I think he looks like the perfect mix of Bibi and Tappa. He is left footed and can run with the ball at pace like Bibi in his prime but he also looks like he has the vision, the ability to produce match winning magic, the goal scoring ability and the ability to unlock defences like Tappa. I agree with Lincoln that if we cant get Sterling and Johnson who were actually born in Jamaica then we have real problems because they should be the easiest targets even though they are bright stars of the future. I'm sure we can recruit both of them if we come with the right approach but we just need to do it quick

Secondly, for those who are comparing locals and English based youngsters, all they have to do is revisit the Jamaica Vs France U-17 World Cup game.........Raw talent is one thing.......instilling a professsional approach is another animal.
Third, why do we always wait until World Cup qualifying to reach out to players?......what about Continuity.......TAKE A PAGE FROM THE USA.......THE USA MACHINE NEVER STOPS!!!
How could the JFF & Tappa not invited this yute to any of the national teams? T won't get on them because the yute may have stalled to concentrate on improving and making VILLA's first team, or at least the bench.
He has more stability now and probably accept a call up...
we need JYUTE to help us with this one, regarding what the JFF is doing about Daniel Johnson in particular. He has the tools right now it appear to stand up in, or at least get a look at in the senior team.

HI,
We should be in constant communicate with Daniel Johnson but remember Aston Villa does NOT need to release him for FIFA youth tournaments, they are only obligated to release him on FIFA match dates,

Sterling and Johnson should be part of the senior team setup. The might not be ready today, but we should start grooming them for tomorrow. Call them up when we have certain type of games and work them in. They should have been getting calls over the last 2 years when we "looking" at talent. At least they should be told they will be part of the set up and will be called up for a few friendlies.

Unfortunately, we did not get them into either the 2011 U20 or U22 squad to give them a run.
Liverpool and Aston Villa will not be so helpful as they would rather see them as England internationals. But we need to keep in constant communications directly with Sterling and Daniel Johnson so we can get them involved.
These are Jamaica-born ballas that we should chase after aggressively. Daniel Johnson is one of the top 20 year old Jamaican-born players in the world right now.

Mr Daniel Johnson is the next young Jamaican we need to get involved. He is Jamaican-born and at 19 years old get regular action for the Aston Villa reserves, groom him from now!!!!
New Villa deal for Johnson Midfielder signs contract to keep him at club until June 2013
Aston Villa youngster Daniel Johnson has signed a new contract to keep him at the club until June 2013.
The 19-year-old midfielder is regarded as an exciting prospect for the future after making a great deal of progress over the past couple of years.
Having joined Villa's academy from Crystal Palace, he shone for the youth team in 2010-11 and has continued to make strides this season.
Johnson has impressed for the reserves and also scored three times in Villa's NextGen Series European campaign.
He has been called into the first-team set-up for a number of games and will now have the chance to further catch the eye of manager Alex McLeish over the next 15 months.
Johnson was the only Villa player who was impressive at all today as they lost 3-1 and were overrun by Manchester United. United were playing a very strong team with Phil Jones, Smalling, Cleverley, Fabio, and Pogba all starting. Johnson played in the center of midfield and looked very composed on the ball. Definitely a sort of box-to-box (left-footed) midfielder. Played some neat passes and also took many of Villa's set pieces. His goal was a great curling shot from about 20 yards out and the right side of the box. Had a good chance later on after a good one-two with Samir Carruthers but the ball took a bobble and flew way over the goal. I believe he is Villa Reserves top scorers with 7 this season.

Match report: Man Utd Res 3-1 Villa Res Second string defeated by experienced Red Devils. 22nd Mar 2012 Match report: Man Utd Res 3-1 Villa Res
By Dan Harrison
Villa's five-match winning run came to an end as the club's youngsters were given a tough lesson by an experienced Manchester United outfit.
Early strikes from Will Keane and Jessie Lingard put United in control, although Villa hit back after the break through Daniel Johnson.
But the northern section leaders sealed the victory in this top-versus-top encounter when senior Red Devils stars Tom Cleverley and Chris Smalling combined for United's third.
With the big first team clash at Arsenal just 48 hours away, the likes of Andreas Weimann, Barry Bannan, Gary Gardner and Eric Lichaj were excused from second string duty as Villa fielded a youthful side at Altrincham's Moss Lane.
By contrast, United sent out the big guns with England internationals Smalling, Cleverley and Phil Jones all named in the starting XI.
An intriguing test was in store for Villa's attackers against a back four boasting 10 full international caps between them.
Unfortunately for Kevin MacDonald's men, it didn't take long for United's quality to shine through.
Just nine minutes in, Fabio found space on the left flank and cut inside before picking out Keane with a perfect cross.
The Red Devils forward glanced a header towards the far corner, giving Benjamin Siegrist no chance.
Within 60 seconds the home team doubled their advantage.
This time Belgium international Ritchie De Laet ventured forward from right-back and crossed for Lingard to expertly power home a volley.
Villa enjoyed plenty of possession but their only clear-cut opportunity of the first period was a rasping 20-yard drive from Johnson which went just over.
United, though, weren't done with their attacks.
Fabio's delightful curling effort struck the upright, Pogba miscued with a back-post volley and then the Frenchman had a low shot saved by Siegrist.
Villa staged a storming fightback at the start of the second-half.
Almost immediately after the restart Samir Carruthers fed Graham Burke but the Irish striker shot over the bar.
Two minutes later the scores were level courtesy of a wonder strike from Johnson.
The skipper collected Burke's pass on the corner of the penalty area before unleashing an unstoppable curling effort into the top corner.
From there on, Villa had Siegrist to thank for keeping them in the game.
The Swiss custodian stood tall to thwart Keane in a one-on-one situation and moments later he dived to his left to push away Davide Petrucci's long-range drive.
But United's pressure eventually told and on 59 minutes Smalling was well placed at the near post to head home Cleverley's corner.
Substitute Michael Keane almost made it 4-1 but Courtney Cameron cleared his effort off the line.
Villa did manage a late rally. Some trickery from Carruthers created an opening for Johnson who ballooned his shot over from six-yards, while Darious Darkin had a late effort deflected just over.
MAN UTD: Johnstone, De Laet, Fabio da Silva, James, Smalling, Jones, Cleverley, Pogba, W Keane, Petrucci, Lingard. Subs: M Keane [for James, 72], Coll, Fryers, Tunnicliffe [for Pogba, 61], Vemijl [for Lingard, 77].
Jamaican youth, big up yourself for discovering Johnson but has he been contacted ? and what was his response if he was ? Please update us bredrin because when we dont hear anyting we start thinking the JFF is f**k**G around.
the dread kinda look like a spectator ina dem too video deh. jus a walk roun bakka the play him nuh tackle him nuh move wid purpose, him look sawf. any better videos???
Rokkstar you gimme joke with your review of his performance in them 2 videos but its true. Its difficult to find good footage of him because not many youth team games are televised or recorded but in this clip you will see a bit of what he can do right at the start. He has talent.
