The Ghana Football Association has upheld the decision of the Black Meteors management board asking the Olympic team’s goalkeeper trainer to step aside from his official duties as it begins a full-scale enquiry into allegations of misconduct.
Former national team goalkeeper, Abubakari Damba who occupies the goalkeeper’s trainer position within the Black Meteors technical set-up will appear before a panel to respond to the charge as a investigations into allegations of bribery levelled against him commences on Tuesday.
Abubakari Damba, prior to Ghana’s international friendly against Iran on Thursday in Tehran was axed from camp by the management board after some players of the team had reported his alleged cash proposal to them to play a game of convenience.
Two players who were approached by the goalkeeper’s trainer subsequently reported his overtures to the team’s head coach, Cecil Jones Attuquayefio with proof of a sum of $6,000.
The amount involved was supposedly to be shared by six members of the playing squad with each expected to have pocketed $1,000 as it was claimed the money was from player agents interested in signing them on.
However that claim was realised to be untrue as the source of the money was traced to betting syndicates.
Ghana lost 4-2 to Iran on Thursday at the Azadi stadium in Tehran.

Those Iranians like to chat faawt! What level of ignorance? If we don't get them this time, Bora should arrange a re-match with a full strength squad and kick their arse. It's a pity they don't let their women in the stadiums. Can you imagine attending a football match with 40,000 men? Not a woman in sight? Wow?

Let them learn pHoQrY. We can't undo in one month what has been done to the program over the last 8 years.
Let them go through the fire now and realise that they have to raise their game to the next level if they want to be on the world cup qualifying squad.
They need to know and understand where they really stand and what they have to do in order to step up the game.
Lets see how they respond in the second half and what the report says about how they play etc. etc. What was Bora's formation etc. etc.
They are being put to the test so lets see how they respond and what their mental resolve is.

Defense takes time to build and one mistake at this level will be punished so they will learn that much like Stew Peas and Claude Davis did.
Its the price we pay for not having a continuous program, what else were we expecting?
Now with all the money that Bora is being paid lets see what the JFF does as we need to earn that money for his paycheck and while we let the overseas players rest from their long football season lets see if we can make some money off the team

Iran's passing game is quite crisp...and they got good artillery from way out. Some nice shots being taken...Interestingly we have still kept shape though too deep now...and Bora looks peeved
