Zavon Hines was great today. He created the penalty by beating Carragher, and forcing the 'Pool defender to bundle him over. And he drew the foul that led to the free kick that led to the corner, and eventually led to the second West Ham goal. His pace kept Glen Johnson pinned back, and kept Liverpool nervous for most of the afternoon. Benitez showed his brilliance by bringing on Babel to help control Hines, using Babel's superior-to-Kuyt speed to help pin Hines back. But, superb work from the young man.

The commentators were rapturous about his performance, and the fans wanted him to get the ball on each attack. As the commentators said, he is quick in both mind and body, and this is what one loves to hear. I really hope that he will play for us, because he is a prospect to be treasured. Big up Barnes for having approached him.

Jeff Cunningham became joint leading scorer - with Colorado's Conor Casey - this season when he notched fine goals in each half for FC Dallas to sink RSL at Pizza Hut Park. Given space and time outside the box, the Montego Bay native unleashed a powerful right-footer that rocketed off Rimando's right post and into the goal.

Cunningham is now three adrift of equalling the club record of 18 goals in a season. All-time, Cunningham is the second-leading scorer in MLS history with 119 goals. Only DC United's Jaime Moreno (129) has scored more.
