Do you think Roy Meyers(Saprissa) has a chance of become the next TD for Costa Rica?
I would hope so. 3 black men in a row would surely give me ammunition when someone push up their ignorant mouth about how much more racist CRica is than anywhere else. Let mi not start. Anyway, I don't think he will get the post. He has being working with Saprissa's youths since he retired and he just recently got the senior team.
Unfortunately foreignitis is creeping into the CRican psyche and I think the FA is feeling pressured to get a named coach from the America's for this campaign. Lavolpe seems to be the frontrunner the last time I checked. I don't see them throwing a name like LaVolpe around and ending up with an inexperience Roy Meyers.

Jamaica vs Costa Rica is a heated match up to take place on September 5 at the Office. This match between both teams will be the 20th time that both teams are facing each other. In their head to head history, Jamaica has beaten Costa Rica on 3 occasions, lost 10 times and drawn 6 times.Jamaica has not beaten Costa Rica since September 14, 1997, when Deon Burton scored the lone goal.
Since then the teams have met 5 times. Costa Rica thumped Jamaica 9-0 in 1999 and in the 2002 World Cup qualifiers Jamaica lost 2-1 in Costa Rica and 1-0 in Jamaica. Seven years later Rene Simoes came back to coach the Reggae Boyz and his first match in his second stint was against Costa Rica. This game drew 1-1. The last time the teams met was in the CONCACAF Gold Cup in 2009 in which Costa Rica won 1-0
So now it is closing into 13 years that Jamaica has not beaten Costa Rica. In 2010, Costa Rica has played 5 friendly internationals and have lost 4 and won 1. Costa Rica lost 3-2 to Argentina, 2-1 to France, 3-0 to Slovakia, 2-0 to Paraguay, but they got a win vs Switzerland. In 2010 Jamaica has played 4 friendly internationals, winning 2 (Canada and Trinidad and Tobago) and losing 2, one of the losses involved a hardworking performance vs two time world cup champions Argentina. The other involved a last minute friendly with S.Africa in Germany. Jamaica's last game at ''The Office'' was on January 31 vs Canada where Jamaica clipped the Maple Leaves 1-0. The Reggae Boyz' last friendly match was on August 11 vs Trinidad and Tobago where the Boyz beat the Soca Warriors 3-1. Importantly, Dane Richards and Kavin Bryan got their first goals for Jamaica in that game. Los Ticos may have the edge, but Jamaica is ready to prove that they are the better of the two opponents as World Cup qualifiers are right around the corner. With the likes of Luton Shelton, Lovel Palmer, Donovan Ricketts and Omar Daley, Los Ticos will have no walkover as their 13 year unbeaten streak against the Reggae Boyz is on a knife's edge and the Boyz are ready for Action.

The only game in 2010 that counts to CRica is the Paraguay loss. The other games were pre-wc against wc bound teams for which we served as fodder. France mussi mad since we took their money and didn't prepare them well.
Shavar Thomas will depart after Kansas City's match Saturday, September 4 at the Philadelphia Union. Jamaica hosts Costa Rica September 5 in Kingston, before facing Peru Tuesday, September 7 in Ft. Lauderdale, Fla.
"Every time you play for your national team, it feels like the first time," Thomas said. "It's a tremendous honor, and I'm especially excited to play in front of the home fans in Jamaica."
Not sure how that will help them since not all the team plays in Norway and MLS.
You can do better than that Carter. Not that we would ever need it against JA but any knowledge you can get on your opponent, even if it is on one player, is helpful.
Even though I know you meant to say "why would they need help against wi." Lol.
