Like I said before I was nervous for this team going up against players in all the top leagues in Europe.
This is the first time most of us is seeing the side play so we did not know what to expect.
The positives: the team showed decent compusure in the defensive third going forward; particularly the left back (no.8) who handled the ball as much as the midfielders. He showed promise as far as starting the play to go forward, but not as a overlapping back.
The players really did not loose their head they kept their composure even though they know they were playing a better team than them. What I mean by composure, there was no "out-a-mi-life kind of play after they felt presurred. They still continue to try and build from the back.
They improve somewhat as the game progresses more so because of the changes Bora made. He remove no. 7 for no. 25 and no 14 for no.18.
They had one significant build up from defence to almost a shot at goal. They strung together a number of passes. Don't be discorage 'ites this is a green team.
One of the things that stands out to me of how strength, quickness, and conditioning is such an integral aspect of the game. The swiss players obviously were in greater shape and strength than us.
The midfield the midfield, O boy... it is not a easy thing to develop midfielders. When playing against European players which relies a great deal on their conditioning, quickness, and strength, the need for shifty, balance, crafty midfielders are so necessary. We do not have that yet in these young players. I see some flashes in some of the players but at this level it is very difficult to be consistent.
We lost the ball a lot in midfield going forward; intercepted passes, ball taken away, not quick enough to a ball, knocked off the ball, poor passing; the boyz who had not played a European team as this really should learn a lot from this experience.
I like what Bora is doing; this is a long term development and he should not abandon his plans. However, I see no reason why he should not bring in two of our foreign base experience midfielders for leadership.

Good analysis HI - A lot of people seems to like what Bora is doing with the youths. However, like most team building from the bottom up, I am surprised that Bora did not include a few experienced senior members to add stability and leadership to this group. This Swiss team, while providing experience for the Reggae Youths, was too much of a task this early. If there are any lessons learned from this game, then going up against a lesser calibre opponent like Panama should prove more fruitful.

I suspect there would have been difficulty getting the Europe based players for this match. I do hear that a few will be coming in for the match against Panama, which I believe is a FIFA sanctioned day for friendlies. No?

Shaggy you are right! Accordng to the FIFA 2007 Calendar - FIFA sanctioned games are between March 24 - 28th. Maybe they could have squeezed the two games within this period.
This goes back to proper planning and marketing of the games. I think a Saturday game (properly marketed) would have been a bigger draw and push back the Panama game to either Tuesday or Wednesday. This is still within FIFA days.

While there is very limited marketing being done by the JFF (they did have the luncheon with the PM), they are not responsible for game promotion, the PROMOTER is! They just have to agree to show up on the day the promoter tell them to! If they don't want to show up on that day then they can tell the Promoter it's not a good day for them. But I don't think they would have given up a chance to play Switzerland at this point. I'm sure you realiz the Swiss were using this as a practice game for their big OB debut!

Isreal i wish you taped the game or something. Yeh our midfield has been in development for year/decades. Princess JFF has a responsibility to market their team and the game, if not JFF then who? We are developing team/franchise so the JFF needs to work harder use all mediums youtube , myspace and hi5 to name a few.
