I missed most of the the early part to the press conference, held at the office of the JFF, but to my understanding we will be signing a new Kappa deal, we will have 3 intl friendlies in Feb, on the 22 & 24 against Cuba in Jamaica, at the national stadium and Catherine hall stadium respectively, we will then play New Zealand away on the 29. Also, May camp in Brazil.
"Everything right now is well set" stated Burrell.
"I am back with renewed energy and is fully energized" claim the cappo.
Journalists were prompted not to attempt stopping the captain on his way out for interviews, because he is limited on time and will answer all questions when he is back in the island.
He will leave the island tomorrow, and will stop in the UK to speak to players and managers about the release of players on national duty call. Didn't here if there was any new addition to the current pool of players.
Congress that normally meet every 4 years and was schedule to meet in 2014, will take place on Sunday April 22, 2012. No explanation why on this case.
"Corporate is buzzing with excitement and has expressed their pleasure in seeing him back and ready to give full support," Burrell asserted.
Promises are, "in (2) days there will be an announcement to make the Caribbean happy" Burrell.
According to Burrell, "priorities is to give his all to the national program, before the CFU, CONCACAF and FIFA, which is to come after."
Budget for world cup preparation ball park figure is $5m USD.
I can't believe this bredda retake office without an apology, or explanation as to what took place in Trinidad, his only statement on the matter was that it is behind him and out the window, and he's moving forward.
Come to think of it this guy is really a dictator unuh, him hold back on everything about the programme, until the press conference, to deliver all these plans, just so he could claim all the glory, like I've said before he would've done.
How could all the friendlies happen right before his suspension and then (2) days after being reinstated to his position as president?
He obviously sabotage the programme, and very well knew before it was made known to the public that he was in trouble, hence all the big rush for friendlies before he went out, and now, again after he retake his seat. A who him a try fool?
There's no change to this bredda, he hasn't learn from his mistake....this whole thing is all a front....fony!!
He should be embarrass...and I believe something must be done to investigate into this matter, because I don't understand why NOTHING happen during his suspension...maybe all the other party need to step down from their respective position as well, because they are nothing but some USELESS COWARDS, 1st, 2nd, 3rd president and everybody suck up to this bully.
I want all the best for my country football, but I don't like the bad man, bad mind thing from the crab-ina-barel.
This is soo pathetic...and it seems everybody is going with whatever the master says...
The truth must be told....Burrell is a big controlling freak. A bully if I may!!!!
First we heard from JYute that Montesso was going to the UK to meet some of the new prospects and other members of the reggaeboyz team, but now it is the two Horace's going, Burrell and Reid.
This guy is definitely a true narcisist!
I've never like a dictator before and don't intend on doing so now or anytime in the future, this guy sabotage the national programme during the Boxill era (not a Boxill supporter by any means) and now he's at it again.....this time he shuts everything down during his absence, even while serving his suspension.
Does Jamaica really need to have a dictator like him serving our nations' football programme???
I'm remembering the players contracts and the feud over paying the players, in the Caribbean cup final right now...
Wondering if all the details for this highly touted game announced by Burrell for the February 29th game against the Kiwis is finally shaped..??
Also, who are the new recruits confirmed from his UK stop-over from Italy, or do we have to wait until next month when the Brazilian coach Montesso meet with the new prospects to know the reggaeboyz faith.
My observation is that the JFF is buying into time, and is making every opportunity of acquiring our new top class players slip away from us, with all these excuses and broken promises, to get the new players into the squad early enough for them to gel with the team.

AUCKLAND – The All Whites’ first match of 2012 is shaping up to be a leap-day international against Jamaica in Auckland on February 29.
The fixture still requires formal acceptance from the Jamaica Football Federation and New Zealand Football board approval but comments from JFF President Captain Horace Burrell overnight suggest they are keen to play the game.
A venue for the proposed match has NOT been decided yet, although McKavanagh confirmed the match would be in Auckland due to the time frame involved in getting players in from all over the world. Venue and ticketing details will be announced if and when the game is finalised.
Proposed Match Details New Zealand v Jamaica Auckland Wednesday, February 29 To be confirmed
One of the reasons for our 98 World Cup success was the amount of training the team did together. They were constantly playing teams from all divisions in Brazil. The reason why this will not work this time around is because we still have NOT identified the players that will make up the team so they are loosing out on valuable time working together to become a solid unit.
And the clock just keep-on ticking away; ticktock...tick..tick..tick..!!
Gama and Blaine is leaving the country for a seminar in Canada for the female team. Montesso leaving next month to speak with potential players in the UK and former reggaeboyz players (a repeat to what Burrell and Reid did this pass weekend, I guess). While Tappa is on the island doing interviews saying, "potential players in the UK are being contacted, but names cannot be release now."
Burrell's busy schedule was suppose to see him and Reid stop over in the UK from Italy and meet some of our boyz and club managers, where is Burrell today?
Who were the players contacted Burrell? We certainly would like to know what was the outcome..

Bless they are going to conduct a press conference 2morrow to unveil some kind of substantial sponsorship. Hopefully some light will be shed as well on the outcome of the UK trip.

Give thanks iyah...I will not stop my breath, but I'll keep my fingers cross for some good news on new recruits from Great Britain...
Can the name(s) of any potential players be release yet....JFF, did any of the potential players applied for, or have straightened out their paperwork, with the assistance of the federation, if needed?
Burrell are you still in touch with Hoilett's dad, and did Junior commit to the reggaeboyz...
What a gwaan these days cappo, yuh come out red hott afta yuh suspension, but it seems like yuh gone cold again sah?
That damn players contract is still a big stumbling block inna yuh way it seems cappo, yuh nuh zeet to cappo? and it ah cold yuh up badd to enuh!! remove it nuh...cho bloodzeed!!!
As far as I'm concern, at this point in time of preparation, if the JFF cannot release the names of any new player(s), at least two weeks ahead of a critical game as this, which happens to be right before the start of our 2014 Rio WCQ campaign, then it simple means that they are not interesting in recruiting, or they don't have the commitment from the players. One or the other.
Because, paperwork is another animal, that would take more than just two weeks to get done. Think about that for a little.
So, you would think it is safe to say...don't expect anyone new to be added unto the squad for this trip to the land down under, which would also mean that, none of the many names mentioned here on this forum of top class players will be featured, making their debut on the team.
And, as we were told by JYute on this site that Marlon has recommitted to the team, but we will not be seeing "the goal scoring machine king" until the March friendly, which I don't understand why.
Therefore, expect the same team that was called-up for the Honduras game, to be the players for the Kiwis trip, unless there's a RSPL new addition picked from the crap of players currently in training. Then again, there was some post that read, wherein Marcus Bean was contacted on a social network, by a fan, and according to the post he stated that he was not contacted as yet by the JFF about the Kiwis game, but would like to be included. Hopefully he was finally contacted, because he deserves his fair share of time, to display what he has to offer to the nation.
So little do we know what's really in the plans for the ReggaeBoyz. We will see very soon anyway. Surprise me JFF!!

Burrell, the president of the Jamaica Football Federation (JFF), explained that the philosophy of his administration to maintain a flock of resident players in local training camps serves in part to provide these footballers with an avenue to showcase their stuff. It just keep getting better!!
BURRELL... now they will have all the chances in the world to impress the coaching staff
"There have been talks that our local-based players are not getting the chance, now they will have all the chances in the world to impress the coaching staff, they will get the opportunity and I am hoping they will make use of it,". said the football executive as he announced more games for the senior Reggae Boyz in addition to three others confirmed for this month. How could we have all missed this, that the opportunities in the pass 3 years were exclusively given to our foreign-based players and not the local-based players? What a shame!!!
In addition to two games against Cuba at the National Stadium on February 22 and two days later at the Montego Bay Sports Complex, plus another away to New Zealand on the 29th, the Boyz have booked home games against Costa Rica on March 21 and Panama on May 27.
"It's a tremendous opportunity (for local players), especially against the kind of teams we will be playing and this will test the true mettle of our local-based players... to me that's very important because we want to involve "ALL" our players, those who ply their trade here in the National Premier League and those who do so overseas," said Burrell, who also serves CONCACAF as a member of its executive.
He said that the home games will be played outside of the FIFA calendar for international friendly matches, therefore the team will be made up of mostly players from the local-based pool.
For the Cuba ties, only three USA-based players in Jermaine Taylor, Jevaughn Watson and Ryan Johnson will be available.
"Many of the foreign players may not be available and the local players who have been showing form will now get their chance to prove their worth and give coach Whitmore and his staff a better insight as to their quality and competence at the highest level," Burrell said.
I really do not expected anything more than 1 or 2 new foreign-based players for any of the February friendlies.
It is better to compromise/coordinate with the club managers, now, so the players will be match fit in June.
Now, come late April/May the JFF should accept no excuses from club managers.
Whitmore 'impressed' with locals
Published: Sunday | February 26, 2012 0 Comments Whitmore Audley Boyd, Assistant Editor - Sport
National senior football team head coach, Theodore 'Tappa' Whitmore, underlined his belief in the local-based Reggae Boyz quorum, following the team's 3-0 victory over Cuba in a friendly international at the Montego Bay Sports Complex on Friday night.
"Things we did in training you could see it played out," noted Whitmore in a post-game media interview. "We played with a lot of confidence, we were a bit positive, organised.
"I'm very impressed with the local players we have ... the tactics and the discipline they displayed, so basically it's a whole culmination of things," he pointed out.
Ryan Johnson (35th minute), Je-Vaughn Watson (37th) and Mitchily Waul (83rd) scored for Jamaica.
Busy attacking left full back, Andrae Campbell, supplied crosses from the flank that created the goals in the first half, with Dino Williams nodding on the ball to the far post for Johnson to score the opener.
Cuba missed a penalty - their only real chance at scoring - while trailing 2-0, when Keiler Garcia Estrada shot high over the bar at the 75th minute. Estrada earned the spot kick after being tripped in the box by right full back Xavian Virgo.
The win was Jamaica's second over their Caribbean neighbours inside two days, as they recorded a 1-0 success at the National Stadium on Wednesday through an 85th minute strike by 17-year-old schoolboy debutant, Jorginho James of Kingston College, who did not see a minute of Friday's game.
Whitmore was pleased with the overall improvement in the follow-up game.
"The first half of the first game was a bit off, but tonight (Friday) we saw signs of positive (things). We were more organised tonight, we created a number of opportunities, but we failed to capitalise on them," he assessed. "We're going through a process now and we just have to accept the fact ... and move on."
The games, the first for the Boyz on home soil in almost a year, form part of Jamaica's World Cup preparation, with CONCACAF semi-final qualifiers beginning in June.
"It helped us a lot in preparing for our World Cup qualification,"the Jamaican coach noted of the dual-game series, which also serves as part of the selection process, mainly as it relates to the local-based core.
"There's not one given player who is a part of this setup, each player has to play and earn one of the 11 shirts," Whitmore stressed. "It (game) gives the local-based players a chance to really express themselves and try to be a part of the World Cup qualification." What happen to the chances for our Jamaicans offsrings born in europe, who qualifies to represent yard throught their jamaican born parents or grand parents?
positive contributions
Besides the regulars, including first-half scorers Johnson and Watson who play professionally in the United States' Major League Soccer, Campbell, recalled midfielders Jermaine Hue and Rohan Reid, appeared to have done most to earn another look-in by making positive contributions and not turning over the ball regularly. Smith and Hue were substituted at the half.
Prior to that, they helped Jamaica maintain full control against a weak Cuba team that, despite organising well in tactical formations, did not produce the required alterations through movement to prevent the constant Jamaican offensives from making good goal opportunities.
Their weakness was highlighted even further in the second half when Jamaica's game disintegrated badly with some horrible passing and the locals were still able to sieve through their defense and create openings. That's how weak the Cubans are, and even though our game was not played with cohesion, still yet we give high praises to our local players and is willingly to settle for compromise...
Offensively, Cuba could hardlyput four passes together, but Whitmore didn't mind as the two-match confrontation increased his optimism for the local core, which flew out yesterday for a Wednesday matchup against New Zealand, and several other friendlies ahead of Jamaica's opening World Cup schedule against Guatemala on June 8.
"We've a couple of games coming up. We've New Zealand, Panama and Costa Rica and these players are the same players who are going to play," the coach pointed out. "So it's for them not just to show in the Cuba game, but the games to come."

FORMER national midfielder Altimont Butler who presently coaches in the Norway first division with Nottoden SK, is on a one-week scouting mission in the island and hopes some young talent will impress him and grab an opportunity to ply their trade in the European country.
Butler is keen to give a new generation of Jamaican players a shot at playing in Norway, provided they make the grade and have the right attitude.
The Port Royal native said they will be scouting players from age 17 and 22 years and will be watching some Premier League matches this evening, as well as the Monday night match between Harbour View against Tivoli.
He said he watched both friendly matches between Jamaica and Cuba but was not impressed with the standard. He said he would have loved to see more of 17-year-old goalscorer Jorginho James before he could make an accurate judgement on his abilities.
"There was not much we could have taken away from that game," he pointed out, "but he came in and didn't play much minutes and scored a goal.. so it would be unfair to judge him based on that one goal...," he said.
He said that he and his colleagues have received advice on the players they could look at, but he believes moving off their own accord and going with an open mind will help them make better judgements. Love that Butler, caah dem yardie deh can be too bias at times

Well there are 0 new foreign-based, but what confused me is why they left out all the European-based players who have been committed to Jamaica. I'm not talking about the guys like Pratley, Humphrey, and Beckford who have always seemed to be close but not quite Jamaican players but I mean Fuller, King, Omar Daley, Phillips, Austin, JCR, Pepe, JJ, etc. (though maybe not so much JJ from some of the rumblings I have heard). Most of these players would be in what many people would consider to be the Jamaican "A" team and, while I wouldn't expect all of them, the last time I can remember even many of these players were together was during the last World Cup Qualifiers. This is the last FIFA date before the Qualifiers so this is the last chance to get these players together before then. I am sure many of these players, and specifically guys like Fuller and JCR who are having trouble getting playing time, would have been up for the trip. This is after the JFF claimed to be making a big effort in England to bring in players. Some of these players like King, McAnuff, and JJ would not be available until basically late May/early June if their sides make the playoffs. Makes me wonder if we'll ever see the Jamaican A team any time soon.
So, coach Whitmore is proving a point to the locals, that he will not bow to our request for the best players (UK-born Jamaicans) to be included on the ReggaeBoyz team, by not selecting quality players in the likes of Pratley, King, McAnuff, Norsworthy, Beckford, Hoilett, Simpson et al., and have settle to compromised with going with a weak local-based squad...very disappointed!!!

Folks, you can sit here and let them disappoint you. I will do no such thing...........Coaches are very unique creatures....They all have their favourite players and Whitmore is no different. Last World Cup cycle Simoes refused to call the better players for the first two opening games and cited JET LAG for not inviting some England based players......People like Deon Burton and Ricardo Gardner must have been IMMUNE to jet lag.
Take note people and look at the squad bound for Kiwi-land.......It gives you a kind of Gold Cup like feel- right? Please don't fall out your chairs in June when some of your favourite players are OMMITTED in favour of people like Navion Boyd, Jermaine Taylor, Adrian Reid, Shavar Thomas, Bigga Thompson and others ....
