The players called upon are striker Alvaro Saborio (Real Salt Lake), and defenders Gonzalo Segares (Chicago), Roy Miller (New York), Michael Umana and Dario Delgado (both of Chivas USA), and Rodney Wallace (D.C. United).

So Rodney Wallace finally made up his mind to play fi wi. That's why mi no like foreign coaches. Rodney deh deh and nobody peep pon him. Mercenary foreign coach come and he is pon the squad.

Him born a CRica. No hard feeling, but if he has to think about whether he wants to play fi wi then wi don't need him. CRica never made a fuss about him before despite him probably being better than other players we had at his position.

Pelepapa, I herd from my sources on the Ground in CR that Rodney Wallace was actually tracing his Jamaican roots and looking into obtaining a Jamaican passport and possible representing the Green Black and Gold. He's been hesitating to play for the Tico's, cause his heart is with the Boyz. unfortunately he couldn't crack our starting lineup so him decide to stick with CR. Lol...

JA 3 CR 1

\:D That's a good one Morefire. Sources on the ground. \:D \:D

Our C team still a go win. Carter, dont take my word that this is a C team, listen to you fellow Jacan fans. First Unnu seh Miller was too slow and now Wallace couldn't crack JA starting lineup. Neither one was anywhere near the team during qualifiers to WC 2010. So we all agree? Ah C team this.

I could understand playing our A team against Panama, butwho is the B team playing why we couldn't play them against JA. Why we affi send our C team?

Love ur spirit Pele, trinis (except TT) and some yard man could take a page from ur book & not take the rivalry personal.

Still poke fun without degrading the conversation with disparaging epithets.

On that note mek CR bring them C team cause its a FIFA match day and we need fi move up in the rankings.

I applaud La Volpe he's a genius, who's not thinking of Jamaica right now; he's thinking of the future....

My C team reference was just a friendly banter meant to rile up Carter and Metro.

Mi figure the knowledgeable ites would see that this is not a C team. It is more a blend of A & B team players. It is probably more of an A team than the Jamaican team.

Tappa will need to spend the entire week coordinating and organizing the keepers and backline. Costa Rica has a very strong attacking squad so we will need to be very organized in the back.

With the 6pm kick off, it should be very warm and perhaps even rain, so ball possession will be key.

Pelepapa- I am not sure players with names like Roy Miller and Rodney Wallace really want to play for CR. Hopefully it shows in their game when they take the field.

Black man don't have any problem repping CRica. That's never been my concern. My concern is whether the players getting contract a farin would start losing their zest to put all out on the field, whether they name Wallace, Miller, figueroa, mendez or whatever.

Cummings Called to Jamaica Team

Omar Cummings has been called in for two matches for Jamaica in September
German Sferra
August 27, 2010

COMMERCE CITY, Colo. — Omar Cummings has been called up by the Jamaican National Team for two international friendly matches next month, though he will only be available for one of the games.

The Reggae Boyz host Costa Rica on September 5 at the National Stadium in Jamaica and then face Peru at Lockhart Stadium in Fort Lauderdale, Florida on September 7. Cummings will miss the game in Jamaica but will join the team ahead of the Peru match.

“The (Jamaica) Federation understands that I can’t travel outside the country right now,” said Cummings. “But they would like for me to be at the second game in Florida.”

Cummings respectfully declined the invitation for the September 5 match, since he is in the final stages of receiving his United States permanent residency (green card) and can’t leave the U.S. during this process.

The 28-year missed Jamaica’s 3-1 win at Trinidad earlier this month for the same reason. The game versus Peru will be Cummings first appearance for Jamaica since a 2-1 loss at Argentina in February.

“I’m always excited to play for the national team,” said Cummings. “This will be my first game in a while so hopefully it will be a positive one.”

Cummings will not miss any games with the Rapids as a result of the call up. Colorado host Chivas USA on September 4 at Dick’s Sporting Goods Park and then travel to New York to face the Red Bulls on September 11.

He has 17 career caps and has scored three goals for the Jamaica National Team since his debut in 2008.

I have a few major concerns with the travel plans of some of our ballas.

It seems the JFF has reached an agreement with some of the MLS clubs in regards to releasing the players. Most of the MLS clubs have matches on September 4th and a few players will arrive in Jamaica the day of the match. This will test Tappa man management skills.

Reggae Boyz, Costa Rica tickets go on sale
Published: Tuesday | August 31, 2010

Richards

Tickets for Jamaica's Reggae Boyz much-anticipated international friendly against Costa Rica inside the National Stadium on Sunday went on sale yesterday at selected locations across the island.

In a release from the Jamaica Football Federation, patrons were reminded that tickets will not be available for purchase at the venue on match day and that all effort must be made to get tickets early.

Access to the grandstand area will cost $3,000 and $2,500, while bleachers tickets will be sold for $1,000.

In the meantime, several members of Jamaica's overseas-based contingent which will be on show during the clash, were in good form over the weekend for their respective clubs.

Dane Richards of the New York Red Bulls and the Colorado Rapids' Omar Cummings were in particularly good form after impressive showings from their respective Major League Soccer (MLS) outfits.

On the night when former Arsenal great Thierry Henry scored his first goal in MLS for the Red Bulls, it was Richards who was the star of the show, providing the assist for the Frenchman after scoring one of his own.

In what has been described as the best game of his career in New York, the speedy Richards bolted through the San Jose Earthquakes back line before rifling a shot into the net in the 46th minute of their clash. He returned to turn provider for Henry as the Red Bulls ran out 2-1 winners.

Cummings was also at his best after his strike helped the Rapids to a convincing 3-0 win over the Houston Dynamo for whom another Jamaican, Lovel Palmer, received a straight red card.

Both strikers will be looking to replicate their good form when the Reggae Boyz tackled the Costa Ricans in one of two friendly internationals lined up for the team in the coming days.

Preparations

After the Costa Rica clash, the team will fly to Fort Lauderdale, Florida, where they will come up against Peru two days later.

The team is expected to stage their first training session tomorrow afternoon at a venue to be confirmed.

Overseas-based players: Omar Daley (Bradford City), Donovan Ricketts (LA Galaxy), Shavar Thomas (Kansas City Wizards), Ryan Johnson (San Jose Earthquakes), Omar Cummings (Colorado Rapids), Dane Richards (New York Red Bulls), Demar Phillips (Aalesund FC), Jason Morrison (Stromgodset IL), Luton Shelton (Valarenga FC) and Nicolas Addlery (Puerto Rico Islanders).

Pelepapa,

How much unno a pay your TD in $US?

El jerarca añadió que la Federación no está en condiciones de pagar un técnico como La Volpe, que, según él, le costaría a la Fedefutbol alrededor de $3,5 millones por los cuatro años.
