pelepapa let mi ask yuh what part ah JA yuh grand parents from... dO YOU HAVE FAMILY BACK IN JA . have u eva been to JA
St. Elizabeth. My mother tells me her father had 2 daughters who remained in JA. Unfortunately she never got to know them and the only person in the family who knew their whereabouts died 2 years ago. For the past 5 years I've gone to JA every year, sometimes 2, 3 times a year to visit extended families. I have been cutting back lately in my effort to check out other places.

It's not only Jacans who went down to CRica and Panama in the late 1800s, there were other Caribbean nations as well but the majority were Jacans. As long as you black in CRica you grew up multicultural as far as language, food and music strictly reggae and calypso, soca now. To be truthful I would say we grew up more caribbean than spanish.
Regarding discrimination, once you black you can't escape that, but I am not going to delve into the topic because mi know some man who never left them front gate ah go come run up them mouth with assumptions.
Mi have a couple of first cousins who marry Trinis so mi have extended Trini families also. Never been to T & T, I get invited to go every year yet I haven't gone but I hope to visit soon.
