I will always support John Barnes because I believe he is a good person at heart and was my favourite balla growing up but sometimes a little self-honesty would help.

Tranmere are now winning matches again with the physio and probably even the 'kit man' and 'water-boy' having a say in the coaching !!

Barnes will not admit that trying too hard to impose a style of play that is not suited to that level of football is where he went wrong although he agreed to that expectation when he took the job.

Sometimes u hav fe agree wid u boss in front a im face and behind im back u do ur ting to get success; im only a go fire u if ur ting dont work !! he he he

Are they winning matches again or did they win one match under the physio?

They won this week-end; not sure about his record since he took over.

The point is, even if its only one match, they're winning football matches again; Barnes acquired a losing record that could not be defended so the only way for Tranmere is up.

They lost again this weekend. Let's be careful about criticizing Barnes. He took a bad situation in that job with an owner who wants to dump the club, and hostile fans who did not want him there. Tranmere will continue to lose if they don't spend money, and it is unlikely that they will spend much. Hey, let's chat about Roy Keane!!!

Sorry; my bad for posting that they had won. The web-site might not have been updated yet with the week-end's results.

I will alwyas support Barnes; he still needs to get a grip on British football reality and adjust accordingly.

Bankruptcy order against ex-Liverpool FC legend John Barnes is lifted

</DIV> John Barnes 320

Former England footballer John Barnes has had a bankruptcy order against him rescinded, it was confirmed today.
The ex-Liverpool winger must settle an unpaid tax bill by November 9 - when his case is heard by the High Court in London - for the bankruptcy to be fully discharged.
The amount of unpaid debt has not been released but a legal source said today somebody else was paying the bill on Barnes’s behalf.
Barnes was sacked as manager of Tranmere Rovers FC earlier this month.
The football pundit - who appeared on the BBC’s Strictly Come Dancing in 2007 - was made bankrupt by a Liverpool court on October 14 because of unpaid tax.
He insisted it was an oversight and the money would be repaid quickly.
His solicitor, George Castro, said: “It was widely reported last week that HMRC had obtained a bankruptcy order against John Barnes.
“My client is delighted to announce that the Bankruptcy Order has now been overturned by the High Court.
“John Barnes was not and is not insolvent and my client would like to thank the Official Receiver and the case workers at HMRC for helping to resolve this unfortunate situation as quickly as possible.”
An Insolvency Services spokesman confirmed the order was rescinded by a court last Friday - saying: “It’s not very common,” for an order to be overturned so quickly.
In March, the father-of-six told the Daily Telegraph: “I don’t like dealing with taxes of course.
“I just hate not having enough money. Apart from that, I don’t like dealing with bills and never have done. I let my wife Andrea deal with them.
“I don’t even like opening them. A few times my credit card has been declined when I’ve been travelling abroad.
“Then I have to get creative about paying the bill and have to really root around. That’s much more satisfying than just having it come easily

John Barnes is in the running for the Rwanda national team job. Ironically, I spent some time in Belgium last year and there are quite a few Rwandans playing football there.

Barnes set to coach Rwanda - sports minister

AFP

Friday, October 30, 2009

KIGALI, Rwanda (AFP) - Former England midfielder and Liverpool star John Barnes is poised to sign as coach of Rwanda, the country's sports and culture minister Joseph Habineza said yesterday.

"We are considering hiring this British coach for the Amavubi ("wasps" in Kinyarwanda) national football team," said Habineza.

"All the recruiting procedures will be finalised soon," he added.

Barnes, 45, was sacked as manager of English third-tier club Tranmere earlier this month and more recently made headlines for a personal bankruptcy he said was due to a tax oversight.

If confirmed, the deal would see Barnes - who last year coached his native Jamaica - step in for under-pressure Croatian coach Branko Tukac, who failed to steer Rwanda to next year's African Cup of Nations and World Cup.

This would be good for Barnes, but I am not sure about the stability of Rwanda as a place to live. That genocide episode makes it a volatile place and always on the bubble for a repeat.

Anyway, his former Rux team is not doing any better. They are 1 win and 3 losses since he left, including a 4-1 pounding this past weekend. This tells you Barnes was not the problem... The team is just worthless period!
