Well i know that every reggae boyz fans is upset by the selections that our current JFF are making but u have to realize that not all the players want to play for jamaica....for e.g. JERMAINE PENNANT, he would rather play for Ireland than to play for us...and DANIEL STURRIDGE, its only a matter of time before he plays for england so that would be a waste of time calling him up.... Now to the players we do have like RICARDO FULLER N RICARDO GARDENER, CLAUDE DAVIS, AND THE STEWARTS....they are all 32 plus n wud not make any sense to be called up bcuz they will be too old for the squad for 2014...so even though im upset about our defense line n been humiliated by Ecuador im nt too worried about it bcuz even J.TAYLOR N DIC.WILLIAMS didnt play yesterday so i wouldnt be too worried about that....
NOW GIVE ME SOME FEEDBACK ON WHAT YOU THINK???
If you had to choose between the 30+ skilled, full-time professionals like Fuller, Gardner, Stewart, Omar Daley and others and the DPL 'scrimmage' ballas we saw on show against Ecuador, the 30+s gets my vote everytime.
Players only reach their peak in their late 20s and depending on how they take care of themselves and the injury situation, can and do maintain that level of playing ability well into their 30s.
If Jamaica does not reassemble a proper team made up of the best PROFESSIONAL footballers available to play for Jamaica, we can forget about Jamaica and Brazil 2014.

Yeah, this looking more like a proper Jamaica squad....but is Tappa Whitmore capable of coaching players of a calibre that is higher than the level of club football that he played.
Some of these players named here are established Premiereship players or have played in the Premiership in the past and even the Championship players are playing at a level way past Tappa's experience as a player...
This is looking to be a worrying situation for Jamaica....
Yes, Jamaica has the players out there but does Jamaica have the right coach ?
My strong doubts were raised at the Gold Cup and are even stronger now.
FORT LAUDERDALE, Florida — Local-based newcomers Errol Stevens of Arnett Gardens and Portmore United's Ewan Grandison, joined overseas-based Jermaine Taylor and Omar Daley as the Reggae Boyz had a training session yesterday in preparation for their 7:00 pm (Jamaican time) match against Colombia tomorrow.
Striker Stevens, 25, and Grandison 20, replaced Troy Smith and Andrew Vanzie, who both came on as substitutes against Ecuador, but returned home Saturday.
Meanwhile, Taylor, who missed the Ecuador game because of visa issues, arrived at the Holiday Inn here while training was in progress, quickly changed and joined his teammates for the last half an hour.
Lovell Palmer of US Major League Portland Timber and Jason Morrison of Norwegian outfit Aalesunds FK are expected to join the squad.
"We have young Grandison and Stevens for the first time in the senior team, Taylor has just joined us, another plus for the team in a very important game," said head coach Theodore Whitmore.
Jamaica are coming off back-to-back losses to China (0-1) and Ecuador (2-5) and a livid Whitmore had promised to find players with the right mental attitude to perform under adverse condition.
"Based on our last performance in the Ecuador game, we definitely have to make amends for the upcoming Colombia game," noted Whitmore, who was losing two-in-a-row for the first time since taking over the head coaching role in 2008.
Stevens, a powerful forward who just signed with Arnett Gardens and young midfielder Grandison, trained with their new teammates and looked comfortable.
"It's a work in progress and we want to widen the pool and have a large contingent which we can select from going into the World Cup qualifiers," said Whitmore.
"We can't only look at players against Caribbean teams, now is the time to come and show what they have," he added.
With Colombia defeating Costa Rica 2-0 on Saturday night, the Reggae Boyz continued their preparation at the Holiday Inn field, in ideal conditions, returning to sea level.
"Today's (Yesterday's) training was very lively and I saw a different attitude from the players and I only hope they can bring this tothe game on Tuesday night," Whitmore ended.Y

National senior team Coach Theodore ‘Tappa’ Whitmore has made some changes to the squad called for the Ecuador/Jamaica friendly for Jamaica’s next international friendly against Colombia. Lovell Palmer now playing for Portland Timbers in the MLS, USA receives a call up as well as Jason Morrison of Aaelusund in Norway. Also joining the squad will be experienced defender Jermaine Taylor of Houston Dynamo (USA) and midfielder Omar Daley who recently signed for Motherwell FC in Scotland. Taylor, Morrison and Daley were all part of the 2011 Gold Cup squad.
Further in the continuing quest to expose and look at new players, Coach Whitmore has called Errol Stevens of Arnett Gardens FC and Ewan Grandison of Portmore United. This is the first call up to the senior team for both these players. Grandison was recently a part of the National Under 23 squad to Suriname. JeVaughn Watson has returned to Jamaica to finalise matters regarding his work permit. Troy Smith and Andrew Vanzie returned to the island on Saturday.
Head of Delegation Raymond Anderson; players Omar Daley; Errol Stevens; Ewan Grandison, Jermaine Taylor and Physical trainer Andre Waugh left the island on Sunday morning where they joined up with the other members of the delegation who are now in Fort Lauderdale. The Reggae Boyz will train at 5:30pm on Monday at the Holiday Inn field. The team plays Colombia on Tuesday September 6 at 7:30pm at the Lock Hart Stadium in Fort Lauderdale.

What a scam. This is "widening the pool". Oh well, if the Boyz bunker and Colombia conspires to relax and just play the game out, the score might look better than the one in Quito, and Tappa can talk more of his scat about "attitude."
I stopped by the training session briefly this afternoon. It was a typical looking Sunday scrimmage. Nothing too intense, but quick paced. Palmer, Phillips, Vernon, Richards and Johnson looked sharp. In all honesty, it would be hard to assess the team from this light session and it did nothing to help my confidence in the team. Actually one of the better looking players on the field was Tappa. As for fan support there were only about five of us looking on.
