Firstly let me commend the Chile team on sharing with us a few match footballs. Not even wi own team ever do that yet...they got x amount of ratings with that gesture.
However, when the game began, it was obvious that we were superior to them. We created more, looked in better shape, played in better shape and for some reason were never really threatened by them.
They had very good spurts of ball possession which fizzed out into nothing because of the obvious tutoring of Bora and staff. The defense and midfield moved in tandem and worked together (first in a very loooooong time i see this in Jamaican football).
Chile scored because defensively we lacked appropriate experience. The defenders and Goalkeeper forgot the golden rule (Never stop playing until the whistle blows). That pause in motion gave the scorer enough of an opportunity to take their one of very few chances.
Defensively we looked good...I was impressed...I actually liked the posture of the team. Midfield however still bothers me and the forward line needs fuller to leave it our pick up his game. Cussed him all night.
Once again the defense began bypassing the midfield, and it made me realize that the problem was with the way center midfielders handled their tasks. If as a defender you pass to a free midfielder and his only recourse is to return the ball back to you, without even turning and looking for other opportunities, you will bypass him. Our center midfielders didn't show enough for the ball and when they did, they knocked the ball back to defense, leaving the pressure on the back four. When we got away , it was from lapses (which happened very frequently) in Chilean defending.
Wolrey Wolf (not sure if thats the correct spelling of his name) came on and ruled the midfield from the left wing. He showed what proper midfield procedures are and for the short time he was on re-emphasised my point of us being superior to Chile.
BTW, Demar Phillips, Stew Peas, the other centre back Harvey I think it is, and Luton "blooodcl... im faaas eeeh" Shelton (the amount a time di girl beside scream dat it was scary )
cut it short...if u dont score you cant win...we got 5 clear cut chances and 4 half chances we didnt score any. Chile got 1 clear cut and 3 half chances and scored on a half chance.
Good game, I commend Bora on his work, he obviously has improved the TEAM. Looking forward some goals now...or a bear badwud a guh start cuss...
Some man a chat off dem mout like dem neva watch the match. If unuh neva watch di match, ask question dont mek eeediat comments...

i have to say ,i saw the reggaeboyz highlight on goltv this morning ,and the national stadium field is in a mess, that thing look like some field i play on in new jersey..how can we have world class players to play for the national team, when the football infrastructure is so bad,i watch a lots of premier LG football, and seeing the national field last night make me so a shame,i could really see why foxsoccer didn,t want to show the game,so jamaican around the world who love the reggaeboyz...lets speak out about things like this. OK,because the people who runing the JFF..don,t know the hell thay doing...........we need the english base players back in the team ,because the home base playerscan,t do the job......just like boxhill,,,,do u know how much english base players want to play for the reggaeboyz,we need king up front with shelton, because he was the only one who was trying last night,i am a big fuller fan , but he wasn,t doing shit last night. cancacaf cup start in 24hours and the reggaeboyzs are not in it that bad, that really bad,and them we say we want to go to world cup 2010, NO WAY,because jamaican football is at a all time low...........

Bora lauds Phillips for a superb performance published: Thursday | June 7, 2007 Robert Bailey, Freelance Writer
JAMAICA'S TECHNICAL director, Velibor 'Bora' Milutinovic, lauded winger Demar Phillips for his outstanding performance against South American side Chile at the National Stadium on Tuesday night.
"He played a very good game," said Milutinovic, who took over the reins as technical director from Wendell Downswell last November. "I am very happy to have somebody like him in the team because he is a good player so that's the reason why he is with us."
Milutinovic was speaking at the post-game press conference after his side lost a keenly fought encounter 1-0.
Phillips said after the game that he was delighted with his performance and hoped to maintain his place in the side for next year's World Cup qualifiers.
Dazzling skills
"I have to continue to train hard and go out there to do my best for my country whenever I get the chance to play because I know I am going to be successful," said Phillips, who represents Waterhouse in the National Premier League.
Phillips, who has played in Jamaica's last four practice matches, delighted the home crowd with his dazzling dribbling skills down the left flank and his off-the-ball movement which created a number of openings for the Reggae Boyz after they went behind early in the first half.
He also delivered a number of accurate crosses which the strikers failed to capitalise on.
"The team played good tonight but we weren't finishing the chances whenever we got them. All of us really gave of our best, but it's just one of those nights that we did not score," Phillips said.

It wasn't so refreshing when David Hunt did it for the U-17s, was it?

yu trying to stir up trouble...i talking di senior team... secondly is a friendly, not an important competition.
as it relates to David Hunt...i am still lost to how the team performed because I know what he as a coach can and has done...I watched the matches and am still surprise at the team's play.
Incidentally, I don't believe he should have resigned...but then, thats for another thread..

Thanks for the summary phoqry!u did better than the little highlight i saw on Youtube and on ESPN Deportes. As for the Bora praises for Phillips.Does this mean he is a coach's fav. and what does this mean if he starts to perform poorly in other games and still gets the starts. Also where does he rank amongst the top wing-backs we got in the national pool?
