The PAN team that beat Venezuela twice (I believe last game was 3-1 and ended in a fight) was not the team that lost to Cuba in PTY 0-3. Thats was a 100% local U23 team and the coach was heavily critized for taking that chance playing at home. After that they went to Havana a few months later and beat Cuba 2-0 with half the A team.
I personally was not expecting a PAN win when I saw the roster and the game should probably could have been a tie but I think the biggest concern for JA is the midfield. At a CONCACAF level is dreadful. I think up front there are strong players and the defense is shaky at times but solvent for the most part but the midfield cannot win and control the ball and too often passes the ball back because there is no avenues forward or they cannot create through the middle and other than long balls via the wingers (and that was closed for most of the game)it just becomes a touchy touchy amongst the defenders. JA has the speed and strenght to overpower central american teams of the likes of GUATE but if you cannot fight with them in the middle and keep posession (and they will fight to the death) then the only options are long balls or a solid strike up front.
u forget to mention the 2:1 defeat of the USA in Gold Cup , thanx for mentioning the U23 team Pan.... used against Cuba . I always thought something was wrong .In jamaica alot of people thinks panama is a idiot team ,LOL ! As I said b4 this defeat better be a wake up call for the whole national program . Dem better get in carl brown quickly.

As any team that has improved and starts playing better opponents, PAN has had some good performances against some quality teams but also sometimes has dissapointed. Our Olympic team which were most of the guys that played Sunday, played Paraguay A team this year on an away game and lost 1-0 with a goal in the last minute of the game. This was another instance the coach was heavily critized for not taking the A team for a friendly that we dont get to have too often. I dont think PAN is a idiaat team but a team that has found a more professional style of play than 5 or 10 years ago because now the pool of players and their abilities are more suited to match those ideas.
In recent memory PAN A team has beaten top teams like Peru, Chile, Venezuela, USA, Honduras, Costa Rica, Bolivia and tied with Mexico. It has also lost to some of these teams as well.
I think the best takeaway for JA out of this game is that with the middle playing like Sunday it will be a tough road ahead. Let us see what happens Friday but what I can tell you is that for me that will be the key of how well JA does. Long passes and speed on the wings are not that effective nowdays specially with teams like USA once they figure out that is your only weapon.

Montesso has come out and admitted what we've already said..using Grandison as the scape-goat but the truth is...the same applied to Joel Senior and Rohan Reid as well...and Kemar Daley not playing compeitive club football and starting for Jamaica is a puzzle indeed.

Am hoping they come to their senses and do the right thing. We don't want history repeating itself. We have so much talent but time after time, we can't seems to get it right because we keep on with this friend business and lack of vision. There was a report on Houston website outlining Jevaughn is call up but Taylor no have ticket book, because he is likely to miss first WCQ due to yellow cards suspension.

Fuller was Jamaica's best player on the pitch in this loss over the full 90, without consistently receiving any quality service from his midfield...the two chances he had, he created with his own skill once he'd received the ball...one shot aginst the post...and the goalkeeper coming up big with the other.

Its not that they want a local based team, its just that every Jamaican supporter feels seh them a di biggest football analyst and them know the game better than anyone else and feel seh there way is always the right way. But that's just Jamaicans, that's how we are and i don't think its gonna change, but they did show alot of support to the so called foreigners, especially Humphrey (although Humphrey born a JA still). Anytime him touch the ball a pure forward him get! We just need to relax and see what happens on June 8 and stop jumping the ship.
