The girlz are finishing strong currently leading Panama 2-0 after 75 minutes.

Trudi Carter(captain) has talent to play at the top level of women's football.

The little girlz did pretty well in the first half of the Mexico game. The coach should be ashame of himself for mentioning the girlz as even partially to blame. They did not decide that they weren't going to train til 2 weeks before the tournament. They did not decide not to ensure that their visas were in order so that at least they could get to the tournament in the right frame of mind.

How come the coach doesn't mention the administration in this latest debacle?

Young Reggae Girlz end victorious

ALAJUELA, Costa Rica (CMC):

Jamaica registered their sole victory at the CONCACAF Under-17 Women's Championship on Monday, when they defeated Panama 2-0.

The young Reggae Girlz overcame the early loss of their starting keeper to score twice in the final game, and end their campaign on a positive note.

Both teams entered the encounter already eliminated from semi-final contention after suffering a pair of losses in their opening two games to Canada and Mexico.

Expelled

Jamaican custodian, Shantel Graham, was expelled for an intentional handball in the 14th minute, her second such indiscretion in as many games.

Coming off her line to prevent the advance of Panamanian forward Angela Evans, Graham blocked the shot with her left hand outside the 18-yard box.

With replacement, Tisha Henry-Campbell in goal, Jamaica proceeded to score in either half to come away with the victory.

They opened their scoring in the 28th minute through a fine solo effort from Shantel Bailey, who raced down the left wing, beat one defender before unleashing a tremendous curling shot past goalkeeper, Anyuri Montenegro.

Leading 1-0 at the half-time break, Jamaica ensured there would be no comeback from Panama with a handsome 74th minute 20-yard volley, courtesy of Trudi Carter.

Denied opportunities

Panama were left cursing their luck after having two scoring opportunities denied.

Angela Evans had a first-half effort disallowed for off-side before Jamaica had scored, and in the second half, Jamaica's Lotoya Duhaney appeared to trip Lisbany Alveo as the Panamanian closed in on goal in the 58th minute, but their penalty appeals were turned down.

In the other game, Mexico edged Canada 1-0 through a beautiful Diana Gonzalez free kick from 40 yards out, two minutes before half-time.

Tomorrow's semi-finals will see the United States confront Canada and Mexico tackle hosts Costa Rica.
