Jagga when you talk to Boxhill again, Ask him if him visit this site the REGGAEBOYZ.COM?
Ask him if there are any plans to hire a reputable marketing team of professionals to market the JFF?
Any plans to improve their website, Sell subscriptions like MLB.com to overseas subscribers for webcast games. Selling of jerseys and other JFF/Reggae Boyz products?
Maybe, engage us the fan/supports with a monthly Q/A via a site like this?
Any room for qualified Volunteers in his set-up?

Karl, I have the company that did Lockhart and also the Sunrise soccer complex (which is just some nice fields) and cost about $3m. I am hoping the academy fields will at least look like that. But my fave is Lockhart. There's a company named Clark that does some pretty nice facilities. We can only hope.

What the JFF and the Reggaeboyz truly lack is marketing and informing their fan base. There is a match in third largest city in the Jamaican diaspora and less than 10% know that their is even a match. What is the JFF needs is a monthly mailing list or email list, who receive a monthly fan newsletter.

P, you a start trouble again ehh. Unuh know sey all these Best marketeers do, is attend cocktail parties ah act gwaney, gwaney as Shaggy woulda sey. Dem couldn't care less if we the fans need some memorabilia, as lang as the shrimp and champagne a run.
Bwoy, T, I truly, truly don't know what it is. U know how I feel and have felt for many years. But every single solitary time I talk to a JFF exec I get the same response. We HAVE a wonderful marketing team! I realized about 2 weeks ago that the concept of marketing was foreign when asked what marketing initiatives and was answered 'the U17 is in training'!
You cannot imagine how it angered me. Red Stripe does a great job marketing their products world wide and as sponsors for the team do nothing for the Boyz. I see Air Jamaica spending millions and as a constant sponsor do nothing for the Boyz. Then would it kill dem fi have a mini-campaign with a few players? I just don't understand why they have a Marketing Manager who spends time writing letters to the editor and I have not seen anything else from her related to her job title. It is not her responsibility to write no letter to the editor. That should come from the PRO!!! And unu can tell her seh Princess seh so!!
Selling jerseys is the Sales Department's responsibility. Marketing is creating the desire to want to buy a jersey. It's not that difficult. They have the product already!! Dem no need fi create it. You know you coming to FL where you have so many Jamaicans. You no run a little campaign (not game promotion that is the promoter's job) to show off the Boyz. Plan something (no not a butu after-party at some seedy hole in the wall whe some show an' some no show) that will have the players meeting the fanz, gi we 2 jersey since dem no have none fi sell!
You tink me did like Rodeo b4 mi come a St. Cloud, but everytime mi open the papers mi see picture of kids in small tourneys, mi see invitation to meet the King of the Rodeo tek a picture and get free icecream (how mi fi pass dat up!).
I just don't know T. Is like dem don't want to think or dem jus' can't think. I give up. I used to think I wasn't qualified for that position. But now I realize I too creative fi dem. How u seh, 'overqualified'!
If them no get it since 1998, dem nah go get it now. U can't start to market months before WC2010. You want more sponsors to come onboard? Do something that mek dem feel you know what in the name of football marketing you doing!!
Figget the newsletter, I SHOW DEM my monthly e-news from the Bahamas Football Federation. It details "Players on the Move". From college bound to any player that get a break at a club. It features top high school players and tell you which course is being offered and where. It tell you what the BFF up to and what are their goals and plans.
But u know I hear the HV peeps seh dat them don't have them own football stars. Den is whofa fault that? No fiddem own. U have a player on the national team u no MARKET him as such (as long as him not in National gear). I hope they have a fan e-mailing list becuz is nuff Compound fanz deh a farin.
T, ~sigh~, I just don't know... Marketing is so easy now with the internet, it's easy to get the word out about an event, a competition, a TEAM!!

I did not know we had a Public Relations/Press Officer. That suggests to me that he/she is not doing his/her job.
Press Officer: Garth Williams Marketing Manager: Janice Rose-Brown
Quote:
May 2006: "For the past couple of months the focus has been on marketing, sponsorship and revenue earning opportunities and this will be continuing as the momentum rises."
Quote:
Feb 2006: "The JFF’s marketing committee has been meeting weekly to put plans in place to ensure that the federation and by extension the Jamaica brand benefits to the maximum from this game (Ja vs. England).
I must say that I am very pleased with the ideas that have emerged and the enthusiasm to which the committee is working. I am also confident that the country will be pleased with the plans which we will announce shortly.
We however can announce that the premier event will be a major fundraising dinner to which we will be inviting Jamaica’s new Prime Minister. All proceeds from that event will come to the JFF.
We will also be publishing a commemorative magazine for sale for the event.
I remember also asking if there is marketing done locally as we don't see anything here. Well, I guess the dinner went well, and I hope the sales of the magazine was decent!
