The team was a bit underprepared in comparisson to the last one under Simoes and they came up just short.

Word is this is a good bunch and I hope they can improve for the U-20

See, the JFF and TTFF nees to get their acts together and train the youngsters better....FUTURE!

Wy can't the two countries have a joint training program?

Then as tourneys come up..separate and prepare.

Not a bad idea Maas TT, in fact jus recently I saw our young cricketers goin thru their paces at the new Shell Academy, all di region's boyz rubbing shoulders

In fact Shatta(and he is on this topic too) touch on checking with the the other regional countries in CONCACAF to see their pro/semi-pro programs prior to goin full speed with ours

Recently Yard's foreign affairs minister, Robertson was telling about yard fishermen teaching Honduran fishermen tricks of their trade. No such cooperative effort in football only cricket, lovely, boring sometimes, cricket

Regional ball academy time as come since people seh JFF don't have the money
Over to you Sir Warner, CONCACAF and deep pocket countries like T & T

If not will Shell, C & W or D & G step up
or 'therb.com?'

I thought the center of excellence in Trinidad was for the entire caribbean. Maybe we can use it too or set up our own. a long time poster at another site proposed T&T and Football developing and utilising a GC Foster type academy.

There is no way around an academy these days. It the modern day football arms race and we will fall behind more and more if we don't build ours.

We should try and set up a program with Trinidad where teams that comes to play us also play them and visa versa.

A joint training academy? Truetrini I have nothing against TnT, but I think you should create your own TnT forum on another website. The fact is our U17's were placed in a very difficult qualifying group(playing US in the US for qualification). The US might be one of the top three U17 teams in the world. Remember TnT and Jamaica are over 1000 miles apart, travel would be a major problem. Putting an academy, fields and coaches in Trinidad does nothing Jamaica Football development.

But jamatl as a starter until other counties develop their own??

it doesn't have to be in T & T
establish it with a sponsor like Shell so neither JAM, T & T or Barbados can say a fi wi dis.....we can take a page outa di boring cricketers book

the Shell Academy teaching 4 fundamentals
-strength/conditioning
-techniques
-mental game
-one other(eludes me yah now)
even public speaking, computer classes, etc.

each carib country can send a select group of youth each semester, fi di ball program
As the region develops the competition intensifies, brings out the BEST, the young ones excel, ball world start RESPECT carib ballas - have no fear - inna a short time Carib have 3 teams in FIFA top 25

Jamatl. Why do you disrespect out Trini brother. His Idea is not so bad. Or, are you scared of losing boasting rights.

Guidance, Jagga and Trini,

Firstly, I would like to see Jamaica and TnT continue to play international friendlies at all levels to aid both countries for international competition. But, do the hotels and beaches in Jamaica help TnT tourism? No.
Does the abundance of oil in Trinidad help Jamaica? No. In cricket the region competes as West Indies, not so in football, we compete against each other.

Trini, I have no problems with you on the forum, but remember the name of the site is TheReggaeBoyz.com. I am just suggesting maybe also creating a Trinidad Football forum under a fitting name.

but Jamatl di cricketers train together but they still oppose each other in Busta Cup and pro league in Britian
yeah each country resource is seperate and apart and the benefits are not shared

but if Warner had shown Burrell the door instead of laying out a program fi yardball things coould have been different.....
Di each country fi themself approach putting our programs on slow trains to france, japan and germany.....'a little cooperation woulda relieve di frustration'

if we can put up an academy, and we can, let's have the ground breaking ceremony today. but if a regional academy comes before that I say right on massive. Caus with a good program in place our youths may be more developed and better suited to step right into most countries premier leagues than fishing in England's 3rd division a beg a little trial

thank God Warner threw us a bone and an hungry Burrel was there to grab it

throw us a CONCACAF regional academy a Twickenham Park nuh Warner

Jamatl, I do belong to a trini website, I am a heavy poster there!

secondly, what did I post or have posted in the past that is all T&T and anti Jamaica?

NOTHING!!!!! N-O-T-H-I-N-G!

You rmind me sooo much of Bustamante! And off course Eric Williams.

When Bustamante pulled out of the Confederation, instead of going thru with the plan minus Jamaica..Eric Williams said: "10-1=0
Typical of our peoples! No vision and always seeking to be better than the other.

Drats, it seems the British "divide and conquer plan was successful after all!

I guarantee that if Jamaica, if any Jamaican team had to Travel 1600 miles to Brazil to train, that would not be too far a journey.

There are regional air carriers! why can't a deal through sponsorship, be worked out to transport the respective teams back and forth for training purposes?

El Salvador, even as much as they dislike Guatamala....train together...for a PURPOSE!

What is the purpose of Trinidad football....what is the purpose of Jamaican football?

Is it to develop bragging rights: "WE are Caribbean kings?" A boast T&T SEEMS TO HOLD DEAR THROUGH COPA CARIBE? or to make it to the BIG dance consistiently?

The United States are by no means the among the best in the world in U-17 football, that boast was reserved for their U-20 team, with all the professionals and you see the blows they got in Argentina.

Jamaican football has come so far, that is the thinking on this board and elsewhere in the world....I disagree with that premise.

It is young developing and going thru teething pains. I say one swallow does not a summer make! Make it to the big dance like USA has been doing in recent times, Like Mexico has done consistently...then we can talk HOW far the programme has come...till then work on a regional level MUST be done. Without QUALIty preparation, there will be NO progress....and competition is good for any business. Time for the Caribbean teams to come together in a spirit of cooperation and make the region stand out!

Time to put the pettiness aside and cooperate for the betterment of the regional youths!

Thats my opinion!

Jamaica recently went on a Caribbean tour which exposed our players to international competition. The new stadiums in TnT do nothing for local Jamaican football. The distance between TnT and Jamaica is too far to co-host the u17 competition. If you are talking about cooperation, let JA and TnT co-host the Copa Caribe and build a stadium.

Truetrini, when JA plays TnT which team do you want to win?

Jammie, how far is Seoul from Tokyo?
700 miles; Kingston to Pt-Spain, 1100 miles
no sweat, one group play in Bajan country, one in Kingston and T & T di rest.....
if distance is still a problem then co-host w/Barbajan - it's all about exposure fi youth
and sharing the costs and the rewards

I back Trinidad! So what? I desire Caribbean Unity! Ask Burrell why Jamaica does not host more Copa Cups?

Ask those kinds of questions.

Besides, the Copa has been played on a home and away basis many times!

You make very invalid points! The prelims could have been played in Barbados, St. Vincent, Suriname, Quarters and finals in Jamaica or T&T etc. get the picture.

I think the main issue here for you is T&T vs. Jamaica. Trini vs. Jakans...am i close to the truth?
