Carver jamaica is on the right track , it starts with our administration thats,Captain Burrell ,Horace Reid and all who is giving 101% at the JFF but most of all Tappa Whitmore & coaching staff including warren barrett. Until we level the playing field between foreigners and local coaches, jamaica will benefit . Look at Tappa Whitmore , he has 66% win record with the national team and got favorable results versus sven-goran erickson , Carlos Alberta parreira this tells a tale i.e jamaica football can currently do without foreigners, majority of us supports the coaching staff .What we need to do is go out and support the national team .
When a dozen years go by since France 1998 and we can't even make the final round of World Cup qualifying against teams, some of whom are weaker than us, that to me is not progress.
Carver el salvador have not reach the world cup finals twice longer than us, Canada have not Qualify since 1986 although they earn a playoff spot in 1994 .this is Honduras 2nd time since 1982 ,the reason why we never reach the hex in 2009 is because Kasey Keller was bias and we got a unlucky draw . For the next draw in 2011 I would like Concacaf to let the selection done by someone not from the Americas hence coming from Africa , Asia or even europe would do the entire Confederation good . Carver be patience man , as jamaicanyouth said we are going to get a Group we all like and thus we will move on to the hexagonal round within the next 2 1/2 - 3 yrs time . As for what you said about USA , we already beat them @ the U17 Level and I know we going to beat them @ the senior level one day . Carver dont have a change of heart or spirit about jamaica , if you want to voice your Opinion buy a 2 dollar phone card and call the JFF office in Kingston and tell them how you feel . gwone hold di faith .

I've given it a lot of thought and i'm still not fully certain that I know the purpose of this game.
Scrimmage anyone?
This is a sparring match to prepare Argentina for the WC. Nothing more, nothing less. Stay deh let Burrell full up unnu head ah nonsense. The way him ah go on mi sure seh Jamaica ah pay fi di privilege when they should be getting paid a sparring partner fee. We soon hear seh dem bruk from participating in these friendlies.
This is going to be another England situation 4 years later. Do unnu never learn? Unnu made so much out of an England sparring match to the point weh unnu actually ended up having to pay for the privilege. The English FA even a sue unnu to this day over money owed.
Don't believe mi seh England was a sparring match? Playing a team like T&T what was England's main concern? defending and taking Set-pieces. How many set-piece attempts were in the game? Mi surprise fi si fans of a sparring partner team a analyze players performance like seh a dem a prepare fi go WC.
Sparring ball is a very important aspect of international football, particularly in a WC year, but why elevate it beyong that? CRica ah shop around their sparring services right now to WC bound teams and they are getting paid handsomely for it.
Be real guys, these are not real games no matter how much Burrell ah try hype them up. Is Burrell really this stupid or does he think the fans are stupid? The team serving as a sparring partner would agree with the WC bound teams on what aspect of their game they need to work on and that is how the games will unfold.
The real preparation comes after WC when both teams are working on phases of their game.
Our mostly U-20 team gave Argentina a workout losing 3-2. I hope their sparring duty was acceptable to the Argentines. Now on to the next sparring duty.
Yes, we next fi sparring duty but I think that the Jamaica versus Argentina match will draw a bigger crowd than the Ticos, hence a bigger payday.
Jamatl,
I don't really know how you figure JA would draw more than the Ticos, but I can see where you would jump to that conclusion, the everybody love Jamaica vibe and thing. Lets say I agree with you on that. Who gets the bigger payday comes down to negotiation.
Besides the obvious disparity in drawing power, as you pointed out, I think JA is a more valuable sparring partner to Argentina's WC aspirations than CRica. In theory JA should get the bigger payday, but somehow those representing JA always find a way to negotiate those advantages away, maybe it is too much glee.
I hope Burrell's glee and msiclassification of Jamaica's role don't translate into JA getting lowballed. The opportunity is there for JA to make a lot of money during this WC season. They can fool countries into thinking that they are preparing them to face CONCACAF competitions even though they don't really play like any of the CONCACAF representatives with the exception of maybe Honduras, and they can be sparring partners for teams facing African nations. Much money out there to be made.
Burrell should be judged on how JA coffers look after this WC season, not on getting games, getting games should be a given.

it could have been 2-2 , the 1st goal the keeper made a mistake by punching out the ball ,he could have hold it with both hands .

i dont believe jamaica played argentina u17 @ a u20 Tournament , i think the argentines felt timid about us beating them . ok so a u20 tourney was going on in canada , thats just a story they tell the world .

Hopefully Daley, Vernon and Miller get a chance to make history again at the senior level versus Argentina.
I watch the costa rican team that lost 3-2 to Argentina , their keeper made huge mistakes . I think jamaica can bag this one .
Maybe the weight of wearing the captain's band for the first time was too much for him. He is suppose to be our starting goalie way into the forseeable future.

I think we will see even more DPL players get a chance against Argentina. Some of our players will need to start pre-season training with their clubs this week and the DPL players have a midweek match on Wednesday.

Dane Richards just completed a strong La Manga pre-season training with Red Bull New York. Perhaps Tappa can get him for this match since he had a successful experience in Argentina during pre-season a few seasons ago.

Our match against Argentina will be perhaps road match in Tappa brief coaching career. Let us hope another 6-0 thrashing does not spell dome for a promising local coach.
---------------- I believe Demar Phillips will be returning to his club and one of the MLS players.
One thing, we will not be defend and absorb Argentina attacking pressure for 60+ minutes so we will need to find some efficient goalscorers.
