It is very important for Jamaica to finish in the top 3 in this tournament for football and marketing reasons. Our KIT and TV contract expire at the end of the year.

We have two months to find at least two(2) left backs and two(2) right backs. The fact is Demar Phillips and Eric Vernon are midfielders. We just need to find a supply line for Richards, Cummings, Johnson, Shelton and Addlery and we crisss.
With continued positive support, Whitmore can help retain our title and also open the door for a few of the players to possibly get some time in England before the 2011 Gold Cup.
USA/MLS 1. Omar Cummings- F 2. Ryan Thompson - F 3. Shavar Thomas - DF 4. Donavon Ricketts - GK 5. Shaun Francis- DF 6. Lovell Palmer- MF 7. Dane Richards - MF/F 8. Khari Stephenson- MF 9. Obrien White - F
add: Anthony Wallace - DF (can't see him getting called up for US anytime soon) and still only 21 Andy Williams - I can see him maybe coming out of retirement for this, if tappa makes it clear he really wants him... still, probably not happening.
I would love to see Andy back even if it's just for 2014 qualifiers. At 32 yrs old it may be a stretch for him to maintain his fitness at this level beyond 2012/13.
Playing alongside or as a back up/second half sub for Jason would no doubt strengthen our middle. He has tons of experience and would be an invaluable addition to our squad, and provide credible leadership that Whitty bemoans.

Andy Williams can be a good addition for the tournament format competitions (Digicel Cup and Gold Cup) since the travel is easier for a veteran with significant family responsibilities.
He has been an outstanding leader and mentor with his club side Real Salt Lake over the past two seasons.
So one more friendly before the tourney? How is the Depth at LB and RB looking?Still no creativity in midfield.Looks like we gonna be playing a 4-3-3 with 3 hard tackling midfielers then.

the haitian FA have recruited a new Foreign Coach , he was born in Brazil coached in switzerland and speaks french . This will make things a bit easier for TnT as the two teams clash in the 2nd Round of Digicel Cup ... http://www.concacaf.com/page/NewsDetail/0,,12813~2157533,00.html

How do you know this will make things a bit easier for tnt? maybe the coaching change will help haiti...
well we could use either Anthony Wallace of FC Dallas, Lyle Adams currently without a club or Jermaine Jarret currently playing D1 soccer at Bucknell at left back
as for creativity in the midfield these three are our best shot Omar Persad, Akeem Priestley, Yannick Salmon... Omar is playing in Spain I think and I am not sure about Priestley... Yannick will likely come close to double digits in scoring this year
----Persad---- Priestley-Salmon
plus with 2 call ups we have enough players to field a relatively young and strong back line

Chito no cause for concern; i'm not sure what you are looking at but we have had good results in the run of games recently.
We have only given up the most 2 goals and that was against Argentina. Peru only scored 1 against us as well as Coata Rica only scored 1.
For mainly a local base outfit that is a very good result.
Now if you are looking at an attacking option from our backs, well that is another story. With Bibi and Phillips on the left side of midfield/defence then thats quality there; no concern.
On the right Vernon is holding is own for now, but our wingers Dane Richards and Cummings pack enough punch that we really don't need(except for tactical depth) for our right back to be graced with overlapping skills.
We want Vernon to be a solid defender first.
We do have some creativity on the ball; what you need to see Chito is that we have a balance team going forward. midfielders and forwards work very well together.
So well that in the Peru game as soon as Whitty remove certain players You could see the decline in ball possession and confidence.
I remember in times past when it was Whitemore doing most of the ball work in midfield, but this time around their is great interaction between the forwards and midfield. They had Peru giddy with their ball movement.
I highly rate Jason Morrison for being the main cog in this wheel and Edwards is growing in leaps and bounds at the same time.
This Yute Johnson who plays like an off forward is also very adept with his left foot, his movement and sly touches are a great asset to Jason and Phillips on the left side.
Luton Shelton still needs to sharpen up on his first touches, he made some crucial poor first touches in that Peru game. We are deep at forward so not a cause for concern.
Rudolp Austin will have to reinsert himself because right now Edwards is holding his own and maybe a step ahead of him because of the chemistry between Jason and Edwards.
Believe you me this team presently that Whitemore has, particularly the attacking players, I really do not see how the English players will unseat them.
JJ, Campbell Ryce, Omar Daley, maybe Fuller, Bibi, may all have to take a substitute role first.
The chemistry these players have right now its hard for anyone to break it. Bibi may be able to come in at left back.
For Fuller, Dane and Cummings are running and gunning hard, I don't see him unseating these two that easily.
My hope is that the British base players recognize they have to step up their game base on the fact that this present team is playing well together, and playing well for their respective club teams.

Port-of-Spain, Trinidad:
Digicel yesterday officially launched the Digicel Caribbean Cup (DCC) 2010 at a glittering press conference at the Hyatt Hotel in Trinidad.
The Digicel Caribbean Cup 2010 kicks off in Puerto Rico on October 2 and then travels to St Vincent and the Grenadines, Suriname and the Dominican Republic to complete the first stage of the tournament. In the second round, some of the higher-ranked teams - Cuba, Guadeloupe and Trinidad and Tobago - are seeded and will join the tournament in the qualification stage, playing across three host countries, including Grenada and Antigua and Barbuda.
The top two teams from each of the groups in stage two will join the holders, Jamaica, and the hosts, Martinique, to make up eight finalists in the Digicel Caribbean Cup finals from November 26. The finals will be hosted in Martinique on Sunday, December 5.
Cash prize
The eight best teams from the region will play in the finals in Martinique for the title of Digicel Caribbean Cup champions 2010 and walk away with US$120,000 - the largest cash prize for football in the region. Runners-up will take home US$70,000 and third- and fourth-place winners will win US$50,000 and US$30,000, respectively. The top four countries will also advance to the 2011 CONCACAF Gold Cup in the United States.
President of the Caribbean Football Union and CONCACAF and vice-president of FIFA, Jack Warner, commented; "It's amazing to think that just six years ago the tournament was only one week long with 16 matches. Today, we have a tournament that can stand alongside some of the biggest football tournaments in the world. I'd like to wish all the teams the very best of luck and I look forward to seeing some world-class football throughout the tournament."
Digicel Group Marketing Operations Director Kieran Foley said: "This has been an exciting year for football in the Caribbean. this year's DCC promises to be even bigger and better. Customers can expect a whole host of exciting promotions in each Digicel market for the duration of the tournament."

If anyone care to publish a link for the Caribbean Cup Games today in Puerto Rico will be greatly appreciated . From what I understand the 1st match Cayman islands vs French St Martin starts at 1900 eastern time , the 2nd Puerto Rico vs Anguilla starts 2 hours after GMT -4

Another thing , In the 3rd round jamaica have a slight disadvantage . Our Games will be played at a 2nd town in Martinique , our 1st game will be the 2nd game of the day . The following 2 games will be played first , Thats not fair , we are defending champions our lass game in the 3rd round should be the lass game of the Entire round according to CFU seedings.

Theworm2345 I guess the digicel website is very much accurate . The game (Cay v ST M) was tied and now they are showing the standings , all teams in Group A on 1 point . It seems the games started at 1700 eastern time .
