Demar Phillips is signed to Stoke City until 2010.
============================================================== Like I before any coach/scout can pick a quality player out of a "rucks" team.It is done every day in the USA where college players are signed by European teams. So for those of you who were wondering about our home grown player's "stock" falling because of the Asian tour........I rest my case.
There is also Rudolph Austin who can move to another European team if he wants or he could wait for the English door to open again.....

Stoke have signed Jamaica midfielder Demar Phillips for what the club describe as a "significant but undisclosed fee".
Left-sided midfielder Phillips, 23 - an international colleague of Potters striker Ricardo Fuller - has penned a three-year deal at the Britannia Stadium from Jamaican club Waterhouse.
Manager Tony Pulis told the club's official official website: "I'm delighted we've signed an exceptionally exciting player from Jamaica.
"He's a quality left-sided player with plenty of pace and one we hope to develop for the future."
We already have Ricci Fuller and tried to get Rudolph Austin....Is Demar any good?
He is a wing player- faster than fuller, accurate pasting, skillful- not as tricky as fuller and he has a descent shot.
Give him about a month to settle and you will see his worth- overall a good signing.
You should send letters and emails to your management to look at under 20 player Vernon... if you like Fuller in a year or so Vernon could be super star for you guys.

He (Demar Phillips)looks like a pretty active player.Does he stay running for 90' or does he tends to drift in and out of games aka get lost.I'm just curious if he will be overwelmed by the field and the weather or adjust immediately like a Bibi or Fuller, Straight from yard to the english game and tek it to them.
Is Demar Phillips one of the players to have emerged as a quality player during Bora's Phase 1 experiment to identify local talent. I dont recall him getting any portion of playing time on the team before Bora arrived?
i think he played during downswell young team he was running that won the carib cup(not sure) but i know he played on the team brown coached prior to bora's arrival.
OK. Some of the new players got a one-run and then was never called back under Brown. Downswell seemed like he would have experimented more but he was afraid of public pressure if he lost too much games so he never experimented to the extent Bora has. I only recall seeing Phillips on the team consistently this year. He is a nice player with a good workrate

You are right Jagga, some of the "new" ballers are players that Downswell had but he was trying to keep his job. Playing it safe in this business will not get it done. You either make your mark one of two ways.......you either push the envelope and be labeled as an idiot or you rip the envelope open and be labeled a freaking a genius, there is no middle ground. You will be fired anyway so make sure you get fired on your own terms.Carl Brown was "Mr. play it safe".......they fired him about 3 times!!!!! If I were the coach of the Boyz they would have to fire me for being a certified IDIOT because I would make sure when I am done I shred the envelope........ forget about pushing it.

If you do not "play it safe" as a Jamaican coach, you lose you job, because the people have no respect or confidence in that entity. That's why it was good to have a well known foreign coach who the people assume knows more than they do. He gets to actually do his job. If it was a black foreign coach, we would probably be calling for his head as well. Quite a shame actually, but that's the way we are. Either way, there will be those who want instant results without looking to results in the future. Those are the ones who will say "Bora mash we up" I can't believe we are ranked so low...look how our program has been destroyed. If you followed these people, there would be very little opportunity to identify other talent in the country other than those ballers who have been known since 1998.
