Bredrin,
I disagree, if we can not pass the ball out of the back when need to go back to footballing school
Just passing the ball around for the sake of passing is pointless, the opponents are not being sucked in by our passing, they just sit back and wait till we lose it and counter-attack.
ok first of all we didnt play too badly i thought it was an even game but our finishing #@#$#$ sucked like bitches.tappa so damn blind and stupid wid him subs dem till it make mi angry wid him,him brain seemed to have fallen out of his damn skull.did'nt u see how campbell ryce make an impact as soon as he was brought on i hope u guys finally beleive me when i tell u that oneil thompson is nothing but shit.for this game fuller, johnson, gardner,
Somehow watching this mek mi feel at peace with the team not getting to the hex. It wasn't a fluke, it wasn't really Simoes, we just weren't good enough. I can live with that.
I'm looking forward to the next matches but with properly weighted expectations.
Mi nuh know a which game unnuh did a watch but I thought they played a bettah second half. They were more willing to use the flanks and with a bit more composure in front of goal and the game would have swung in our favor. De man dem need fi ease up off a Fuller. However, I agree that he and Shelton should not start as a striking pair. I think Tappa took Austin out because he was getting tired. No need to start panicking. I liked what I saw. I honestly believe this squad can do some damage in this tournament. But we need to spend less time arguing with the ref and play ball. Btw, ease up off a Tappa!!!
we might beat el salvador and sneek into the next round oh and 1 more thing for the game against costa rica. costa rica are gonna win 2-0.no hating just the f@#king facts.

Oneil Thompson showed was not ready in the Digicel Cup. Stop the polictricks and work permit caps. Thompson did not train with the team at all since December.
haha it never ends for me watch the u20s suffer, watch man u suffer in the championship game, watch the red bulls suffer all season long, watch this nonsense now...
but maybe tappa should sit the team down and show them the us vs spain and egypt games in the confederations cup and how they sucked but atleast never quit and made sure to run their opponents ragged until the final whistle
because thats what we lacked energy, power, determination and fitness

I want to know one thing why when these players playing for their club they play very good, and this is not the first time i have been noticing this for some time now,but when they are playing for their country they play like shit they play like they don't care, they will kill themselves playing for their club, but not their country
Jamaica look like a side trying to do something they are not accustomed to. They look like they were trying too hard to play a certain way, and in doing so forget to play ball!. All the organization, skill and tactics, means nothing if its not focused in the right direction. Jamaica, with the exception of JJ looked like they did not even care if they score or not.
Their game looked almost incidental, they looked more like they were working on a drill in practice, with the objective to play the ball to the back 3 and play keep away. Jamaica as a team never really attacked the Canadians. Even our chances came from happen stance. I counted 5 corners and only one caused the Canadians some worry.
Gardner, Fuller and Shelton should have been subbed at half time. Where is Omar Daley, and Ryan Johnson? Stew Please cannot play the 3 man back line. I say Tappa should go back to the 4-4-2 formation, I think it will allow the players to get in their comfort zone early. They clearly were not themselves playing in this 3-5-2 formation. They looked subdued or handcuffed if you know what I mean.
Its OK, I knew it would take this entire generation of soccer players to fail and fail drastically, before Jamaica start to play the right players with the right attitude. The skill is there but the attitude of go 110% in international games, is not there and it will never be there with this generation of players.
There is this vibe about the Jamaican players who have made it so to speak, that they are above getting dirty and above chasing and putting their heart and soul into it. They have been told how great they are and how wonderful they are, they get no results and yet still the praises and adoration comes, so there is no incentive for them to work hard and go all out, they have nothing to prove. I still think they have the skill to go as far as they want in this tournament, but I dont think they will, not with the mind set I see in this team. Now I understand why Semoes and others tend to go with the unproven guys, because they work 3 times as had hard on the field as the established players, like Fuller for example.
Here is one report. I am still pissed off, because we should have won. We need to step it up, and with El Salvador's victory tonight it might help us. Wonder what the ites would be saying if Barnes had been coaching and we lost? Hmmm!
Close Canada/Jamaica Match Kicks Off Gold Cup Goal.com
CARSON, Calif. - Throughout the first 74 minutes of the 2009 Gold Cup opener between Canada and Jamaica, neither side could gain control of the game.
The Canadians tested Jamaican goalkeeper Donovan Ricketts on several occasions while the Reggae Boyz kept Canadian 'keeper Greg Sutton on his toes as well.
It wasn't until the 75th minute that one team finally broke through. And it took a magnificent strike to do so. Ali Gerba smashed a side volley across the goal line for what proved to be the only goal Canada needed as Canada beat Jamaica 1-0 at Home Depot Center on Friday.
On the strength of solid goalkeeping and a tremendous finish then, Canada were able to claim victory.
"We had the intentions to get the three points and we got the three points," Canada forward Ali Gerba said. "We tried to keep the defense very tight and create space so we could keep it in front of us. We had a good (scoring opportunity) and I put the ball in."
Gerba was named Man of the Match but goalkeeper Greg Sutton also had a strong match. Sutton, who was let go by Toronto FC in early June, admitted he was lacking match fitness after his spell of inactivity. But Sutton came up big when Canada needed him the most as he came up with several saves on either side of halftime to preserve the clean sheet.
"I felt rusty… but I understand that that's part of the layoff that I've had," said Sutton, who played in just two games for Toronto FC this season. "It was a good game to get under my belt. But i was still able to help the team out and still able to get the victory."
Still, Toronto FC manager Steven Hart said Sutton's club situation had little bearing on the decision to start him.
"We knew Jamaica were very powerful in the air, very strong," Hart said. "In that situation we just thought sutton would be best."
For their part, the Reggae Boyz felt the game got away from them of their own doing as they put themselves in a tough situation, both in the match and in the tournament in general.
"Tough start. You never want to start the tournament with a loss," Jamaican defender Tyrone Marshall said. "I thought we played well, just unfortunate not to put our chances away and it came back to bite us."
Marshall blamed their loss on the team's inability to beat Sutton.
"It's the nature of the game. If you don't put your chances away and give the other team the opportunity, they're going to put it in and they did and ended up beating us 1-0," Marshall said.
The opportunity Canada created was strong, but not exactly a clear-cut scoring chance. From far on the left flank, Michael Klukowski crossed the ball to the right side of the penalty area. Gerba timed the cross and latched onto it in mid-air, sending a powerful shot past a flat-footed Ricketts and into the inside of the net.
"The ball was going pretty fast," Gerba said. "I saw Mike on the wing. I just kept my eyes on the ball and I put it in the back of the net."
Hart said he thought the play was going to develop in a different manner.
"I actually saw Ali peeling away. i thought he was going to bring it down. I'm glad he didn't," Hart said. "It was a great, great finish. A nice play in general but a fantastic finish."
