I don't think it is fair to judge the man because of a loss to Brazil. That is in the pass.I would like for him to leave Southhampton as well.As much as they have underachieved, I don't think Fuller should have to be playing reserve matches to prove his worth. It would be nice for him to link up with Davis at PNE, but the fans may not welcome him too kindly. They probably would have made it to the premiership if he stayed another season, but lets just hope for the best.

Has Been!? How old is Fuller? Outside of Luton Shelton I don't see another locally bred forward that is doing anything that would merit Fuller's exculsion from the national set-up. Give the man a break he has been in a difficult position since his arrival at Southampton.

A "has been" at 26? So who are the "are nows" for the side, and where are they playing?
If Fuller was playing in the NPL right now you would hear people like yourself talking about this "youth" that the JFF should give a run ....and that is just the plain truth.
(remember that other 27 year old youth, Jermaine Hue?)

Every foward goes through a rough spell. Fuller has had far more set backs that most footballers, but keeps getting up and dusting himself off. He will rise again...Give the man a break!

Peter Madsen is looking to re-launch his international career after completing his loan move from Cologne. The Danish striker passed a medical and agreed terms this morning but the paperwork could not be rushed through by the noon deadline to make him eligible to play at Plymouth tomorrow.
The 27-year-old will take over the coveted Number 9 shirt from Brett Ormerod who has moved to Preston. And he is already looking forward to getting back in the goalscoring groove after a rough time in recent months.
He speaks good English and said: "I have had a few small injuries over the past 18 months which has been frustrating. "At the start of my time at Cologne it was OK but when you are not playing every week it is hard to get any momentum.
"There is a new coach there now and although he said I might play in the future, I need to be playing every week. "I have won 13 full caps and 25 for the Under 21 side. I went to the World Cup in Japan and Korea and to Portugal for Euro 2004.
"But for the past year I have not been in the squad because of injury and I need to be playing first-team football if I want to get back in." Madsen is in good shape now although lacking a little match fitness because of the winter break in Germany.
He added: "I might not be ready to play a full game but I have been working hard in the training camp and I am fit and I am feeling good. "I just cannot wait to get playing. English football is more passionate than the game in Germany. they fight a bit more here but hopefully I can adapt.
"I like to work hard for the team and to score goals and I want to show the fans those qualities. "It looks as though it will be hard to get into the Premier League this season but we have to give it a go. If we have a real push then maybe we can achieve that.
"I am here just to the end of the season and then we will look at it again. Hopefully I will do well enough for the club to keep me because I would like to stay."
You can watch an exclusive interview with Madsen on Saintstv.com now...
Saints are still hoping to complete the signing today of Feyenoord right-back Alexander Ostlund. And Nigel Quashie looks set for a move to West Brom. The Saints skipper has reportedly rejected offers from Pompey and Rangers in favour of a switch to the Hawthorns.
The trail seemed to have gone cold over the weekend but the 27-year-old is now reported to have agreed terms for a £1m transfer. Quashie's decision will disappoint his former club Pompey plus Middlesbrough, Celtic and Rangers who were said to be keen.
And Matthew Mills is tipped to be linking up with former boss Steve Wigley at Manchester City. The Sky Blues are reported to have agreed an undisclosed fee with the deal likely to go through this afternoon.
Yeah, but by all accounts Ormerod was simply awful and every week that is all you heard...he "runs his socks off" but he has no touch, he can't score, no skill, can't trap, etc.... You will be hard pressed to find a Saints supporter who was not criticizing Ormerod. Funny thing is that they were singing his praises before the season started and while Fuller was starting ahead of him once the season was underway.
George Burley was playing Ormerod, or "Ohmygod" as he was sometimes known, ahead of Fuller even though Fuller was clearly better.
Another player who left recently claimed that Burley was freezing out players brought in by Harry Redknapp in favor of his own players.
You can't argue with a manager wanting his own players. Still, the fans were calling for Fuller in the starting lineup based on what they had seen from him, even those who were against him at the beginning of the year. Him just not getting game from Burley.
I am willing to wager that this Madsen cat isn't anything special and that Fuller is the much better player. Though it would not be a far cry to say that Madsen may be a better finisher.

It's too late now, since the window is about closed, but the long and the short of it is that unless Burley was trying to avoid putting Fuller on display while the transfer window was open (I can't imagine that that would be the case), it would appear that Fuller needs to move along.
We will just have to see who get game after the window closes. Next game tomorrow at Plymouth.

I spoke to Fuller briefly in Southampton while passing through for work, he seemed comfortable working with Redknapp but disappointed with the performance of the team. He wants to play in the EPL but I personally believe it is better to play on a exceptional Championship team than an EPL team facing relegation. Based on last season S'hampton was relegated and Preston was one goal away from the Prem.

Now, who should be careful about what they report on the forum!

Miss P, Why?
Princess, I saw Fuller in S'hampton after the Reading match on 9/28/05, I rode back on the train with some Reading fans who were suprised about Bobby Convey. Caught a quick glimpse of Jones from TNT. But things change so quickly in 4 months of football

Is it time that we should give Fuller another go up top? When he has come on the last few games, he has looked lively and he looks up for it. He can't be any worse than Kenwyne can he? And besides, he almost scored today when he did that nice little flick over the defenders head!
He deserves a start. Jones offered nothing today. Fuller looked lively in his brief appearance - good touch and actually looked like he had some idea what he was doing.

Think he's the one player who hasn't had a go since GB arrived. Jones couldn't trap a bag of cement. Fuller at least brings others into play which was desperately missing from our game today.

The fact that Burley has ignored him to date is the one thing that convinces me Lowe has instructed him to keep Fuller out of the side. He's been the best striker at the club and we haven't used him since Harry left. It's a disgrace especially after committing himself to the club.

Fuller certainly looked better than the pantomime donkey that was up front toady called Jones, he was once again shocking and I think 240 volts put through Jones may actually help him !!!!

I agree. I've throught for a while that some of our better team performances came whilst he was in the side, even if some of his personal ones weren't. Give him a chance GB - let's face it he couldn't do any worse than Jones today, could he???
Fuller and Madsen up front for me. Hopefully they'd gel and give us a little bit of presence and ability and maybe (please Santa please!!) a goal or two!!!
