Club still has not heard from Demar Phillips even though the club is in full training mode. The officials at Aalesunds believe that the two players are still in Jamaica........ Club director Henrik Hoff is livid and is promising to take action against both players.....

Phillips has been dropped from the squad for Saturday in La Manga, Spain. The coach has said that he will not use Phillips versus Shaktar Donetsk (Ukraine), Anji (Russia) and Kalmar (Sweden) because the player has missed three weeks of training at the club. Phillips was warned last year for the same violation and the club officials are still considering what measures they will take against Phillips. Mr. Phillips has tried to defend his actions by saying that Norweigian players go home to their family everyday and he only visits with his family once a year.

I agree. If he wants to see his family every day then bring them to Norway
True talk. Our players have alot to overcome already with negative stereotyping in the game and him doing that could make other managers in Norway decide against recruiting other talented J.A ballas. Like a fan said, he can take his family with him or in any case, being away from his family is one of the sacrifices hes being paid to make. Nuff yard based ballas are dreaming of having the chance he has and he needs to appreciate it and stop slap the faces of the people giving him that chance.

These guys get paid enough to bring over at least one family member to Norway with them.
These are grown men who should be able to handle things themselves and stop with the unprofessional attitude. I completely understand asking for time off to be with a sick parent but everything else is foolishness.

The more important thing was why didn't he communicate this with his bosses? it so hard to pick up the phone? All I read on here was, the coach doesn't know where these players are. just communicate and I don't think it is in the press. Simple professionalism.
Demar Phillips met with the club director Henrik Hoff and the club attorney and was fined $10,000 (dollars). In addition, he will not be paid for the days he was absent from work, and he has also received a written warning from the club. Demar Phillips has accepted the punishment and the club director has said that he now considers the case closed. This was Phillips' second violation.......
The club now awaits the arrival of Jason Morrison......stay tuned.
