where is robbie scott he was one of the best high school goalkeepers, he use to play for st georges college with andy williams why don't we replace lawerence with a jamaican goal keeper instead of some guy from england. There is a lot of excelent goal keepers in jamaica, we must can find a replacement from jamaica. i'm tired of every time we need a replacement thaey run to england. i'm realy upset .

just imagine what Leon Gordon must be thinkin and what it might have done to his confidence.

Third in line after Ricketts and Lawrence and so even though U may be nervous, being Jamaican U must expect to take over the reigns. And then they bring in someone from England without even considering you.......

And that sort of thing seems to be Jamaican culture.......It doesn't only happen with football.

And without trying him out.......he's assured squad status.........Remember that keeper that Man U bought.3 games and he has never worked again....They never tried him out either........They learnt the hard way.

I don't know who fooled some people but all of Jamaica's keepers in Premeir League are second rate. Gordon can read the game but his hands are much less than second rate.

The one with potential (Prendegast form Wolmers) wasted his time.

Scott is too short and he does many indiscipline stuff in the Premeir League. Trying to beat defenders by dribbling, playing basketball while the player is trying to get the ball and that is just to name a few.

Shavar:
What did you say Scott is doing? Trying to beat defenders? Whose defenders? I think you mean forwards.
If he was trying to beat the opposing team defenders then he would be a great keeper/striker to me.

Did you say that he use the soccer ball to play basket ball in his 18 yard box during games? This guy must be a real comedian.

So why is he on the squad then or even mentioned Shavar?

Maybe U should get the JFF to fix up some proper training instead of critisize the little local talent Jamaica have....Mi dun know yu have links wid the JFF.....

It sounds a bit mad to know that Ricketts is injured and your only two available GK's are Lawrence and Gordon. So U go to battle with TnT and Lawrence got injured(same thing happen to TnT against Charlton)Who exactly would of gone in between the sticks??

If I am wrong, please feel free to enlighten me.....If Gordon is a sinclair with hands shouldn't we have seeked a diver from time??
Y wait till the two keepers are injured??????

DAMN!!!! With this kind of bullshit, no wonder no one wants to invest in Jamaican football... Some people can cuss me all they like for the statements I make but jus think to yourselves......

WHAT IF JT HAVE MONEY AND WANTED TO INVEST!!, IS JT BEING CONVINCED TO PART WITH HIS MONIES.

And some people really think its impossible to have a full imported squad. If a freak accident can take out both keepers, then what if the other Jamaicans got injured....From how things run and if yu follow people with the know how like Shavar then the quality local players are already involved. So if one falls, JFF eyes are on imports!!!!!!!

So why should we fret about qualifying. In fact we might as well sabatage the rest of the local talent sooner rather than later..Seems like most are jus loafters hanging around the JFF and the squad a look a likkle food.........

JT: what the mean is that we don't really have a local keeper right now (will ready for
Feb 28) who have the international experience as Rickettes and Lawrence. It seems like Gordon is still not up to scratch and I don't know the story with Barette (the former captain)- maybe he is injury too or not fit.

Maybe they should let Whitmore keep goal. I heard that he is a wicked keeper...LOL...

JT,hold on a little my friend, who said the newly recruited keeper will be the man between the sticks come the 28th.Also why should Leon Gordon confidence be shattered,
this can only help to improve his game a whole lot more.If the number one and two keepers are out obviuosly the coaching staff will have to look for someone with inter-
national experience per say.I am not saying that the local keepers aren't up to standard,
but at the moment well.....I don't know much about this guy Busby, but I took the liberty to get some info on him from the Eagles site,
but I couldn't find anything on him....I do hope that everything will work out in the best way possible. I wonder if the JFF thought that the JOE PUBLIC keeper who is a Jamaican would be some sort of a conflict since we will be playing against Trinidad and
most of his team-mates are in the Trinidad lineup.Which ever keeper we end up using,I know that he will rise to the occasion.

PEACE EVERYTIME.

You people are idiots. This is not the time to worry about whose feelings will be hurt or confidence shattered because a new GK is brought in. Honestly speaking now, a third string GK should not ever expect to play ever. What are the chances of two gk's getting hurt? All of these ballers are professionals and know what their roles on the team are. If they can not deal with that they should give up playing professionally and play for fun in their back yards.

Yes Scott is areal comedian. Every competent keeper has been in Jamaica's National program.

jt,

JFF can't teach players how to catch. Look how may keepers in the world with proper coaching can't keep well. This new guy doesn't have to be starting in front of Gordon, but any body who has seen Gordon will know we need a backup and thay will no Selvin Collins,Scott, Prendegast are not actually safe.If this uy is solid I have no problem with him being called, but if he comes here and is rubbish I sure he won't start.

I wish we had brought the new journeyman keeper along time ago. The problem with the local keepers is that they are not technically sound. Larwrence is an excellent keeper but he has poor footwork. Hence the "Wildboy" saves.

I think Ricketts is similar but a little more balanced i.e. reflexes might be less spectacular but more of a student of the game.

I think having this journey man in camp stands really to help our program. Now if my wish could come true the third keeper in camp would be U17 or U20.

I am thinking of the local keepers who probably have the raw talent but not the polish needed to shine. With some improvement in postitioning, footwork, ball distribution and communication jamaica could have three or four very solid keepers.

I find it very interesting that Busby would come while he is looking a job.

Heh,heh, heh. Ah said it before and ah will say it again; Whoever gives us the best chance to win is who should play. You guys tickle me with this nonsense. If the local keepers are any good I'm sure they will start and like Russian said nobody declared Busby the starter.
Let's not jump the gun. By the way my research shows that Busy is struggling to make a team. He was not signed by Oxford United in the 2nd division and he is not guaranteed to be signed by Crystal Palace. This does not suggest to me that he is a top of the line keeper, but if he is better than the local guys then so be it.

Peace

Hail Red Hills Man:

Welcome to the forum, I believe it's the first I have seen you posting here;but guess what, I could not have agreed with you more. You said it more straight to the point and without any "make up".

Brethren, nuh worry yourself, I just find it so very difficult to figure out the way some of us think from time to time, so stupid. To put it bluntly, "some of us are just fucking idiots", fi real ! The coach getting a new goalie, how is that going to affect another man. We have two goalie who is out sick, do we expect that Leon Gordon or whoever he is to go into the up comming game alone ! Getting another goalie doesn't mean that the coach a diss anyone, how do we know that he will even play in the game ? You have to have more than one goalie at all times ! Like I have said before, false pride, stupidity and ego gwine kill some of us dead mi friend. Bwoy, I just hate a fucking idot.

Some of us just continue to live off false pride, acting like as if we better than anybody else in the world and in truth most of us just full a SHIT ! I am just tired of reading the nonsense I see some so call big man write sometimes.

Hail: Ddread, good topic bout the PBS/ Bob Marley special. I will give you my in put later. I can see you are still on the ball.

Hail: Russian, good reply to the goal keeper thing, Love that. As you can see, I am pissed at prolong stupidity. You must be thinking the Dart gone mad; but cho ! mi just tired fi listen/ read fuckries sometime brethren. Mi know seh every man is entitled to his own opinion, but sometimes it's better for one to shut their mouth than to open it and polute the air with pure garbage.

Dart and Red Hills Man I agree with you both. So I guess what others think is the JFF should go into the game with Gordon as the only keeper? Doesn't make much sense to me. And if the suggestion is that they should have sought another keeper from Jaamica, hey Clovis is the TD and he knows all the local keepers so guess what, he doesn't think they are good enough. No crime there. And another thing, as Dart has pointed out, Busby has not been declared as the starter. Some of you need to think a bit. We have three local keepers, and now 1 foreign based willing to play, and that is a problem. And I thought we had begun to emancipate ourselves from mental slavery?

rama: big up yourself for wanting to represent your country. But how much time you think Burrell probably hear that proposal?

You done know seh football a big things at yard and every yard man want to play. You can't expect him to work out every single man who say them want to play. You have to prove something. Wouldn't you agree?

No professional sports team of any sort would do or has ever done what you were asking Burrell to do. (unless you have someone trustworthy to the coach who will vouch for you--Did you have that?)

Now if you moved to England at 3 (or even if you were born there) were living and playing in England, you would become exactly the person you are complaining about, right? Only difference now is you live in the U.S.

If you were really interested in playing some ball you would be playing somewhere wouldn't you? Of course, Burrell is going to be more interested in entertaining someone who has shown both the interest and the ability. You would demonstrate both my playing somewhere. If you have tried but have not made it maybe you have the interest but have not reached your peak yet.

At least if you've played at a club he will have some good measure by which to determine whether he is wasting his time.

So the question becomes, are you playing either at the collegiate level or in a club right now? If not, why not?

Keep in mind that it appears that the JFF, usually finds out eventually about players worth consideration based on their performances at club or in college.

I wish you luck with the Galaxy tryout!!!!
Heh heh...

Some man throw dem corn but dem no call no fowl.......But then its only two fowl ina de place that support the use of local talent.

Rama....I got your back brethren.....Nuff man pon dis site must know seh me naw back down....Big up yuself dart......always had respect for you and your views..Nuthen no change.....But at least mi know what you think of me still.......But you dun know I aint here to be justified by the laws of man...High and low places,me a fight inequity same way.

So to the man majory or majii or whatever...This fool by him computer and keyboard wid him own money...If yu nuh like what me write..shet yu eye.Bcoz U think you are a computer guy dont give you authority about what should be typed and posted and definately does not give you a right to tell others they cant have a view....

Redhills...yu like most people only come off the hill when you want something that run out in your house.I dont know what the chances off two keepers getting injured...Dem say bad luck worse than obeah.I suppose the situation we find ourself in jus would never happen in the World Cup finals....Correct me if I am wrong.....But dont some teams carry three keepers to the finals. And if the third string keeper should not expect to play then why do squads have them or clubs keep and train them...and we have already had this discussion about local talent and professionalism....ask Dart...Him never called me stupid then.Maybe I was imagining things but are you referring to the professionalism displayed in the argentinian game in WC98...When Gardener,Whitmore and Goodison was playing against Hall,Burton and sinclair while everyone else was doing there own thing.(the arguments on the field)while Argentina was busy scoring goals. The local players were so professional about the influx of imports that feelings were running high by the Japan game and started from them guys did there video.........Maybe you should jus stay up on the hill and shut up.No matter how hard we strive to be professional,we are still human.... Anyone who plays football wants to be the best... Knowing that you are Jamaica's number three GK must be a boost. Being number three but will never play (coz in case of emergency we going to get someone else)is really a boost. But then you jus sound like the typical Red Hills Man......Run go a foreign when tings get tough....people on the ground dont always have that option.

Respect Shavar and DoubleD.Russian too ....even if you think Rama and I maybe stupid at least you have enough respect for addressing our posts at least.

Respect to the other man dem too.......No one is suggesting we go to the game with one keeper...Maybe if you actually read our post then U may get an understanding..

But then some of you should read the original statement from the papers and homeview...Though it never said that this particular import is starting, it did imply as such. They were not trying to get David James bcoz they need him to warm the bench. But more to the point,(cant call no establishment name coz dem ban that)but I am sure statements would of been made to the effect that Gordon will take over and we will fill the bench wid someone capable. Without Shavar adding to it, they have already suggested that Gordon is not capable from the things they have not said....

But maybe I am stupid.....I forgot Jamaica only want ready made talent......Leon Gordon (and I have never seen him) must have the basics to be between the sticks...So if international GK's can be made better with training, why cant he be....All I see is the typical Jamaican attitude....Whoever kept in the Japan game was shit. But I know whoever it was with training and experience he could become better.

I have no problem with using talent from anywhere in the world but does it always have to be at the expense of the less fortunate....

I have always argued this point ever since I have been posting....If I am a fool then so be it.......Bigger man than me have been laughed at a lot more...If we as jamaicans dont develop our own then who will.....To simply say the rest is rubbish and not worth it then what do we do...Wait until the Dacosta cup or Manning give us another raw talent like Prendegast and hope he has the desire to play. When will we have the attitude to make things happen instaed of waiting for things to happen.

And Shaggy though I agree with your phylosophy you extende to rama I also know there are a lot of people who have talent and dont play for clubs due to all kinds of circumstances.....

But easy yah Rama....I know the fact that man and man a family of certain man is not the reason why certain man get call, coz Jamaica is not like that.

I can only re-iterate earlier shouts..Development of Jamaican Soccer now.Training camps;& fields;coaching camps;technical teachings;nutritional teachings;fitness centres;professional development;reggae boyz promotions;etc etc.

We cant keep dissing the youths and talent and expect to reach the heights of football success.

Wow !! it's a new day, the forum really a shock out. Like the new looks immensely 'ites.

I can see that I have hurt up some man corn but heh, everyone knows what the Dart is like still. JT, no offence intended, infact if you notice, I do not use the word "you" in my post, we is more appropriate for me...meaning I do not think anyone should take on my post personally, then again, you should know that I do not massage the truth, blatant and impartial as usual. Besides, you know where you and I stand personally.

Rama: a see where you comming from, you have a beef wid the JFF, a it mek you a talk like that. Guess what brethren, business a business. I keep asking you all on this forum whether or not you are for the whole or the part and here we are, this is exactly what I am speaking about.

You may think you are a fine baller and in truth nothing is wrong with that;but think about it in a realistic way, just like my good friend Shaggey B. says. Do you think the JFF can go chasing after every man who say dem a baller without any proven track record ? You have to come with resume partner, meaning proven work.

This is crunch time. Do you expect the coach to go out and start training a new recruit how to keep goal with a crucial game less than two weeks away ? Listen to this and hear mi good ! I SAID THIS B/4 ON THIS FORUM AND I AM GOINT TO SAY IT AGAIN. I DO NOT CARE WHERE IN THE WORLD THE MAN COME FROM WHO IS PLAYING FOR THE NATIONAL TEAM, AS LONG AS HIM PRODUCE THE GOODS AND WE KEEP ON WINNING. I am for the whole and not the part, bottom line is when Jamaica do well, we all do well and we all stand to benefit period.

I keep on hear man talking FART about British based players this and British based players that. In reality, I see these players first as Jamaicans and one of us and secondly British subjects. I will also say this and I know alot of guys is going to get vex wid mi;but if it wasn't for the so call British players all now world cup would still be a dream for us whether you want to believe it yes or no. Bottom line...if their muma and puppa or either or hither wasn't from Jamaica, they could not be playing for the country.

If we all have any sense at all, we would try and learn as much as we can (local players) from the overseas based players that in time we can eventually have a team made up of strictly locals if that is what we all crave.

Brother do not put ignorance and self interest B/4 national interest, look at the picture from a broader perspective. It is because of this very selfishness why we are suffering so much as a nation today.

Look at the U.S.A, the most powerful nation on earth, they produce all sorts of natural resources, vast amount of food, technology,etc.,etc.,yet they still import professionals from all over the world,on an on going basis, that is a part of why they are so powerful.

I implore you to go to the Bahamas and see how they run things for example and you will see what I am talking about. They recruit professionals at all times to do work in their country;but guess what, they make it clear to their own that they will have to learn and learn fast from these imported professionals and as soon as them locals learn the job they kick the imports out and replace them with their own. This is what I call SMART.

I hope and pray that someday we all will find it prudent to do the same instead of fighting and arguing amongst each other, working up a tantrum, killing each other daily, failing to recognise help whenever we see it, ultimately reaching no where. Take the initiative to learn from these people, eventually bettering yourself, making it necessary that oneday you can help your brother by passing on the knowledge you had grasp from the so call foreigners.

Just B/4 I go, let me just remind my fellow 'ites that when I write I do not necessarily want anyone to agree with me, I am not a yes man and I despise the same in any individual. I do not speak with water in my mouth, I would hope however, that someway some how I have elighten someone in some positive way. Again I will say no two man think alike;but we do share common interest and in the same light, there is no excuse for ignorance in this day and age. Peace.
