It´s not exactly like he walked away from Jamaica to take up Tranmere Ric. He was advised he wasn´t needed and seeing he wasn´t offered anything after winning a tournament we failed miserably in prior to his arrival, he had to look at his other options or his other option as it probably was. I keep seeing people talking like he jumped ship and abandoned a good situation in Jamaica, but in reality Jamaica was winging it with him to get corporate support and never committed to him because it was never the plan to do so regardless of results.

I would Take back Barnes as National Coach , I think Burrell
is going to rehire him If the Trinis dont , Colonel MCMillan
and Cpt Horace Burrell were friends and as someone from ova suh
point out is who-knows-who . Truss mi if di trinis dem nuh grab
im up , he is coming back.

That's my take on the matter as well but we know there are differing opinions on the forum and with all the 'political'
double-speak that went on, it will never be admitted in public.

JB and Burrell were like a man & a woman who got together simply for a season and nothing else. They both came into the relationship intending on using each other to get what they needed with the ultimate goal of parting ways.
As is usual in situations like these neither party admits their intentions to their friends/supporters. They even do things that appears to indicate a long-term commitment to the other, so when the breakup finally comes the supporter of the party that appears to be the grieved one always asked questions of the other about their commitment to the relationship. Newsflash! Neither party was committed to the relationship. One party just got to the point of satisfaction before the other and did what they were always intended to do. SPLIT!!
What's even stranger in this particular situation is that both parties made their intentions perfectly clear from the outset for everyone to see.
Burrell made his clear by offering JB that deal with that ridiculous end date. Also the fact that the JFF is broke and there was no major tournament on the horizon, cutting that check to pay a coach who you know is not committed must seem like a waste. As it would to a man cutting a monthly check to a noncommitted girlfriend after he either has gotten what he intended to get, or ran out of money.
JB made his clear in his very first interview. He said something to the effect that Jamaica was a stepping stone for him because he wants to be managing a major team in Europe and eventually the English national team. He went on further to say that the fans should not expect him to be into developing players because that goes contra to his goals which is to win immediately, pad his record and get that offer in Europe.
It is like 2 gusnlingers squaring off. Are we to blame the one with the quicker draw when they both intended to kill each other? Or should we just see it for what it always intended to be?
As I said at the time. If JB had made those statements in any other country he would've been fired on the spot. As thing unfolded I could see why the JFF didn't fire him. They were both in it only for the season so why pretend otherwise.
The fans overlooking those statements is the real puzzle to me. I can't even chalk it up to forgiveness for the slip of the tongue of a son who is returning home to fight for his country. I would hope thats the thinking that traversed the fans mind, but I ain't that stupid. Therefore I am just left puzzled.
I hate Simoes over the top sales job, but at least one can see it as his effort to ingratiate himself to the people of the country that hires him.
