If the current dates of November 1-15, 2010 remain in place, Jamaica will only have USL, DPL and non-playoff MLS, schoolboy and NCAA players available for selection

Ites,
I hope we realize that the players that played against Argentina last night are the core of the squad that will be used for the 2010 Digicel Caribbean Cup. Tappa has nine(9) months to mold his squad to defend their title. He will be actively scouting the DPL, MLS, schoolboy and USL leagues over the next 9 months.

Reggae Boyz head coach Theodore Whitmore has vowed to move forward with a nucleus of local players.
Whitmore was speaking upon arrival at the Norman Manley International Airport from Argentina where the Boyz put up a gallant performance against South American giants and went down 2-1 with the home team scoring two late goals.
"I am having a local-based team and I might bring in a few 'foreigners' to fill a gap with a little experience," said Whitmore. "I am not really concentrating on the 'foreigners' now. My main aim right now is to groom and gel the local players," he added.
The team will next gather on February 22 for a camp, which will run until the 25th with the hope of playing a game on March 3. Whitmore will be looking to draft players currently participating in the Digicel Premier League and those who will be participating in the upcoming Flow knockout competition.
we should get details about 2010 Caribbean Championship by Monday March 1st , 2010 . Their is a meeting going on in Trinidad as we speak .
I hope you're right, at least we should get info on the hosts and dates if not the groups. It seems unlikely that they will actually play the first round of games on March 15 as teams should have more than two weeks to prepare.

I just saw something in the JA Observer saying CFU Club Championship , Digicel Caribbean Championship and Haiti were high on the agenda at the CFU Meeting on the 25 . I just want to know which island is going to host the event and any other details .

Hello everyone! True, it seems that's Guadeloupe which has been chosen to receive the final stage of the DCC. Normally the event should have taken place in Haiti, but since the earthquake has been there. In any case the Guadeloupe's bid will certainly be made official at the next CFU congress in february.

I hope you're right, the CFU isn't always very forthcoming with their information. The Congress ends today.

There is no evidence that Guadeloupe even made a bid to host, at least that I know of, so don't get your hopes too high.

The next CFU Congress in 2011 will be hosted by Jamaica , and this year Digicel Caribbean Championship is most likely hosted by martinique , I am hearing from the JamaicaObserver and another source I refuse to disclose . I can see why martinique won the Bid , they have a better facility than Guadeloupe, and Barbados have hosted the event before .

Thanks metro, I can confirm this (translated) The Martinique host the finals of the Digicel Cup in late 2010. The decision was taken this weekend at the congress of the CFU in Trinidad. The Martinique was competing with Barbados and Guadeloupe. His expertise with the organization, including the game internationnal France / Costa Rica in 2005, was put forward by representatives of the League of Martinique to Trinidad present. The final phase should take place in November or December with the participation of 8 teams. The Martinique and Jamaica are automatically qualified and will be seeded in 2 groups of 4.
Yes, it's a big disappointment! We had the qualities to host this competition but the CFU has chosen our neighbors, good for them! But we all prepare to bring the title home!

I only hope Tappa can field the best starting 11 cause those teams from the french caribbean martinique&Guadeloupe plus Trinidad and Cuba will make 2010 caribbean Championship the most keenly contested football competition the caribbean ever had .

The reason I leave out Grenada,Barbados , Guyana , Surinam , Bermuda , St vincent and Netherlands Antilles is that the qualifying stage some of those teams may get a unlucky Group . Right now I speculate that Trinidad , Cuba and Guadeloupe are likely to be there .

Hopefully, it will be played in late November or early December so Jamaica can have some of our better foreign-based players.
The dates are Nov. 1-15 according to the CFU's calendar. The only FIFA date that month is the 17th. In fact, none of the FIFA dates this year match up with the dates set aside for this Tournament. Its either very poor planning or they want mainly local talent.

I dont like the dates myself, Nov 1-15 was not planned knowing there is a FIFA International Match Date 2 days later on the 17 , I dont know about other Caribbean Teams but MLS and the Norway leagues are off late November to early december and so therefore thats where Jamaica get its players from. The best dates are November 22 to December 6 , with these dates teams can use the FIFA Match date for games . ---------------------------------------------------------------- Question which teams will be in the Knock out stage march 13-14 and April 10-11 ?

Yeah "Allons enfants de la patrie....égorger vos filles et vos compagnes / Going children of the country....kill your daughters and your companions" Talk about a national anthem with a blue, white, red flag is not ours! Guadeloupe is not playing in blue, white, red like France but in green, yellow, red! It's a political problem that we are trying to solve with the french government!
