Sounds good to me boss. I think Burrell is more receptive to these ballas than we may think. Even if he does possess the snake in the grass tendencies that we have become all too accustomed to seeing.
McAnuff simply get call to the squad at a time when JJ was the hottest thing on the Jamaican scene and a Bolton Wanderers player and Omar Daley was looking like he would make full use of his talents. He got called to camp and the alternatives at the time looked better than him. Unfortunately they didn't make full use of their talents. When McAnuff see that the team nuh advance in World Cup qualifiers him decide fi call it quits. Just like when David Johnson get call for Jamaica and then frighten fi find out how wicked 20 year old local Ricardo Fuller was.
Anyhow, if him interested, wi welcome him. If him a wait till the team qualify to decide on him interest, then him can stay which part him deh

I agree with what you say here and there is absolutely no indication that Jobi McAnuff is even remotely interested in representing Jamaica again...and absolutely no evidence that he has been asked to by the JFF; in reality, he doesn't factor in the equation at all.
Like I've said in another post about Nosworthy, all he is is a name being touted by certain peeps who thinks and would like him to play for Jamaica again because they can see that he is a very good footballer...but that is all he at the moment...just a name.

McAnuff took 3 years to make up his mind to retire from playing for Jamaica, and I don't ever remember him being called up within those 3 years...is it a case that he retired because Jamaica didn't qualify for the WC or becuase he wasn't called up to the squad again ?
In the 2006 qualifiers, we had Micah Hyde and Jamie Lawrence in the squad and on the pitch when the 2006 qualifiers started in 2004...I watched all of Jamaica's home games until Hurricane Ivan blew me out of Cayman, to England, in late 2004.
I never heard Jobi McAnuff's name even mentioned in Jamaican football circles at that time when he was still supposedly on Jamaica's books...its a bit of a mystery as to what really happened with him and Jamaica.

But No SAH!! Dis man yah naw tek check!! Can you imagine this man on either side, but say the left side and Demar slips inside to midfield and they both interchange during games?!! Damn, I'm impressed just seeing his deft touches and body moves. That's swagger!
Him in the midfield is definitely and extreme threat to scoring. Get that Joel Senior and/or Rudi to keep running and DADA to slip passes to the forwards or just slipping passes to the forwards. Can you imagine. These combinations in the middle now have me really excited.
Keep the back four of Stew Peas/Claude with Virgo and Nathan smith I say that that team is both defensive and offensive. We could use any two forward in there. I would utilize both Marlon King and Cummings. Shelton comes on for McAnuff and DADA leaves for Rohan Reid! I say we lose nothing in offense or defense, might be even more dangerous.
However, WE NEED ANOTHER RIGHT BACK TO COME IN AND NOT LOSE THE TEMPO!!

Give me half a chance and I'll make it one
I asked someone who knows Jobi very well to find out the deal and Jobi's response was that he was good to go, but he probably would not be available until September, as he is getting married in June. Now that is what he SAID. What he DOES may be a different story. Sometimes people just say stuff. From what I understood he was ready to play, though, so we shall see. I know the JFF is trying to reach him and has his agent's contact info.

This is encouraging news for sure....
But Shaggy you could have done this a while back...seems like yu exhibiting JFF traits brethren, Hahaha.
We have Qualifiers September 7th & 11 against the USA.
August 15 is an official FIFA match date.....Jobi need fi come in by this date.
JFF traits? I consider that an insult! None of that at all. I haven't been following all the threads too closely. Like I said though, it's up to the JFF to contact him and close the deal. I think they will ultimately get through to him and IF HE MEANT WHAT HE SAID, you will see him. Based on what I heard, if the JFF follows through, I don't see why there would not be much better than a 50% chance of him being there. However, I do not know the guy personally, so I would not be able to evaluate what he said.

Good talk mi breda...a weeks now mi a show di ites dis breda yah wicked like sin mi a tell unnu di trute.
He can have an even bigger impact on Jamaica's side than Jermaine Jones has had on the USA'a team...if him and the JFF can come to terms.
I believe that the UK ballas are itching to play for Jamaica for the sake of the fans...they just need to know that the country needs, wants and appreciates them.

Ric, a tell you something, with him in the side more fans would show up. It would be great to have him for the match against Panama in may. All this quality at our finger tips waiting to be snatched.
No other side in ConCaCaf has this kind of situation with so many quality players available for selection. Yet at the same time our football organization is so slow to seize the moment.
Their disorganization J-Yute spoke of is quite telling, that's why a site like this is pivotal to our overall football direction. The fans count for sure.
I think the coming qualifiers particularly against the USA there should be a different verve in this team. There should be a new expectation since the regulars are not sure what the new recruits will bring to the team. And if Jobi comes in then confidence should rise.
Who knows Jobi may be the spark Hoilett need to finally make up his mind.
These two would definitely cause our credibility and believability to soar. Chi ching at the gate receipts.
Totally agree, HI...an u don know sey my mout no join no church..if I didn't agree, I would bluntly say so.
Look at the game Jobi McAnuff played as Reading's captain last night...no, he didn't have that much of the ball because Southampton put TWO players to mark him when he was in possession but look at the overall game he played...
He as ALL OVER the pitch, back clearing out of his defense when necessary and most importantly....leading his team as their captain...arguing with the ref when necessary, totally involved in every facet of Reading's play for the entire 90+...
This man is a leader on the pitch...
Marlon King is leading by example at Birmingham City...he's not the team's official captain but he is the team leader...
NO SIDE in CONCACAF would leave these two footballers out of their team if they were available to them right now.
Lets see how things proceed because I truly believe that if we, the fans, make as much noise as we can, we will see Jobi back in Jamaica's colours again for these WC qualifiers.
He is at the prime age for a professional footballer...he's Reading's captain...what would his age have anything to do with anything for playing for Jamaica ?
Jamaica has a very strange attitiude to football if at 30 yro, Jobi McAnuff wouldn't be considered because of age.
Maybe that's why Jamaica ends up on the losing end when facing CONCACAF's more professional football nations, more than anything else ?
I believe that the UK ballas are itching to play for Jamaica for the sake of the fans...they just need to know that the country needs, wants and appreciates them.
Most Ballaz will travel almost anywhere to play ball if the vibes right and them can express dem playing skills. Most fans will travel miles and pay nuff dollaz fe watch good Football if in the end dem feel like eating a belly full a good food. Not rocket science JFF. However, as Jamatl said, we dont wan none musicians (UB40, MLS or RPSL) ongly man wey can play wikid riddim/high level ball.
Jobi McAnuff's right hand man Lionel Morgan will be in Jamaica in a few weeks for his Grandmothers funeral. It would be nice to talk to him to see whats Jobi's thoughts leading up to 2014
Starting XI team news: Reading made one change, Mikele Leigertwood back from injury to replace Jay Tabb, who himself was still troubled by a hip problem.
First half: A wonderful atmosphere greeted both teams, with Royals fans making a fantastic noise prior to kick off, aided by thousands of free clap banners produced by the club and handed out by STAR volunteers.
The first few minutes did not quite match the atmosphere, and it took until the 20th minute for the game to spark into life. Jason Roberts had the ball in the net - but Noel Hunt was rightly punished for a foul on Lee Camp.
Then Adam Federici had to make a good low save from a long-range Forest strike, and as Dexter Blackstock tried to snaffle the rebound the flag went up.
Blackstock looked offside ten minutes later as he turned to shoot at goal from 15 yards, but Federici saved tidily.
On 38 minutes the game sprung into life with a good spell of Reading pressure, highlighted by a cracking Hayden Mullins strike that Lee Camp saved well.
Second half: Hunt had a decent chance on 50 minutes, but turned a headed wide from Jimmy Kebe's nice right wing cross.
It continued to be scrappier than Reading would like, and just when the Royals thought they could get a bit of momemtum it often seemed to slip away - as typified when a brilliant cross was well defended by George Elokobi, but somehow a goal kick was given.
Elokobi then hit a super volley that flew not too far over the bar, then Brian McDermott brought on Adam Le Fondre in search of a goal.
He soon had a real chance after being put through by a sensational Mikele Leigertwood pass, and he got there just before Camp in the Forest goal but prodded agonisingly wide one-on-one.
Reading were raising the pressure, and Shaun Cummings had a rare shot but it was well wide.
Forest were by no means out of it though, and Elokobi clipped the bar with a thumping effort before Lewis McGugan tried his luck from range. The visitors were having a decent spell.
But - once again - Reading responded and Leigertwood turned home from a free kick to make it 1-0, just moments after West Ham's draw at Bristol City had been confirmed.
And it was nearly 2-0 moments later as Camp denied Le Fondre's superb strike.
Then, incredibly, Alex Pearce cleared off the line in injury time. It was simply immense defending.
