I think its great they're recruiting but they're missing some very good prospects (at least they weren't mentioned there) like Junior Hoilett, Daniel Johnson, etc...but its a good first step anyway. I'm fairly certain Jobi McAnuff is a lost cause too. Also this Luke Hubbard is actually Luke Hubbins.
I hope they don't forsake king and the rest of originals like claude gardner pepe??,fuller campbell ryce, cause to tell u the truth King de pon form.... we just need a firm right back and two great playmaking central midfielders.

verton striker Jermaine Beckford is one of several international players being eyed by the Jamaica Football Federation (JFF) in its efforts to widen the pool of players for the national senior programme.
West Ham prodigy Zavon Hines and Birmingham City product Luke Hubbard are also among the players being scouted and approached by JFF officials as the federation stretches its tentacles beyond the island's shores in a continued effort to secure more talent ahead of the FIFA World Cup qualifying campaign later this year.
Beckford, 27, has scored seven goals in his first season with Everton after making a big switch last summer from Leeds United, for which he had scored a famous FA Cup Third Round goal that knocked Manchester United out of the competition in the 2009-2010 season.
According to sources close to the discussions, Beckford is said to be seriously considering the idea but will not be able to make a commitment to the Jamaican programme until later this year due to family reasons.
Hines, 22, another attacking player who was actually born in Jamaica but has represented England at the Under-21 level, is expected to decide on his future one way or the other in a matter of days, while Hubbard, a midfielder who actually plays in the Birmingham City reserve team, has already filed his citizenship application and should figure for the Reggae Boyz soon.
Nathan Smith, a 24-year-old left back with English League One team Yeovil Town, has also committed fully to the programme and has filed his citizenship application with local authorities.
The situation is slightly different with German-born Daniel Gordon, who represents Rot-Wei§ Oberhausen in Bundesliga 2. Twenty-six year-old Gordon, who has represented top-flight German clubs VfL Bochum II and Borussia Dortmund, is said to be extremely excited by the offer but is looking to sort out his club situation this summer before making a commitment as he is currently a free agent.
Another player who was reportedly contacted but cannot make a commitment at this point despite being interested is Reading FC's Jobi McNuff, who has a surgery scheduled for this summer.
JFF general secretary Horace Reid confirmed that discussions were under way with several players and underlined the importance of each player showing a level of commitment to the programme.
"A number of players have expressed an interest in representing Jamaica and we have also reached out to some. In most instances it's very preliminary and I'm not sure if I can confirm any names at this point but, yes, we are looking, we have been recruiting and the scouting process in ongoing," said Reid. "Except for Humphrey, nothing is concrete at this point."
"The players who do come here must show a level of commitment and professionalism; well, you expect a certain level of professionalism from the European players to begin with but more so, we will be looking for those who are truly committed to the country and that is why the recruiting process is so important," Reid added.
Noted UK-based player-agent Romel Wallen, who is close to a number of the players involved, gave an insight on the situation.
"Jermaine Beckford would like to be considered in the near future. Same for Jobi Mcnuff and Daniel Gordon. For various reasons, these players are unable to commit to playing this summer," said Wallen, who represents Pro-Goals Sports Management.
Daniel Gordon is a great central midfielder..holds the ball well and deliver slipping passes
its amazing that after 48 hrs after I talk to big mac about these names..they are suddenly in the star
In other words J'Yute if what yu say is true then the JFF made contact at the last minute for these players. Not enough time given apparently for BECKFRORD & McENUFF to have made a decision.
A few days before training camp and they are to decide whether or not to play for the R'BOYZ? ....unbelievable..
RIC, could you help with this, when were these players contaced?
Certain ites running their mouths bout JA not interested in players... there is a lot going on in the background - thats all i am saying.
When were the contacts made? The Boyz have been knocked out of World Cup (2010) contention since November of 2008. It is now 2011 just in case you forgot.....So we had almost three years and people are just applying for passports?......JUST being contacted?........This is an on going process!!

Nothing new here...Players and their agents contact the JFF all the time regarding their availability.

It has been almost three years and I can guarantee you that most of these JFF folks would walk past 99% of these players in any airport because they have no idea what they look like.
Maybe because the world was supposed to end today? Is that why these people are just reacting?

Yeah, the contacting should have been done long time ago. This is a farce. I am for a strong team; however the method is crazy and disingenuous. What about the guys who have been regulars up until now and thought they were been given a fair shot. We don't want another episode and questions of whom and who is using Jamaica and questions regarding their desire to represent us. We can recruit but not in this fashion. It sends the wrong message and is prolonging the bad vibes permeating the footballing infrastructure. We need good administration so the supporters can come together from their decisions.
I suspected that all the big talk about going with the players who they went with for the pass three years was a scam and I hope the players knew it too and won't take it too hard by been left out and their patrons won't be turned off by it.
We are on the wrong path. Players and supporters can handle the truth. The cleverness doesn’t work for a long period of time. Three year ago the statement could have been that there was going to be a broad look at the entire Jamaican Diaspora for inclusion in ReggaeBoyz squads and some players will get a more extended look that others because of their different circumstances. The new players should have been integrated during this time with one or two selections. It is easy to choose Jamaica during qualifying. The new prospects should at lease be given the opportunity to prove their commitment to the program during the interim. I don't think Jamaican football will get strong or be well supported by constantly having a set of players willing to answer the call at tournament time and we supporters, been unsure if they are committed or can mesh with the team.
I hope the media hype is untrue and the program can understand that filling the gaps as needed is a better solution. We really need some good football mind as a part of our program. They Administering has gotten a little better but the football tactics is still bad.

Great Post F'lynx; What about the guys who have been regulars up until now. I agree that to exclude regulars at this point if somehow the invitees outshine them is lame administrating.
Not saying the invitees shouldn't be here but it does complicates things & undermines the spirit of the team.
Such good players in the EPL & contact just being made

Fire, all what you are saying just points out the ineptitude of the JFF. However, just because you have used certain players over a period of time doesn't mean those players should be guaranteed a spot on the team. There will always be new players coming into the fold and players leaving the fold for a variety of reasons. It is pretty difficult to gauge who are using JA to further their own ambition, but I will venture to guess that there are as many local based players as foreign based players that play for JA to pursue their own ambition. Still we need to be cognizant that the JFF is also using players to further their own ambition. It's a 2 way street.
I am currently watching B'Burn vs Wolves and I must say that Junior Hoilett is very good player (off and on the ball) we should do our best to fend off Canada. As I am typing he scored a fantastic goal...Let's get him JFF

Are we seeing a decision change towards foreign players by the new TD Gama?
There is no change due to farrin TD... We should thank guys like Goodison and Fuller etc - they have been loyal amabassador in their recruiting efforts to get some of these guys to even consider Jamaica.
I can also add that one of the names being dropped here has no interest in playing for Jamaica (or his birth country for that matter) - thats the word I am hearing.
