Good reasoning Shaggy but that said, the Coach needs to select a better combination of players. We have better combinations of players than the team that started today. It appears that he does not have absolute control over the selection process, because Davis and Ricketts should be 'left backs' period and Stewart should be fighting to keep his game. I am not sold on Shelton I think he is vastly overated.
The Goalkeeper coach Spida Wedderburn knows the real deal and it aint Ricketts, so I am a little taken aback of why he is still in goal.
Ghana is no sops team, a worthy competitor with a good history and a tier or two above us presently.
I anticipate adjustments for the England game and a better performance. I am not sure Ghana is not a better team than England at this point, so critize but lets be constructive even though we are pissed.
I would not read too much into the lateness. I doubt they were that late they probably arrive as scheduled and prepared themselves accordingly. If they were shame and public accountability is required.
The meltdown IMO was due to the combination of players used, just not a proven enough cohesive unit and good team will make you pay.

The positives from the game was Daley, Reid, Fuller, King, JCR, Euell (only because he scored) and Crawford. The negatives were coaching, Stewart, Davis, Ricketts, Shelton and Stephenson. In these international games we must hold defense for the first 10-20 minutes of the game, PERIOD. After the game settles down then we can think about scoring goals.
This game will not neccessary reflect on what will happen against England. In fact, I'm here to tell you that we'll play better against England. Ghana was very strong, physcial and good up the middle. This gave us problems. They also attacked well on the edges (flanks). England will play a lot of long air balls which actually makes both Davis and Stewart much stronger players. The biggest issues we'll have against England are the long range efforts from people like Gerrard, Beckham, Lampard, Joe Cole, etc. These guys can crack it from 35 yards out and the Goalkeepers have to be spectacular and cannot afford to spill any balls like Ricketts did today.
Don't fret Tennis, this game was just a warm up and test for England. It is the only opportunity we would have had to see where we were as a full team prior to England, that is probably Luton got a shot ahead of Fuller, because coach knew what he had in Fuller. Someone needs to take control of calling signals in defense. The plauyers have the ability, but until they know what to do, someone needs to direct traffic. When Stewart and Davis play for their teams, I suspect they have other people calling the shots, so when they are together, there is noone, and neither one wants to be told what to do by someone they think is not at their level. So they need to reach an agreement.
Marshall would probably be good in this leadership role.

sounds like jj did ok, the caveat here is he was not really called upon to play defense, because or defenders were doing well one on one and getting the ball back up into attack.

Well, two games in England under WD tutorship and we have nine goals against with one for. The first game was a five nil arse whopping and we've improved on that by only letting in four this time around while getting one for ourselves. So, with any luck we should only let in three come Saturday while scoring two for ourselves.
Way to go ReggaeBoyz.

I have the address to Old Trafford in fact I know where it is. Here is my suggestion for WD.
Leave now and make your way to Manchester. On your way there stop off at the nearest Halfords, they are well known so you can just ask a local for directions. Take care to avoid any irate Jamaican fans hanging around outside the stadium.
When you get to Halfords ask them to sell you an AA Map of England showing major cities and town streetmaps.( Ask the staff they will be dressed in orange t-shirts and can be very helpful). They may try to sell you a sat-nav politely decline(You cannot afford it and won't understand it) and pay for the map. Remember to ask for a receipt to claim it back from NCB.
Before you leave the shop ask them to circle your current location on the map and show you where to find Manchester. Just a hint it is North West of Leicester.
Before you leave ask if anyone wants to use the bathroom because it is a long journey.
Telephone 118-118 and ask for the location of the nearest KFC get 6 or 7 Bargain Buckets for the players and whatever side orders they like and don't forget to ask for a receipt.(To claim back from NCB)
Set off for Manchester if you leave now even allowing for traffic accidents you will arrive in plenty of time for the match.(This is important) Check your watch if you are still driving in 5 hours time you have made a wrong turn. In that case stop and ask for help. As before try not to ask any irate Jamaican fans this could be bad for team morale.
If and When you arrive in Manchester go straight to the stadium you can ask locals for directions if you get lost or alternatively 118-118 can give you a telephone number and address. By the way there are 2 stadiums in Manchester you want Manchester United.
When you get to the stadium leave the players to play some scrimmage in the car park ask the groundstaff to lend you a ball and 4 traffick cones if you forgot to pack any. Play skins against shirts and tell the keepers to run laps except for Ricketts whichever team is winning after 5 minutes has to take him and he needs to work on his short passing. Even though it is scrimmage goals he can use his hands that should make it fair for the opposing team. After 5 goals switch sides.
Once you have organised the session ask the lady at reception to call you a taxi and arrange the price in advance this will avoid confusion.
Go and confirm the hotel is suitable and all rooms are paid for. Once satisfied ask the driver to take you back to Old Trafford to collect the team. Try to have a good nights sleep I know you feel bad about embarassing your country but Jamaicans can be very forgiving so don't lose heart.
Training: Ask Bibi for Big Sams number he is probably still pissed at the FA for not giving him the job so he might be willing to help if you ask him nicely. Ask him to take a prips at your training session to see if him can help. Listen to his advice he knows how achieve amazing results as an underdog. Important memo Rickets to practise short passing and catching the ball cleanly. If he drops more than 1% no KFC for him tonight.
Matchday: Arrive at stadium in the morning and prepare as per Home game at the office.
Do not be late !!!!!!. BBC has very tight broadcast schedules and cannot afford to postpone kickoff. England will start without you.

1. We have a communication problem which may not even be due to talent and undestanding of the game...may just be from lack of understanding each other...I always find it odd that I usually play alot worse with my countrymen than I do with those from other countries because we dont seem to like to make the game easy for each other meaning running into space and defensive coverage
2. We (especially some of you on this forum) need to be a little more modest about the teams talents...for exapmle Cambell-Ryce in my opinion had a deecent game, getting down the wing and crossing the ball is what he is supposed to do(however if his actions commanded double coverage becuase he was cutting in and freeing up JA attackers "THEN HE WOULD BE KILLING THEM"...that being said i agree he was substituted prematurly
3. For the same reason I turned of the link when we went 4-1 down I forced myself to turn it back on and watch it to the end because we seem to lack mental toughness
4. It could easily be argued that today we did more to beat ourselves than Ghana did...not by any means somthing to be happy about but its correctible
that being said I think maybe a sports psychologist needs to be brought in to have some one on one time as well as team discussions with the players to to improve their concentration level...and please ites on the forum i'm sure we would all be out there on the field playig for Jamaica if we could...but but we can't because some of us don't have the skills or the know how(think we do, but we don't) so stop bashing the players and the administration because i'm most of them are trying their best...this can affect the players confidence because i'm sure most of them read the forums...we have all seen how Ricardo Fuller had to struggle to regain his confidence
