AC Milan have signed Brazil forward Robinho on a permanent basis from Manchester City.

The Brazil international was initially thought to have been heading to the San Siro on loan, but he has now agreed a four-year contract with the Serie A giants.

Robinho will now link up with fellow new signing Zlatan Ibrahimovic and international team-mates Ronaldinho and Alexandre Pato in a star-studded strike force.

The 26-year-old moved to Eastlands exactly two years ago on transfer deadline day in an astonishing £32.5million deal from Real Madrid.

But despite the move being seen as a statement of intent from City on the same day they were taken over by the mega-rich Sheikh Mansour, he failed to settle.

A decent first season was followed by criticisms over his commitment and Robinho was sent out to Santos in January for the remainder of the season.
Excellent club

With competition from the likes of Carlos Tevez, Emmanuel Adebayor, David Silva, Adam Johnson, James Milner and Mario Balotelli, Robinho was not a guaranteed starter and has now moved on for an undisclosed fee, believed to be in the region of £22million.

A statement from AC Milan read: "AC Milan announces it has acquired player Robinho on a permanent deal from Manchester City.

"The Brazilian player has signed a four-year contract with the Rossoneri club."

Earlier in the day, Robinho expressed his satisfaction about joining the Italian giants.

"I am very happy," he said. "Milan is an excellent club."

He will most likely be coming off the bench unless he can play seedorf's role. but this is a good move. Milan did suffer last season when Pato went out Injured. Borriello cant finish and Ronaldino was wasting all his assist. With Ibra and Robinho i expect dinho to have atleast 20 assist this season.
According to the stats in his last game on sunday he provided 7 assist opportunities but only one was scored. that was by Pato . I watched the game too, seedorf missed a few and Inzagi missed one.

Milan seems to be in shape to challenge in Europe this season .

They did get some Reinforcements this summer on the defensive side of the game. they are not as old as some may think. The Got Prince Boateng, and a few young defenders in this off season . Bonera, Nesta and Ambrosini are the oldest starters and Bonera has not cemented his spot as yet Abate looked good last season so he can always step in at right back for the slower Bonera. Ambrosini has Flamini and Gattuso as Back ups. a good rotation system will keep the older players fresh . That was their downfall last season they did not have enough depth . Abromsini would look good 3 games then horrible for the next three, he was too old to keep his form consistent .

basically this is what happened in MILAN THIS SUMMER.
Got this from another board, seems like they are business geniuses. while other clubs are loosing money left and right Milan managed to make their team better and still make a profit in the process

Galliani you bloody genius!!!!

Here's a summary:

Amelia (GK) - Free Loan option to buy
Yepes (DF) - FREE
Sokratis - Exchanged a bunch of youngsters + 5 mill (which is payed for by the sale of Storari to Juve)
Boateng - Free Loan with buyout
Ibrahimovic - Free Loan option to buy (24mill)
Robinho - Purchased for undisclosed fee although rumor is around 15 - 20 mill

Players sold Hunter Kaladze Borriello recouped around 30mill,i don't believe Genoa payed anything for Kaladze.

So milan bought half a team this transfer season and MADE A 10-15mill PROFIT
