..aye Jagga,

i'm a Lowe supporter, and i wasn't watching his complex, simply because his other contributions to the game overides that. it still dosent means if his complex becomes unbearable to me, which it now is, i should not bawl out because he has a passion for the game, or some man has a passion for him.

sometimes you can cure the bad if you put them under the spotlight, but obviously that is not working with Lowe. i'm not in favor of him being the captain, nor am i convinced as yet that he has leadership qualities.

i'm still a frustrated fan of Lowe. he is a dangerous player and only need to be utilized properly. it's frightening to think about the fame he can harness if he just convert the chances he has cloaked in this complex of his.

still, i'm not about to sympathise with Lowe, or anyone who passionately thinks i'm a fool. true there is the rest of the team to scold, but Lowe had the glorious oppurtunities.

as for the bad words, no offense or pun intended.

Ok, hold horses.
I dont think his captaincy has anything to do with team leadership.
I remember years ago when I was working in St Thomas, I had an employee whose work was excellent, quality and quantity. However,he showed up when he wanted at whatever time he wanted and he was always complaining. Diciplining him meant loss of production and potential strikes. One day he got on my last nerve, so I called him up for what was a sure termination. Then suddenly I looked at him and told him that I had a lot of work do and I needed help,I offered him the opportunity to check on everyone working in his area and just make sure everything was ok. Raising his pay could have produced a better result, he glorified the concept of being called "Bushaman" by his peers.
So I think this is just a psychological move to promote Lowe's personal conduct and prevent team distraction. Preventing team distraction not just on the field is more important than promoting leadership because regardless of who the captain is Lowe is going to have outbursts, so let him have some responsibilities.
However, eventhough this is not cricket where the job is tough, a captain is a captain and at his level we shouldnt be resorting to this for pro-athletes. Lowe gets an exemption it seems, afterall in 1998, Simone didnt play him against Argentina because he was afraid that he was gonna get a red card. Makes you wonder about his state of mind

I have said this before...many times in previous posts. If Clovis lives by Lowe, he will die by Lowe. Lowe is not a true foward...he is a kind of Paulo Rossi, opportunistic to say the least. Even a baby can score with the ball at his feet and an open goal.

FACTS OF LIFE

True fowards are not LAZY
True captains lead by example
True leaders win battles
Lowe is definately not a GLADIATOR!
A cry baby is more fitting.

Hail Everybody

Joining this chat room for the first time. Lowe seems to be a very popular topic now but the problem is bigger than just him. I dont have the football experience that it seems some of you guys have had but I learnt something about teamwork during my brief playing days, and also about team management, that I can say that we are sadly lacking in both areas.

In the Costa Rica match I saw eleven guys on the field trying a thing without a game plan. That tells me that the coach fall down bad ! The formation we use is wrong for Jamaica. It is too defensive and doesnt give us any strength in midfield, where we are sadly lacking. We need to attack more and SCORE GOALS. Thats the only way to win. Our choice of playing positions for our players is often wrong. e.g Bibi in left back. Waste of good attacking talent !

That leads me to this topic. I agree with most of you that Lowe should NOT be captain. He does not have the qualities for the job. Passion isnt enuff. In fact that passion often gets him in trouble, to our detriment. But I go further. In my book the only way Lowe would play is if he learnt to play with the others in the team. There were several situations in that match where he could have just laid off the ball to a teammate who wasnt so heavily marked, and who could have had a shot on goal...but he didnt. He kept trying to do take on three defenders by himself, as if he was playing scrimmage with nothing at stake. And what's with the constant appealing to the ref ? Him is a big man and him know how football go ! Play the whistle. That kind of behaviour wont work at this level. Nuff said.
