Folks the next big event regionally is the CAC Games in Puerto Rico July 17-August 1 2010 reminder: Colombia & Venezuelia are active participants in these games .

The 2010 CAC Games are scheduled for July 17-August 1 in Mayaguez, Puerto Rico. Central America will get four teams in each of the men's and women's soccer competition. Host Puerto Rico and three teams from the Caribbean will comprise the rest of the men's field.
The men's event is an under-21 age restricted tournament, in keeping with the Olympic nature of the competition,

If the teams training and travel fees are paid by the SDF or the Olympic fund, Jamaica should send a team as this is a qualifier for the Pan Am Games 2011 in Mexico.
Otherwise save the money for the u20 and u17 squad.

Seven schoolboys in CAC squad Seven members of the 2009 Manning and Dacosta Cup teams are part of a squad named by National Coach Theodore Whitmore to the first in a series of camps to prepare a national squad for participation in the XXI CAC Games to be held in Mayaguez, Puerto Rico, July 17-August 1.
They are Marvin Morgan (St Georges College/Boys Town): Oneil Fisher (2009 Manning Cup Champions Team Captain/St. Georges College): Christopher Waugh (Wolmer’s Boys): Ashani Walker (Jamaica College): Jason Johnson (Manchester High): Darren Mattocks (Bridgeport High) and leading goal scorer of the 2009 Dacosta Cup, Deshorn Brown (St. Elizabeth Technical High).
The squad further includes nine players from the Under 20 squad for the FIFA U-20 World Cup at the CONCACAF Championships in Trinidad and Tobago in March 2009. These are Gariece McPherson (Portmore United): Andre Blake (Glenmuir High/Sporting Central Academy): Andrae Campbell (Portmore United): Andre Darby (Portmore United) Romeo Parkes (St. Georges Sports Club): Andre Steele (Harbour View FC): Romario Campbell (Harbour View): Damaine Thompson (Bamboo FC) and Davion Thorpe (Reno FC).
Two members of the squad have played for Jamaica’s National Senior team, Romario Campbell who played against South Africa on April 28 and Jason Johnson who played against Argentina, February 10, 2010. Andrae Campbell and Damaine Thompson were part of the team that won a Silver medal at the Pan Am games in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil in 2007.
The last time Jamaica participated in the CAC games was in 2006 when the country was knocked out at the quarter final stage after beating Haiti in the group stage.
The technical staff sees this squad as the embryo for not only the CAC games but also for the 2012 Olympic qualifiers. National Coach Theodore Whitmore says “ Jamaica stands a good chance of doing well so its important to get our preparation started early” The squad begins training on Tuesday, May 18 and will break on Thursday, May 20.

Have been hearing good things about Dino Williams (Village United) - For the record, I have never seen him play. I was told he was one of the main reasons why the more experienced (former national striker) Teofore Bennett was benched. BTW - Dino is only 19.
NEW YORK - Mexico, Panama, Jamaica and St. Vincent will face off in one group of the men's soccer tournament at the Central American and Caribbean Games while Costa Rica will play Belize, Trinidad and host Puerto Rico in the other.
A draw Friday at the New York headquarters of CONCACAF also set the field for the quadrennial event's inaugural women's competition, pitting Costa Rica, Haiti, Nicaragua and Puerto Rico in Group A, with Mexico, Trinidad, Guatemala and Guyana in Group B.
El Salvador, which had qualified for both of the men's and women's tournaments, was disqualified and not included in the draw due to itsw suspension by FIFA over governmental interference in the affairs of the country's soccer federation.
The match calendar will be announced jointly by the Central American and Caribbean Sports Organization (CASCO) [Organizacion Deportivo Centroamericana y el Caribe - (ODECABE)] and the local organizers at a later date for the July 17-August 1 games.
This will be the third time Puerto Rico has staged the CAC Games, the last time in 1993. The men's tournament will be staged as an under-21 event, in keeping with the Olympic nature of the games, while the women's tournament will be open to full national teams.
