my question is how are you going to call in 3 u20s and not have any of them be sappleton, adlam or orgill... okay I understand orgill, but who are those three that got called in, I feel like even ottey or someone else should get the look instead
but I think we are definitely going to be playing in a rubbish 3 5 2, i really don't see him using another formation
I knew ryan johnson was not going to make it haha it would have been too good to be true but I am surprised there is no bernard either

Chivas USA defender Shavar Thomas has benefitted from his team’s elimination from the US Major League Soccer championship with a national recall.
The 26-year-old defender will tomorrow travel with the Reggae Boyz to South Africa for a friendly international against that country. Thomas joins his MLS counterparts Omar Cummings (Colorado Rapids) and Dane Richards (Red Bulls) to be included in the party. The exciting Jermaine Johnson (Sheffield Wednesday), Jamal Campbell-Ryce (Burnley) and Jason Morrison (Ferencvaros) will travel from Europe to meet the group.
Midfielder Rodolph Austin heads a list of European-based players who were already in the island preparing for the engagement. The others include Adrian Reid, Eric Vernan and Demar Phillips.
The 20-man squad is a good blend of local-based and overseas players with goalkeepers Shawn Sawyers and Dwayne Miller, defenders Jermaine Taylor and Dicoy Williams, midfielders Richard Edwards and Lovell Palmer and attacking players Navian Boyd, Keammar Daley, Brian Bayliss and Devon Hodges making up the local contingent.

No worry for Boyz
JFF dispels security fears ahead of friendly
BY SEAN A WILLIAMS Assistant Sport Editor
Thursday, November 12, 2009
The Jamaica Football Federation (JFF) yesterday said it has no fear whatsoever of the Reggae Boyz going into South Africa for the friendly fixture against the hosts in Bloemfontein on Tuesday.
Responding to a security curfew imposed on Japan, who will tackle 'Bafana Bafana' on Saturday in another friendly at the Mandela Bay Stadium in Port Elizabeth, JFF boss Captain Horace Burrell said he is not worried over the safety of the players. THOMAS (left)... recalled for next Tuesday's South African friendly game
"I'm not worried about the security of the players and the rest of the team. I'm confident that no one would seek to hurt our boys in South Africa.
"Like anywhere else in the world, including Jamaica... there is crime, but I'm not concerned at all that our team is in any danger...," said Burrell, who left for Zurich yesterday for the FIFA Disciplinary Committee hearing on Diego Maradona on Sunday.
Burrell, a FIFA South Africa 2010 Ambassador, has made numerous trips to the African nation and said he is quite satisfied the crime-fighting efforts and capability of law enforcement agencies there are adequate to deal with any eventuality.
"As I said before, this is a place that I've been to many times and I feel very safe and secured whenever I'm there, so I see no need for any concerns in the area of security," said the CONCACAF Executive Committee member.
International wire services yesterday reported that Japan's football team was subject to a security curfew ahead of a friendly international against 2010 World Cup hosts.
Japan's players, the reports claimed, have been instructed not to leave their hotel after dark while they are in South Africa for the match in Port Elizabeth, which is called "The Friendly City" and is one of South Africa's sea ports.
After arriving in Port Elizabeth, the Japanese team were whisked to their hotel and instructed not to go outside, according to Japan's Sankei Sports yesterday.
South Africa has one of the world's highest crime and murder rates in the world, which has spurred the government to pledge more than US$115 million to beef up security for the World Cup.
Bloemfontein, located in central South Africa where the Reggae Boyz will face the hosts, is abouted 337 miles from Port Elizabeth in the south.
Meanwhile, Chivas USA defender Shavar Thomas has benefited from his team's elimination from the US Major League Soccer championship with a late recall to the Jamaican squad which departs for South Africa today.
Thomas joins his MLS counterparts Omar Cummings (Colorado Rapids) and Dane Richards (Red Bulls) as members of the party.
But Valerenga's Norway-based striker, Luton Shelton, who was in training with the squad, was forced out of coach Theodore Whirmore's final squad due to injury.
The exciting Jermaine Johnson (Sheffield Wednesday), Jamal Campbell-Ryce (Burnley) and Jason Morrison (Ferencvaros) will travel from Europe to meet the group in South Africa.

Meanwhile, according to report posted yesterday on soccer website Goal.com, Blackburn Rovers star Benni McCarthy will make a return to the South African national squad, along with Under-20 stars Darren Keet, Daylon Claasen and Kermit Erasmus.
The South Africans will play Japan on Saturday before tackling the Reggae Boyz at Vodacom Park in Bloemfontein on Tuesday.
Looking ahead to the clashes, McCarthy, South Africa's leading all-time striker, said: "I want to start afresh and help Bafana do well in the World Cup.
"I have watched every match this year. All that was lacking was experience, somebody like me to stick the ball in the back of the net," McCarthy told a gathering of press members at team training session yesterday at the Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium, where they will play Japan.
"I need only one touch to score and I will show the country I am still the best at what I do," he stated. According to the report, Everton midfielder Steven Pienaar was not considered for selection as he continues to work his way back to full fitness following an injury.

Reggae Boyz depart for 'motherland' ... Jamaicans leave island for South Africa friendly
Published: Friday | November 13, 2009
André Lowe, Senior Staff Reporter
Jamaica's Reggae Boyz surround goalscorer Devon Hodges (centre), after he scored the team's second goal in a 3-2 win over Panama at the National Stadium earlier this year.
Several members of Jamaica's 20-man senior football team departed the island yesterday for South Africa, where they will face the FIFA 2010 World Cup host in a friendly international at Vodacom Park in Bloemfontein next week Tuesday.
The squad will meet up with three overseas-based players - Jermaine Johnson, Jamal Campbell-Ryce and Jason Morrison - in Johannesburg later this evening before boarding a one-hour flight to Bloemfontein where they will continue preparations ahead of the highly anticipated fixture.
Good players
Coach Theodore Whitmore, who participated in a full-field squad match with the players in their final practice session in the island on Wednesday, is looking forward to a good showing from his team and is expecting them to show their worth against the exciting 'Bafana Bafana'.
Whitmore said, "We are all looking forward to this game, this is an opportunity for the players to show that they can compete with anybody. We have a good bunch of players, we have worked hard and well together during the training sessions, and I am confident that they will go there and do their best.
"The guys are determined to show their worth, we know we are up against a strong team, but I am happy with what I have seen from my players," he added.
The 85th-ranked South Africans are using the game to fine-tune their preparations for next year's World Cup as they re-welcome Brazilian tactician Carlos Alberto Parreira to the helm, 18 months after he left the post. The hosts will first play Japan on Sunday, before squaring off with the Jamaicans two days later, and Parreira has gone to great length to emphasise the importance of the fixtures as he looks to instil a winning mentality into his team.
National colours
Meanwhile, returning Reggae Boy, defender Jermaine Taylor, who is back in the team after missing the entire domestic season last year, is excited about once again donning the national colours and is hoping to get a chance to come up against the likes of England-based South African striker Benni McCarthy and the Netherlands-based Bernard Parker.
Said Taylor, who plies his trade in the local Digicel Premier League with St Georges, "For this game I'm just looking to go out there and do my best. At this level only your best is good enough and I have been out of the team for a while so I'm really excited about going out there again and representing my country.
"It's a good feeling to be back, it has been a good season so far for me and I want to carry that over to the national team as well," he added.

Reggae Boyz arrive in S Africa
Published: Saturday | November 14, 2009
Audley Boyd, Assistant Editor - Sport
Whitmore
JOHANNESBURG, South Africa:JAMAICA'S Reggae Boyz arrived in South Africa yesterday evening, keen on recharging their batteries for Tuesday night's friendly international against the hosts, following some energy-sapping travelling and unexpected airport delay on their arrival here near 5:30 p.m. (10:30 a.m. Jamaica time).
The Jamaicans departed Kingston near 2 p.m. on Thursday and travelled on a four-hour path to Atlanta. After hustling through US immigration and customs, approximately two hours later they were boarded and set off for Johannesburg, on a flight that lasted 15 hours.
Fortunately, the transatlantic flight to the most southern end of the African continent never contained any long or serious stretch of turbulence to place much additional stress on the body.
against expectations
What did - much against expectations - was a passport issue involving US-based striker Omar Cummings; and the misplaced bag belonging to team physician Dr Mark Sanderson.
The Cummings situation appeared more serious as the player could have been denied entry to the country because a portion of the leaf on the front page of his Jamaican passport was torn off, and the cover was also torn off the other part of the travel document.
The portion of the leaf torn off contained the last two letters of his surname. So instead of his name appearing as Omar Cummings on the front page of the passport, it appeared as Omar Cummin.
The striker explained that the piece of page from his passport was torn off accidentally by the person detaching the portion of the I-94 form from his passport - which was stapled - while he was in the process of executing his departure from the United States en route to South Africa.
two-hour wait
It led to a near two-hour wait inside the terminal at the OR Tambo International Airport in Johannes-burg, as the entire Jamaican party waited on their teammate while the team's manager, Howard Bell and head of delegation Garfield Sinclair, intervened.
Horace Reid, the Jamaica Football Federa-tion general secretary, who had travelled ahead of the team to South Africa and met the delegation at the airport, later became part of the negotiating team and said it took "some amount of calling back and forth" between immigration officials in South Africa and Jamaica to rectify the situation.
The team actually left the airport before the process was completed. Cummings arrived later and said an agreement was reached for him to be given an immigration certificate to explain how his travel document was damaged.
Progress was also made in the case involving Dr Sanderson, who had only got one of his two bags. The doctor pointed out that while he was not in possession of his belongings, checks revealed "that the bag was in fact sent on the flight to South Africa" and they were awaiting a baggage number to retrieve and return.
The weary Jamaican gang then made a brief journey by bus to the Southern Sun OR Tambo Inter-national Airport Hotel, where they sorted themselves out quickly as the check-in had already been dealt with, then went about getting food and much-needed rest.
training today
Despite the heavy travelling, the team will train today (Saturday) in Bloemfontein.
"It's just to get their legs going," Whitmore said. "We don't want to just sit in any hotel. It'd be lovely if we had a pool or a jacuzzi. We'll basically start working on Sunday, Monday for the game on Tuesday."
Continuing, Whitmore added: "They (South Africa) are hosting the World Cup. We want to come here and make a mark. We've been out of the World Cup ... and we didn't do well in the Gold Cup.
"This is a chance to show what we're capable of doing and to keep Jamaica's name alive. The players are aware, they know that they are ambassadors and every one of them, we just want them to wear that yellow and green jersey with pride come Tuesday night and go out there and give their best. I'm very upbeat ... and I'm expecting a
