delano, it would be a shame if those guys never saw a JA shirt again. These guys are in JA, Bora should be working with them at least a few times a month for further development and possible use them against some local all star teams and some lesser international opponents.
8 goals to 1!!!!! Mi jus reach home and rush towards the computer to see the score, but this is not only embarrassing but shocking. Jamaica's performance on this tour not only reflects badly on our program but also the CONCACAF region. I have always wondered why Asia get more slots at the WC than our region and our tour just gave me the answer.
I don't care how young and experience these players were this drubbing is unacceptable and somebody should pay. I am willing to bet that any team out of a region like Africa would not go on a tour such of this and be embarrassed the way we've been. We need to get our heads out of the sand! Our players at home aren't anywhere near ready for football at the international level. Get away from the idea that we don't need UB40s or players from overseas. The coaching and administration at home have failed to prepare our players for the game outside of the Caribbean.
8-1!!! Mi tink dem days dey did done to rahtid.

Right. They will also loose whatever confidence they had prior to the match and their careers will be tarnished by an experimental Asian tour that resulted in the diminishment of the Reggae Boyz. In the long run this expriment might not have done anyone any good. Can you imagine how the senior squad will relate to any of the guys from this tour. I doubt they would have any respectfor them if Bora tries to integrate some of them.
How will their careers be tarnished? I doubt the overseas squad will look at the individual players any differently, as most of the local based boys now playing overseas also had their down moments. It wasn't so long ago that the Big Boys took 6-0 from England. A game I watched with a good friend from England whom I had been giving a talking to prior to the game.

Maybe the reason Y bora neva use a local all star side to judge them is because they are the best him see locally and as such if dem play a local side dem a go outshine dem and him wld not av been able to determine dem ability to compete internationally.

If they put 8 in on him, he certainly was not the problem. It sounds like whoever in Iran was bribing Ghana may have dropped a few dollars on our guys as well.

Zilla, I would compare it to the reason why Hue shines in JA but not overseas.

Iran Thrash Jamaica in Friendly
TEHRAN– The Asian powerhouse Iran thrashed Jamaica 8-1 in a football friendly here Monday [July 2].
The goal spree started 40 seconds after the kickoff and ended seconds from the stoppage time.
Playing before some 10,000 fans in the Azadi Stadium, Spain’s Osasuna midfielder Javad Nekunam took the lead for Iran, heading home a corner.
The second came in the second minute through midfielder Mehrzad Ma’danchi, whose 30-yard drive found the visitor’s net.
Nekunam, chosen in La Liga’s revelation squad, celebrated his double and Iran’s third on 17 minutes, sending in a rebound from close range.
Bundesliga-bound striker Vahid Hashemian drilled in a Massud Shojaii cross with a point-blank header to send the two sides to the locker room with a 4-0 result.
Jamaica was forced to take the ball out of net four minutes into second half, when Ma’danchi receiving a pass from skipper Mehdi Mahdavikia side-footed in.
Substitute Rassul Khatibi struck two in the 81st and 88th minutes and sub Gholamreza Enayati completed the Jamaica rout in the dying moments.
Jamaica scored its consolation goal on 84 minutes.
The Iranian team will fly to the Malaysian capital Kuala Lumpur Wednesday to play in the preliminary round of the 14th Asian Cup.
Iran has been drawn with Malaysia, China, and Uzbekistan in Group C.
If they put 8 in on him, he certainly was not the problem. It sounds like whoever in Iran was bribing Ghana may have dropped a few dollars on our guys as well.
wtf?!?!?
Oh yea, I heard about that rumour from the Ghanaians. No...they were unbelievably lucky in that game as it was.

Really, the way I see it is this. You send a team to represent your country half way around the world, you should send your strongest team, especially when the teams you're playing is tuning up for a major competition. You expose new players by adding one or two young players to your senior squad. This is why they have U21s & U19s for player development.

Many of the players hoped to impress the senior coach and any potential scouts out there watching. How many of them you think will be able to put this on their football resume? How many of them will be able to diassasociate themselves with Bora's misadventure. How many of them will become laughing stocks in the NPL. How many of them will recieve a call from overseas Jamaican players telling them about a traing camp for them to try out? Football is a business, Reggae Boyz is a brand and the players must shine even when they loose in order to market themselves.
I believe that they have themselves to blame too for not playing with heart, but sending an ill prepared team to be slaughtered knowing that many of the players rely on Football for their bread and butter/social mobility strikes me as careless.
Even assuming that it did not really harm them, do we believe that it made them better in any way?

looool, thats a bunch of bull, man. call iran whatever you want, but dont call us cheaters.
ghana was just trying to make excuses for their loss. it just wasnt their day that day. we all know that they have good potential & are a great team, we saw it in the WC. but that day, they just werent ready. so they made up some shit about us BRIBING their goalie... LOOOOL. im sorry, but thats just low. if we had, we wouldve won with more than 4-2.
and besides, why the hell would we bribe a U23 team????

Well Mr. BORAT what's ur excuse this time?Let me take a wild guess?'I am not concern about the result, the players got valuable experience out there. We r still in a lerning process.'My favourite is when him tell us "the good results will come". Mi still a wait fi that result. An a nuff man a grow impatient, so it better come an come soon.Mi wonder how him ago build back the team moral now! On the other hand mi nah worry cause a still the "c" team wi use, but the time need to come soon when him put wi first team out deh mek the people dem si whe wi stand. The Iran result nuh surprise me cause mi did kno seh Iran a bring dem Big Guns. Come on Borat gi mi di good result!!!
To be brutally honest the PANAM games we are going to get an ass kicked. Middle East player are not bad they are very technical gifted. Last nite should not occur and after 3 - nil Bora should have closed down shop and added more defenders. I have faith in Bora but this is ridiculuous.

While I didn't see the game itself... only read the comments the ites dem made but the game of football is funny and every dog have em day. Having said that, I know some a unuh ago eat unuh words.
8-1 may be humiliating but I still remain optimistic and will wear my Reggaeboyz jersey with pride, nonetheless.
Why: coz, you have to have faith... and what is faith? The substance of things hope for, the evidence of things NOT SEEN.
We've all been assessed at some point in our lives, school, work etc, etc and to gauge our competence, the teacher or boss has to expose us to some form of testing to see where we are currently.
Bora isn't doing anything different here. The rubber has now meet the road and it's time for some decisive action on his part. Remember he had asked for patience when he took the job, RIGHT. No, as usual we all "want" instant gratification. We cry for the youth dem, we say too much UB40 and now we went with a local team and because we get 8-1 we start PANIC.
All the previous coaches / TD got their chances, some got too much; well lets give Bora his chance as well.
