Guidance, I would have no problems with the three countries co-hosting but I just don't think it would be approved in FIFA voting. I personally believe the Copa Caribe finals should be rotated around similar to the Copa America, every country gets a chance. But in terms of local football and world cup qualification, Jamaica needs its own facilities.

And if you find National teams playing together is too cost prohibitive, just how do you propose little clubs in the West Indies to finance this venture?

That sounds more reasonable, But the Yankee and canadian $$$$ maybe hard to come by...with sponsors wanting to advertise more in those countries.
I believe a full pro league in Canada would help immensely!
Looking forward to hearing more ideas on these topics.

Truetrini, I never mentioned anything about the cost of national teams playing together.
I just suggested a Caribbean-wide professional league(Senior and U20). The clubs can include players from any Caribbean country with each club having a stadium and academy, then the national team players can have good training facilities when they return home. Your same regional airline sponsorship suggestion would provide transportation.

See that is already happening in T&T, I agree that such a league woud be great, BUT will it be financially viable? No crowds, no $$$! Simple fact.
I still think a REAL Carribean Football Academy is the answer.
Will the powers that be choose the right path? Or wil they seek personal gain ove rthe development of youth?
I bet anyone with half a brain will say the latter.
Peace.
btw, I truly believe a new Park in Twickenham will be an excellent idea. Regional U-14, U17, and U-20 can be held there and in other Caribbean countries. all to the Glory of regionalism!

When Zawatski, the coach that led Holland to WC 78, came to T&T as TD. He said the country needed a program that showed uniformity and continuity from youth to senior. That was back in 1981. Simoes says the same thing, Now I am echoing the same thing. When will all this talk stop and action begin?
If thats whats needed in T&T, is it not also appropriate for Jamaica?
lets start a West Indian Football Academy now!

A professional league, academy and stadiums in Trinidad is your suggestion for regional player development.
How many national team players from other Caribbean countries play in Trinidad?

You are just anti-trini!!!! Stop your ta-ta and be honest! where did I state that the Football Academy should be built in Trinidad?
QUOTE: "btw, I truly believe a new Park in Twickenham will be an excellent idea. Regional U-14, U17, and U-20 can be held there and in other Caribbean countries. all to the Glory of regionalism!"
For your information, Trinidad and Tobago already has a fairly successful Professional Football League, four brand new stadia, a National stadium, several playing pitches, a cricket pitch that we often use, and somewhat of a football academy under Professor Simoes already in place!
You sound like you have been indoctrinated by the British, or the Southern Americans!!!! do you live in England or Deep South USA? You sound like one of THEM!!!!
Build the Regional football academy in Jamaica, Grenada, Barbados or Guyana for all I care, just make sure it includes a coaching academy, a school for referees, and a program for youths at all levels of skill and development!
THATS MY DESIRE, THAT WAS MY OPINION. Hell even Ray Charles could have seen that...you are looking to spread your silliness....guess what...you cannot run me, nor can you muzzle me...Jakan board or NOT! I am here and for the greatest part..welcome by most of the ites....well there are always FOOLS!
Notice well that your fellow Jakans don't lend you support in this arguement!

Gillette Group sponsors soccer clinic ...taking place this Saturday at Savannah
By GREGORY TRUJILLO
AS part of the Gillette Group of Companies' ongoing support for the development of youth and sport in Trinidad and Tobago, the Group will be sponsoring the youth soccer clinic conducted by Technical Director Professor Rene Simoes on Sunday on the Queen's Park Savannah (opposite the Princes Building grounds).
It was disclosed yesterday at a press conference at Cascadia Hotel, St Ann's, that there was an overwhelming response to the clinic and, within the space of two to three days, the 300 places for children between the ages of 10 to 17 available, were booked.
Assisting Simoes during the clinic will be members of Team 2001, which will be representing the country in the FIFA World Under-17 Championship scheduled to take place in T&T from September 13-30.
The world's largest football T-shirt will be present in the Savannah on the day, allowing visitors the opportunity to sign, in a show of their support for Team 2001.
Apart from sponsoring the clinic, the Gillette Group of Companies also will be donating 10 computers for the T&T Football Federation's Youth Development programme.
Simoes also disclosed yesterday the clinic will be the first of many that will be introduced throughout the twin-island state.
He also mentioned it is the first step towards the hosting of an Under-13 League and he presently is in the final stages of completing paperwork for the project "Road to Germany 2006 and Beyond".
Starting time for Sunday's clinic is 9 am, but participants must be present one hour before.

if we can put up an academy, and we can, let's have the ground breaking ceremony today. but if a regional academy comes before that I say right on massive. Caus with a good program in place our youths may be more developed and better suited to step right into most countries premier leagues than fishing in England's 3rd division a beg a little trial
thank God Warner threw us a bone and an hungry Burrel was there to grab it Guidance i man take excetion to your above statement. What bone are you Talking about.Jack Warner jumped on the plane right after the world cup and came to ja.To get a look at the ja football program and take back some ideas to T&T. Mr.Burell has been invited by the various Carribbean football fed to be guest speaker and impart his knowledge of the game to them. Why is our Caribbean neighbours all going Brazilian???? Guidance: Fireman, I wonder if that's a double bogey yuh making on the 18th hole. Maybe you come into the movie after security take a break and the last scene a wind down.
Anyway if I and I wrong, I jus wrong and tank you for the guidance. But the way I understand it Burrell met with Warner, seeing Warner is a FIFA VP and Burrell show him seh "I have a dream". Warner layout a 4 year program of what to do to make it to France 98............and the rest is history ask the historians
if a nuh near so it go, mi wrong, if a near so......
Moretime still, lessfire

Guidance!! I've never herd of jumping jack laying out a four yr plan for Mr Burell, I could be wrong..I know for a sure that Mr Warner came to JAM after the copa mundial '98 to study jamaica's football program. As far as i can see the rest of English speaking Caribbean has gone Brazilian now ,including the man you claimed threw us a bone, Mr Warner himself. We nuh need no bone from nobody!! The rest of Caribbean is playing catch up to us."we been there done that". me vex bredren, de man dis the program big time when you say: "Warner threw us a bone".Remember at one time during the '98 campaign T&T still had Bertil Sinclair a local coach in charge. The JFF said to warner if you really want to make the WC you need a foriegn coach. The T&T press and T&TFF jumped all the over JFF and basically said we dont need your advice we will stick with our local guy Sinclair.Who is the TD for T&T now??? stand firm zeeeee...
