Jeff Cunningham became joint leading scorer - with Colorado's Conor Casey - this season when he notched fine goals in each half for FC Dallas to sink RSL at Pizza Hut Park. Given space and time outside the box, the Montego Bay native unleashed a powerful right-footer that rocketed off Rimando's right post and into the goal.
Cunningham is now three adrift of equalling the club record of 18 goals in a season. All-time, Cunningham is the second-leading scorer in MLS history with 119 goals. Only DC United's Jaime Moreno (129) has scored more.
Ever since he became a US citizen he was only called once to the MNT for a Korea friendly....
e is one of the best player in the MLS and the USA have not call him up... so what that tell u,i think that if e was not a USA citizen e would have been in the reggaeboyz squad n might b one of the best player 4 us.
lucky I have to disagree with you on that one....Jeff Cunningham himself knows, (along with Bob Bradley, the USSF, the MLS, and FC Dallas), that for the qualifiers everything was going smooth for the US national team.
They were in first place and they didn't really have to make any changes to their squad because what they had for the qulaifiers was enough...They also realized that FC Dallas was nothing without Jeff Cunn. and he was the basis and root of their playoff run, so why change anything? Jeff will eventually get his call up now that: (1)the US has already qualified and they will call up other players within the MLS and around the world when they are playing their WC preparation games, (2)FC Dallas' postseason run is over, and (3)the greatest factor---Charlie Davies' tragic incident....
I think by now we should credit the US with more sense because there is no way they will let a hot commodity like Jeff Cunningham fly under their radar when he has been in mint form this past season. He will get his chance...
and I guess he doesn't really count but he did play once so...
Jobi McAnuff scored for Reading (1)
If it was'nt for Deon Burton, Jamaica would not qualify for WC98. I saw him scored the equqlizer vs USA at RFK stadium...he might not done any thing lately, however respect is due

Just a note on Omar Cummings and his 2009 MLS season. He's obviously done for the year since the Colorado CRAPids blew it again. However, Omar had a great season on the pitch and statistically as well. (Hopefully, not too good so other teams come-a-knocking). As it was, he ended up with 8 goals and 12 assists (a tie for MLS lead in that catagory). He could have easily had 11-12 goals had the Rapids allowed him to take the penalty kicks he was awarded (plus the one he did take that clanged off the frame). I can personally remember him earning 3-4 PKs that Conor Casey stepped up to take. Casey's goal total inflated, Omar not recognized as a goal scorer. Granted, Omar's finish rate per SOG isn't the greatest. But, by giving him the opportunity he earned in getting the PKs awarded he would have easily ended up with double-digit goals and assists AND some mention for MVP I imagine.

Most teams have a designated penalty taker based on performance on the training ground, so its probably not a case of Casey brushing aside Omar. Also, some teams feel strongly about not using the victim of the foul to take the penalty.
November 24th: Deon Burton scored a penalty for Charlton (8) Kevin Lisbie scored for Colchester (9) Ian Goodison scored for Tranmere (1) Joel Grant scored for Crewe (4)
