Cup of Nations duty.

But as we are saying no Diouf, no Anelka, no Big Sam, they should have some $$$ from Sam and Anelka but can they truly avoid relegation while try to rebuild their team during January?

Dont think they had a say in Diouf going to the African Cup of Nations.

I heard that Bolton owners are some of the richest people in sports. They don’t spend it on the club. I hope they spend some of the Anelka cash on a Fuller or King.

Wanderers win race to sign Taylor
Bolton manager Gary Megson has swooped to sign Matt Taylor from Portsmouth on a three-and-a-half year deal.

The 26-year-old has been out of favour on the south coast so far this season and had been expected to leave Fratton Park at some point this month.

Wanderers have not disclosed the fee they have paid for the transfer, which follows the arrivals of Tamir Cohen and Gretar Steinsson.

Megson told the club's website: "Matt is a quality player who is very versatile on the left-hand side. He is a proven Premier League performer who will bring additional quality to our squad.

"He has attracted interest from a number of clubs and I am delighted that we

have managed to bring him to the Reebok Stadium.''

Now, Bibi gets hurts Bolton is in some big time trouble, I was hoping that Bibi would get to do his 10 year testimonial in the EPL with Bolton.

I don't know if his injury will have a serious impact because I think he has been sub-par at best. Why does it seem like every guy in the league is stronger than him? He keeps falling over and getting pushed off the ball.

I know Bibi is idolized by most Jamaican fans and I appreciate him because he is a roll model for the younger players, but I am not impressed with his play.

His play this season was below par, but he has played well the last few weeks.

i said this before but i was happy to be wearing my helmet and body armor at the time. his confidence is low, i think he`ll do better playing left link rather than playing wing back.

Bolton did not look good today, hopefully Bibi can enjoy his 10th season in the EPL with Bolton. Otherwise I think he should go to Spain or MLS. But Bolton should have some $$$ to improve next year.

Chisel, u notice that all our most skilled players are not strong on the ball. ex Bibi, Hue, Phillips. I do think Bibi game improved the 2 or 3 before the injury.

Bolton release Campo, Stelios and Andranik

Midfielders Ivan Campo, Stelios Giannakopoulos and Andranik Teymourian have all been released by Bolton but manager Gary Megson is hopeful of persuading goalkeeper Jussi Jaaskelainen and defender Ricardo Gardner to sign new contracts.

Wanderers finished just a point above the Barclays Premier League relegation zone after staging a remarkable escape and Megson has started planning for next year.

'Ivan, Stelios and Andranik have all done well for Bolton Wanderers and I'd like to express my gratitude to them,' said the Bolton boss. 'It's time for them to move on and I wish them all the best.'

Jaaskelainen and Gardner's contracts expire at the end of June but Megson remains hopeful of extending their stay at the Reebok.

'Jussi and Ricardo have both been excellent servants and are still very much part of my future plans for this football club,' he told the club's website.

'Hopefully, we can get them secured on new deals as soon as possible
