Tell you the truth, I am really glad these guys are all getting this experience. I get apprehensive when I see us sending a squad of unknows overseas, but the more we do it and the more I see the same names, the more comfortable I am with it. I begin to see thee players as the squad. They are who we have and we just need to accept that and work with it. That is what we have, that is Jamaica ball, and that's it.
If the brand name players want to come in, let them show they want to do it. Unlike some here not in touch with reality, I recognize that Jamaica has a lot of limitations in the talent available. We are not as good as we like to kid ourselves. Once we recognize that maybe we can start to get something done.
I recognize that the players going on this trip are the best we have in the Island. Ladies and Gentlemen...., that is Jamaica, it is the best we have, so get used to it. Now we can sit and turn around and curse that our players are not that good, which we seem to do pretty well, or we can get behind our boys and wish them the best. Do not worry about who is not there.
Cheers.

The only limitations is our mind.
Those players right now aren't as good as the overseas players but they can't get to the highest level without putting in hard work and dedication.
What we have failed to do in the past is reward people for their work. with hard work and time comes improvement and I think that is where we are out of touch with reality.
We want the next generation of Bibi's, Pearl, Nandi and Tappa without putting in the work that is needed.
Players have to learn how to handle losses and game situations before they learn how to win and we seem to want it all without putting in the work.
Our players have shown time and time again(Claude Davis, Damion Stewart, Luton Shelton etc.) that if given the opportunity they can excel.
So why are we scared to give it to them? Now is the time to do it and not during qualifiers. It has been done before with Simoes so what is our problem?
Its our mindframe and our shortcut mentality that is holding our program back as the more the players realise that they are going to be REWARDED on a how you work basis then the more they embrace it.
These so called christians around here seem to forget that by the sweat of your brow you should get paid and so dem run fi English born players ahead of the players a yard without allowing the players to EARN their keep.
Do we even sit and THINK(a dying art these days) what that does to our program and to the pysche of these young men who aren't given a chance to at least compete because everything from foreign better.
I look at it like this
These players going on the trip Shaggy are not only the best we have but if given the chance have the potential to be the best in the world at their respective positions. So mi see it and mi nah put no limitations pon myself or my people as mi foreFATHER done tell mi say that "without confidence you are twice defeated in the race of life" (thats why mi mercilessly burn fire pon some negative mind people round yah before dem INFECT us with dem negative vibes. Dem need fi go purge and come back round yah)
Youths mi believe inna unnu as the I dem are the future.
respect mek a guy ever dare say something and see if it ago pretty

Shaggy, this is the time to experiment! Sometime before this year is over the coach will begin to incorporate the overseas players. When it comes time to play a "meaningfull" game you will see stronger teams. This bodes well for the future. Iran is going to be a test if they use a strong team.

I would think Iran will give us a stern test as they should field a strong team as they prepare for the Asian Cup which is their Gold Cup of Asia. I like the new faces of the squad but looking at the team from here(USA) i am not familiar with a few of these players. How good r these players and can they return home with a winning record?
Funny enough under Rene Simoes, the Jamaican team has become a "Powerhouse" in the Caribbean region and received "Best Mover" award by FIFA in 1996.That "Best Mover" award came after Simoes used the same group of local based players for some 25 plus games. Even after we started gelling as a unit we still came out on the wrong end of some lopsided games. One such memorable game was a 6-0 arsing in Bolivia where people like Dean Sewell had to be given oxygen because they could not breathe. The learning process took a lot of twists and turns but when it really mattered the Boyz put all the lessons learned to good use.
One of the biggest turning points in the "Road To France 1998" was our 0-0 Tie in Tegucigalpa, Honduras......with 10 men......If I remember correctly Boyd was ejected early in the game for kicking a ball after the whistle was blown(some one please correct me if I am wrong)those things are PRICELESS
I have said it over and over again, you cannot learn football through Osmosis.Sitting on the bench watching Bibi Gardner will not help a player like Demar Phillips grow.Just like Bibi Gardner sitting on a bench watching Gregory Messam would not have helped him prepare for his role in a monster qualifying game (Jamaica Vs USA in DC).That did not happen by accident.Simoes knew what he was doing. If the "care takers" were doing their jobs over the past couple of years we would not be at this point.Look how many times I have said that we are one mishap short of a disaster in the goal keeping department. ================================================================
TRY TO DIGEST THIS FOR A SECOND AND LET IT MARINATE. FORGET THE FIELD PLAYERS...If something should happen to Donavon Ricketts.........DO WE REALLY HAVE A TEAM THAT IS READY FOR QUALIFYING IN HONDURAS, EL SALVADOR, COSTA RICA or Mexico?????????????????????????????????????? YIKES!!!

Lincoln that is why Bora is working with Richard McCallum and Whittaker as he is looking at the future and see's their potential.
We need a goalkeeper coach though, and I must agree with Licoln that nothing beats game situation as the Chilean goal would have taught our defenders to always play till you hear the whistle.
That type of scenario could never be taught in practise as effectively or learnt on the bench via osmosis as Lincoln so rightly pointed out so again I must ask.
How long are we going to sit and not realise the talent that exists on both forums?
Lincoln you no see that your talent as a scout and prophet is off the charts and that unless the I go do it then no one ago take you serious as seeing is believing for them.
Maybe all we need are a few good men so jt a work pon and Lincoln and Badras a full time we stop talk and link pon the email and make it happen.
ShattaCleve@yahoo.com
When are we going to see that we can't do it alone and that it has to be a collective to get it done?
Our selfishness and greed is blinding us and those of us on this site that I am talking about knows who they are.
You will never ever reach anywhere unless you work with and try to elevate youths no matter how hard you try so please understand that!
Unnu no have no love inna unnu dirty hearts and have the nerve fi a wonder why unnu can't elevate and all a call up pon the man who tell unnu fi suffer the little children to come onto him and yet a wonder why bad blessing a ride unnu like c@@lie duppie.(old folks tale)
Chile is a good preparation for the Central American opponents and we acquitted ourselves well with a relatively inexperienced side.
Bora knows what he is lucky enough to have fallen into and my guess is that he would probably have done this for free the amoung of milage he is going to get for doing what the JFF admnisitration should have been doing and that is preparing for the future.
The price of stupidity and being dumb is steep and that is how the corporate world work as ideas cost.
We fi stop give ours away and go consult to the JFF Thats how the modern world works.
Corporations hire consultants to make them leaner and meaner and we need fi do something first where dem can't ignore us.
jt the thing ago go down and we need fi keep that thread alive. Send an invite to Lincoln and Badras fi link up and all the other man dem who mi no remember right now because a 4am
The heights of great men reach and kept.........Unnu know the rest

Hamilton a so mi know say you is a real youth(misguided at times like all of us because who am I to cast stones) but you intention honorable for your people and a just the knowledge we both need fi elevate.
Mi learn from you and you learn from me.
Now from mi see you call our Jahjesty and all of us fi get going with action and stop the talking a so mi know say you real enough fi say you know what I can admit when a next man have a point and dash weh any belly I might be carrying.
That is the key to life and a so we ago elevate.
A no nothing we can tell the youths fi get a friend or two with a video camera and we make a myspace page and put the youtube link on the page and so anyone can access the myspace and instead of talking you see the youths in action and if dem want more then dem link up for the long clip.
You know what sometimes when the father bless you with a vision a you alone have to do it so mi stop talk and start to take some of my own advice
respect

Seems as if we are all thinking the same thing on BOra's progress then. It is also good to see that we are getting better and still have "big name ballers" to fall back on.

I think they are underground for a reason. The ones I have locally get registered as Michael Smiths, etc. One revelation is that there is a lot of good talent from Mobay and Arnett's youth program.
I respect the building phase and the idea of exposing the youth. However, I am concerned about the level of opponents we are scheduled to play and the lack of international tournaments that we will be participating in b4 the qualifiers start. We are going to be at a severe disadvantage not playing in the gold cup. Not disrespecting these Asian teams, but Iran is the only team of substance we are scheduled to play. If we don't start making some head way, we won't get invites from quality opponents for practice games. Watching the Gold Cup tells me that with the exception of Trinidad's B side, with our current flock we may not have won a single match had we been there.
Its all fine to expose the youth and trying to figure out who best fits where...but lets face it, Bora's mission is short term 2010 and w/t momentum the support will dry up. W/t sucess from this team, the next WC will be even more difficult in terms of fundraising ect. This is a bussiness and anyone who thinks otherwise is kidding themselves. Say what you will about Burrell but he did play a role in getting us some decent practice games overseas.
I posted some stats the other day about Bora's career with various teams and the one that grew the most (USA), played the most away matches and against quality opponents. Clearly the US has more money but they were a bug side back then too. They played plenty of top quality teams and despite loosing, the exposure to teams like Spain, Netherland and Germany during international friendlies help them to reach the level of competence they are at now. We need quality teams to play against too. W/t such exposure, sucess against lesser teams may be just an illusion.

Why is that a revelation that there is good talent from Montego Bay? I mean we gave the reggaeboyz the player that scored not one but two goals on the world stage and unnu still no believe?
I know he was just a corner league baller with no bunch of formal training but he was good enough to tek it to dem on the world stage straight from Anchovy.
Discovered by Simoes playing corner league and unnu still a wonder why Bora nah look pon the overseas players as he knows that 25 Adu's exist in Jamaica.
You no think say Bora know the Whitmore story and saw what Simoes did with the reggaeboyz and with the new deal being fast, skillful and powerful players the one country that fit the bill was Jamaica.
You no think that he read my posts dem and realised that damn Shatta is right the Jamaicans are indeed the formula.
Why unnu think Simoes was trying to come back after all the JFF "did to him"? AFter everything why would he come back to Jamaica after coaching Brazil's women team and possible having the chance to move over to coaching the real big team which is the men's national team.
Is it because he knows that we are the real deal and the real hype. Yeah Brazil is Brazil but the reggaeboyz is where its at and a deh so the hype deh as they are the FUTURE.
Which other country sell out Wembley with England and could have sold over 30,000 more tickets? Why you think everyone in the island want to be on the JFF exec and why dem fight out Burrell?
Why would a music exec have time for football? I mean who in Jamaica right now really gives? Isn't it all about us and isn't that what America teaches?
Shatta wants to sell things and eat a food but I can sit here and pontificate pon the poor youths but what am I doing about it? I am busy trying to sell the culture but what about the people suffering? I am willing to sell their resistance and suffering but how much am I willing to give to the needy youths? Do I have a charity right now in Jamaica? So who am I to talk?
Princess wants to work with young talent like Keith Kelly and eat a food so to hell with the program as me eating comes first.
Captain wants back in as not even the bakery business can make money and is as prestigious as the reggaeboyz and having countries left and right come out in thousands to honor us.
No matter how bad our record we touch Japan right now its a sell off. Anyone want to challenge that just go check and see if we no hold the record for the fastest sell out of tickets for a football match in Japan(I think the stadium holds 65,000)
So for all of that a we a the BIG MAN but for some reason we don't know it here in reggae world.
few of us knows
jt see and believe how much money can be made in England of course he too wants to eat a food like all of us
Jahjesty now believes what Shatta has always been saying and so too Princess but now instead of us all working together we are all busy individually thinking of ways to come up.
And so we are all stuck on STUPID making nickels and dimes compared to what we are really worth.
The reggaeboyz can generate $50,000,000US a year EASY in merchandise but individually you all won't be able to see it and believe it until I show it to unnu as that is my job and my purpose and mi still a run from it.
Jagga mi see sites out there now that are waay more interactive than our two forums but people on both forum are so busy wanting to eact food ONY FOR THEMSELVES that they hold down everything so that they can have it all when its easier to make waay more money for all of us doing it together.
Its only together this can happen and we have adopted the ways of our masters. We have lost our sense of spirituality and self we are left with a shreds as in Jamaica you used to know who like you and who no like you(I am 36) I am old enough to know and remember when people who no like you no talk to you but now you can never know.
The funny thing is that you do know but you don't want to believe it and so you keep going back and they keep doing the same thing over and over again and they will continue doing it as long as you let them but the minute you put down your feet is the minute they back up and not only that respect you more for it
Jesus died at age 36 not physical but metaphorically and thats what they have hid out of the bible and make us think we can't accomplish it as he ascended in heaven. Yeah he went to heaven all right a higher meditation in his physical heavens.
Yet unnu laugh at Rasta because unnu nah hold no meditation fi see the truth. Instead of seeking the truth we run away from it only to be slapped in the face over and over again until we accept it. Thats why we face hard times as thats the only way we will rise as we will never know ourselves until our backs are against the wall.
Think I am lying? well ask yourself this? If you have recently made a major change what precipitated it and were you supposed to make that change a long time ago and didn't?
We laugh at Obeah women and men in Jamaica but those individuals are people with a higher sense of self than most people and they used to tell people things and it come through and people still no respect them so dem rally back and step 10 miles out the city and go rise a white flag with a white enamel face basin with some water and a dog or two and start chant up deh and watch the idiot dem come flocking with dem money fi hear the obeah tell dem that "him no like you and no want you go a foreign" or "hog a no you sow" and you know what dem wi owe anyone else but dem nah owe no obeah man.
You know why? That obeah man will go buy a block of ice and stone you house all night and inna the morning when the ice melt people ago say a duppy a stone you house and you ago remember say you did owe the obeah man some money and you no want him set delarance pon you. So you go find the money wherever you have fi find it.
Now me and you we show love and respect to that same person and dem not only owe we but dem disrespect we pon top of it all the help we help dem.
So tell me who is the fool now? the obeah man who used to go rum bar go act like him drunk and fall down a road side where him hear everybody business and have it ready fi tell it to dem when dem come back come ask him and the fool dem woulda murder you if you ever stop tell dem fi no rub up dem oil, bun dem incense or wear dem protective gaurd.
Again who is the fool?
Right now mi a move to where I am the modern obeah man. Yeah I am the consultant that person inside the cubicle who used to tell unnu what fi do and unnu ignore mi and demote me so mi leave the corporation and go on the outside go offer back mi services to the company for 4 times what I was making there and dem not only will pay me but dem would probably hire me on as an exec with all the perks and top salary with parachute payments and stock bonuses so again who is the fool?(thanks for the recommendation on the book "The New Rules" by John P Kotter Assassin dem book deh a big book.
IN this country people pay you according to what you know and dem no give you more than that. We can all agree on that right? I mean we all work for a living but only when you can demand a big raise dem give it to you right? Now wah dem tell you say in the corporate world?
Don't dem tell you that if you want a pay raise you more than likely have to change jobs? or quit go turn consultants do good job get hired on as exec with stock options, country club perks, private car and possible jets, balloon payments and if you dare fire me before mi eat mi food I get a balloon payment as you are paying me for my knowledge and vision costs.
VISION COSTS.
Unnu know where fi find mi as mi deh yah pon the gully side Shatta consultants a division of Shatta Logistics inc is now open for business.
Unnu no hold meditation so unnu no see the big picture and since I am the ARCHITECT(if unnu watch the matrix unnu will understand) from now on since a money unnu after and since unnu void of ideas(because unnu lack true love for the youths) No more free ideas on the forum.
Shatta Consulting a dweet and I will not only OVERCHARGE unnu but my stock bonuses will be DEMANDs that a percentage goes back to the youths.
Next time unnu link mi just understand say if we not building or talking businesses no waste mi time as mi see through unnu and no friend no deh again. Everyone is for self(including yours truly)so a moses law mi deh pon.
Shatta Cleve the talker died at age 36.
If unnu a look fi mi unnu know where fi find me

Hamilton thank you also for getting me interested in reading the bible and I started out reading so i could war with you.
ATU I can't say enough we both know the deal and I lost your number in my old phone
Assasin no say nothing
Princess wi war but no other woman would put up with me so not even mi mother
all of the I dem fi know say my ideas is not really from me but is a collective of ideas I get from everyone and put together.
that is my gift, I see the future and I see how things work together.
I see where its going before it happens and see the spiritual war coming that we are running from.
I don't fear them because I know what has to be done and what the consequences are if its not done and I now understand why they fight reggae so as its the last spiritual music left fighting them.
I know because I see it and because the blessings coming my way isn't for me but for my unborn daughter and mi no fear guy so guy can spy all guy want the only time guy have dominion over us is when we give guy dominion with our corrupt acts.
Corinthians 12 to 14 and read the part bout the hair how from when dem a fight rasta as the real deal.
Hamilton you want mi fi call in pon the show or what? talk to me boss as mi support you thing and each one help one. As long as the youths are being helped then mi no have no problem with a one eating dem food as by your works you fi get paid
Hence the law firm and the accounting firm set up comes from the so called Jews dem who got it from us and so dem have fi suppress us cause dem know we are the true formula thats why dem television a pressure we so much but its written in prophecy that the man shall come again but he isn't the saviour
The man born April 17th is just here to show the way and thats his role. My ego made me think it was better than everyone elses role but its not. Its a collective and for us to strive we have to conquer the ego and accept humility as only when you know that you don't know do you truly know.
I see why dem white boys medicinal things sell for some off the chart prices as if you want top quality you pay top dollars.
A so much cosmos out deh man? ATU again big up pon the meditation tapes and I can't say thank you enough again and again that taught me humilty like nothing else and the more you think you know the more you fall and from humbleness comes the strength to go forward.
Only the truth can set us free. I don't profess to hold it but what I can do is forever seek it no matter how many times I run away from it my goal is to seek it and elevate
Dem know its coming but dem a try run and stop prophecy(a wah do some people man?) its no hiding place fi dem but still dem ago put up a fight. Many will have to suffer and many will have to die but in the end they will thank us for it as only us alone can lead dem to the righteous path and a rasta alone out deh right now as the true way.
Not a religion but the way. Rasta is the way and that is why the whites are waiting on us to lead them as they too understand that they are spiritually bankrupt but we are scared and worried.
As revelations reveal mi share dem and just memba say man no fraid a guy. Prophecy bigger than guy so dem fi know that before mi purge them with some richie spice.
