Jamaica's Young Reggae Boyz will be looking to reach the final of the Pan American Games football competition for the first time when they face Mexico in the opening semi-final at 3:30 (1:30 Ja time) at the world famous Maracana Stadium in Rio de Janeiro today.
The Young Boyz have had an impressive tournament so far, winning all three of their matches here and another victory against archrivals Mexico will ensure at least a silver medal.
The match brings together two of the leading scorers in the competition.
Jamaica's Keammar Daley has already found the back of the net four times to be the competition's top scorer. Mexico's Enrique Esqueda is one of four players with three goals.
Jamaica will take the field with a slightly weakened team. John-Ross Doyley, one of the leading midfielders in the tournament, will be out after he was shown a red card in the last match.
Coach Wendell Downswell says he has adequate replacements, but bringing a new player in a crucial match could affect the chemistry within the team.
Jamaica's Young Boyz are yet to concede a goal and have scored seven, while rivals Mexico have scored five and conceded one.
In the second semi-final, Bolivia will face surprise team Ecuador who whipped hosts Brazil 4-2 on the way to the semi-final.
