I think the evaluation period should wind down next week and now is the time to build chemistry and cohesion.

What "class" does the mediocre Shelton have? Come on, Jamatl, it's time to get serious.

Shelton has not improved. He makes the same mistakes and is not a lethal striker. He is bench material.

Thats an understatement! Bertis Bell is not bad with interviews but sucks at football commentary, Cliff Williams worst.. Bell Good youth coach.

Thats where he'll be come june 8th, on the bench next to Tappa.

Me have some names for Shelton: Darren Mattocks, Jason Johnson, Mcaully Tulloch, Ashton Bennett and Jeremy Lynch.

Largely untested and at this stage we really can't just put them in to replace Shelton. He does need a change but it will be gradual. Mattock is more lethal than him for a fact! Continue with Lynch as I saw him in one of the Monday Night games and he just hustled all throughout the game and they continuously fouled him. He was a real threat all the time he was playing.

I like that attitude and he has skills, so it was not only running but his off the ball running was something to be impressed about.

Can someone please post how did our midfield performed? Or was it just Shelton missing chances? Interested in Joel Senior's hustle and Rohan Reid's ability to hold the midfield and place some timely tackles and distribute the ball well. How was Daley?

Reggae Boyz beat Guyana 1-nil
Published: Friday May 18, 2012 | 10:04 pm 0 Comments

Melton Williams, Gleaner Writer

Jamaica’s Reggae Boyz defeated Guyana 1-nil in their international friendly at the Catherine Hall Stadium in Montego Bay, St James tonight to secure their fourth straight victory for the year.

Centre forward Jeremie Lynch scored on his debut in the second half to hand Jamaica the victory.

Watford Football Club defenders Nyron Nosworthy and Adrian Mariappa also made their debut for the Reggae Boyz.

Both Jamaica and Guyana are preparing for the upcoming World Cup qualifiers.

Jamaica, drawn alongside Guatemala, USA and Antigua and Barbuda, will play Guatemala at home in their first World Cup qualifier on June 8.

Guyana who are drawn alongside Mexico, El Salvador and Costa Rica, will kick off their qualifying campaign against Mexico away, also on June 8.

This is the worst performance I've seen from a JA team. Just imaging the game was so bad that I heard some spectators talking about 20/20 cricket. Keammar Daley was awful now I see why he cant get a game @ Preston. Although Jeremy Lynch scored his performance was the worst I've seen from a JA striker. Rohan Reid was average, Ewan Grandison had a good game with experience he will be a quality player. Shelton didnt get any service from the midfield so he was quiet for most of the game. The 2 watford defenders did ok especially Nosworthy. Marriapa was ok except for one bad back pass. The brightest player on the day was Errol Stevens he came on and changed the game. He should be in the squad for qualifiers. The goal keeper was horrible also. I think 95% of the squad for WCQ will be based overseas.

When mi see the side that Tappa select to start the match last night...a predominantly local squad with the two Watford debutants, Nuggsy and Mapps anchoring the defense...mi can clearly see wha Tappa and Burrell trying to do.

Dem still trying to give Jamaica's local players every chance to play their way into the WC side, based pon local sentiments..but...

If the local side caan beat Guyana anymore than 1-0, then..

In the WC qualifiers, they stand no chance of even getting to the Hexagon...just like last time.

Mek wi see how long it takes Burrell, Tappa and Jamaica's local fans to wake up...and wise up !

Hopefully, we will see the right Jamaica side against Panama.

Guyana has been improving for some time now and it hard to blow out a team in international soccer, so just take the ugly win. Sheldon will be lucky to make the team he so poor he reminds me of asafa

According to the Guyana coach he said his team was defending for their life, now M'fan if we have most of the possession what then is ur idea of "JA worst performance entails?"

Would you say the same thing if we had scored more goals?

Cause sometimes people's assessment not saying U, can be based mostly on goals scored, as oppose to overall play.

Explain U-self M'Fan because you were there....if possible player by player, particularly midfielders.

Ric I think they are realistic, & I think this is the last game we'll see these 'not so ready but promising yutes.' Since it wasn't a FIFA official day we know certain players wouldn't make it plus Guyana is not a formidable side where we needed to have brought our bigger guns. ALL N all Panama is the real test for the real side.

Yeah im not so worried because looking at the squad and listening to that awful yet useful commentary i can say that we are creating opportunities but we are just not finishing them. Shelton, lynch, williams and so forth are not our top or even second to top strikers so the finishing was not gonna be perfect last night. When players like KING, FULLER, CUMMINGS, MATTOCKS AND JOHNSON role in its a different story. Besides that was still Jamaica's -B team.

I thought I heard on the commentary Fuller is getting married next week in Jamaica which I suppose could affect his participation in training and friendlies.
